    Tough to compare them with 3 different people throwing them. Why wouldn't you have one person throwing all three so we can actually see the difference?

    • @mazsinger78
      @mazsinger78 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      exactly! you cannot call the disc a "control" if three different people are throwing three different discs. Thats just pointless!

  • @benduimstra7437
    @benduimstra7437 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Two different discs, could easily bag both. The sexybird is meant to be an understable version of the firebird, whereas caprap is meant to be an overstable version of the raptor.

      Perfectly said, I bag both for this reason

    I dont mind the 3 people. But I would have prefered if you did something like that to each throw all 3 discs. So we can see how each person threw each disc. Its really hard to compare and get info when each person throws so different.

    Fun video as usual guys. But man, next time you're gonna beat up a disc on purpose please throw them into those indestructible concrete pads rather than the poor tree. I know it's to be expected that trees get beat up on a course, but no need to add that extra damage, especially when doing so at point blank range as hard as you can.

    I don't know if it'll help, but I use to deal with elbow pain a lot on forehands. For me keeping my elbow in close to my hip and when rotating has added a lot of power and drastically reduced pain. I think swinging your arm to far from your body and being out of sink during rotation is what causes the pain. At least for me, hope that helps!

    Kind of a dumb comparison since the Sexton Firebird is supposed to be a bit straighter version of a Firebird and the Captains Raptor is supposed to be a more overstable version of a Raptor. It is great that you've got the Felon here as a comparison tho, I really like it.

  • @Ben-rs2wp
    @Ben-rs2wp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The Felon has become my favorite disc, cool to see it in comparison to some discs I might not buy otherwise

  • @Sharp_3yE
    @Sharp_3yE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can also just get a regular ESP Raptor where the flight is similar to that Sexton Firebird. C.Raptor is more over stable then regular Raptor while the Sexton is more understandable compared to a regular Firebird.
    Like the exact opposite.

    You elbow problem is because you use too much arm and need to focus on allowing your wrist to do more of the flicking. In a forehand the wrist should do more of the work because the momentum of the disc keeps it cocked as you pull forward and then your arm should almost stop allowing the forward momentum to roll the disc off your fingers creating the spin of the disc for more distance

  • @drm-
    @drm- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    To compare a Felon and CapRap you should go with a lucid x felon. That would be more comparable in plastic, stability & durability but still cheaper than the other options.

    I love little mulberry park what a great course! For your elbow issue try using a compression sleeve with gel pads for added pressure on your tendons. I have the same issue and it helps me out.

    Like the channel but can’t really get into this review. Three different people throwing different ways cannot give a reliable comparison. Different angles, hight, power, and technique impact disc flight. Explanations on why/how different throws still offered good comparison were to much a stretch.

    The forehand elbow issue is definitely a form issue. Just make sure you move your body in the correct steps to resemble a sling. Working from back to front, it’s hard to explain by typing but I hope this helps a bit .

    Keeping your elbow tucked to your side causes strain on the elbow because it forces it to rotate in a direction it's not supposed to. Extended your arm more so you use more of the shoulder.

    Sexybird is a straighter firebird and a captain raptor is a more stable raptor, kind of two different disc slots and could both go in the bag

    Why use the sexton firebird? The glow plastic is meant to be not as stable as a champion flattop firebird. That would likely be a better match up to the captains raptor.

    I bag all three. The sexy firebird is an incredible forehand disc for anyone with medium power and up. It flies dead straight then comes out smoothly. I can't throw the Cap Rap hard enough to make it pop up to straight which is just what you want on several holes at Little Mulberry. Great for flex lines. Ricky's Orbit Felon is great and still cheaper than either of the others. Similar to the sexy firebird but with a stronger finish and slightly less glide.

    If you want a Firebird + a Sexton Firebird flights BUT don't want to go broke buying them or trying to find replacements, give the Fuzion + Fuzion-X Felons a try. The Fuzion-X is an absolute meathook compared to the Fuzion one.

    Two very different discs. Sexton firebird is a less stable firebird and the captains raptor is a more stable raptor.

    Cool comparison. Is it really necessary to take it out on the same tree 15 times? I get as frustrated as the next guy when I nail a tree, but IMO this is a bit ridiculous and arguably course abuse.

  • @ForrestNeal
    @ForrestNeal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you lean over more you will have a throwing style more similar to what Scott Stokely talks about. I throw forehand hard a lot and as far as durability goes, it's about putting your body in the most natural position to make the throw. I'm also throwing especially hard because I'm at high altitude 7000 feet so the only way I can prevent injury while throwing hard all the time is to have a somewhat "proper" form in place

    don’t even have to watch this. these discs are night and day from the plastic to the mold. sexton firebirds were made for Nate to be a little straighter but still have a predictable finish. the better comparison would have been a champion faf firebird. similar plastic, similar over aggressive fade.

  • @samuraiswordlover
    @samuraiswordlover 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think to understand the captains raptor you need to watch Uli's video with Eric Oakley. That explains why it is different from a traditional overstable fairway (beefy at slow speed, straighter at fast speed). Also the sexton firebird is a LESS stable version of a firebird so more just comparison would be firebird->captains raptor

    Elbow: i'm struggling with the same thing, but it's gotten so bad I haven't been able to throw at all for 4 months. DON'T PUSH IT. Stop throwing forehands for a minute and let it heal. But then, throw from below your waste, you're release is super high (like mine was) if you watch the pros, the disc is coming our at their knees.

    I bag ‘21 Sexton Firebird and Z Raptor and love the combo. Raptor is flat and WAY more OS. The SexyBird is domey, flips to flat, and bombs with a strong fade at the end. Would love to throw a CapRap but can’t see myself rushing to buy one with my current bag setup (they’re also extremely hard to get here in Australia 🇦🇺)
