Hope you like it! it took a while a pound at a time. I am going to invest in some bigger ingot molds. for stacking ingots that may never be remelted I can go with a bigger ingot
Glad you enjoyed it. I shortened the sections of video more at the end. took a while a pound at a time. I think I will look into getting some bigger ingot molds. Thanks for stopping by
windy here today out of the south so I could melt on the north side of the shop. but the graphite ingots are about shot so I ordered some new ones. they will be in Friday. the 100 oz cast-iron mold should be in Wednesday so I may be out using it Thursday
Thanks for watching. melted about 17lbs. of alum. yesterday, burner was acting up. so I think I will make a video on how I clean the Nozzle and how I mix and strain my oil for the burner
Brother, I appreciate the effort you put into making these videos for all to watch they are definitely worth watching. You inspire me to get busy when I sit for too long. Motivation is hard to find these days, for me anyhow. I am wondering if you have ever tried taking a supplement called NAC, N-acetyl Cysteine. It is all natural and safe, you can even get it off the shelf at walmart. I know you have talked about breathing issues before on here. I started taking it a couple months ago and it has pretty much eliminated my sinus and congestion issues. In some ways it is better than any prescribed medication I have ever taken. NAC is good for a lot of things in general health. But it's cheap and they can't make money off it so it's not promoted. I sometimes wheeze in the colder weather when I'm outside working, but all that is gone away! Thank the Lord! If you are interested, it is sure worth a try. I have been amazed, personally. Thanks again for all the content and motivation, I want you to stay healthy! Take care!
@Okie scrapper You're welcome. Like I said, you can get it at walmart, it has added selenium and molybdenum minerals. It has been a miracle for me. It sure makes a fella scratch his head how something that can do so much good is hardly mentioned in the medical world today. I sure hope it can help your wife too, that would be fantastic. It may cause some mild stomach issues at first for some. But I really noticed a difference after only a couple days of taking it and I am very grateful I came across it, sorry for going on and on about it, but it really works. I think anywhere in the body there is a mucous lining, it works well and the promotion of glutathione is the biggest factor. Merry Christmas to y'all and hope you both stay well!
Hi from northwest Missouri I was wondering if you could make some brass ingot's neaver seen brass melted before but always be safe what ever you melt bud
yes, I need to melt some brass in this furnace, I did a video over a year ago I melted some brass in the electric furnace. I am about to order some new molds
I just got a burner to melt some metals. Are your molds made out of cast iron. Do you have to put anything on your molds to keep from sticking. I've never done this before. Looks like you have done it once or twice lol. I have learned a hell of a lot from you so far. I watch at least two or more of your videos every day. I'm excited to get to melting some aluminum and copper. Of course I'm not quite ready yet. I still have a few things to get first. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. 👍 Thanks for sharing 👊😎
yes, the molds are cast iron, you can get graphite molds too, the cast iron ones I use a spray cooking oil, about $2.00 a can and works as good as the $34.00 a can mold spray. for sand casting I get my Petro bond from eBay
@@Okiescrapper ok good thanks Okie. I have some cast iron molds . I guess pam would work for the spray is what you're talking about. Do you have to spray them after each pour or just once? I'm thinking everytime. You make it look so easy but I know It not that simple. Does the cast iron and spray work on copper too? Did you build the blue burner your self? The one I have is not very big. Its a gift just for me to learn with. I have a bigger steal tank I'm wanting to build a bigger burner with. Did you make your grabbers or purchase them. If purchased where did you get them. Doe,s the bad stuff come to the top with copper like it does with the aluminum? Thank you for letting me pick your brain on this subject. I've never seen this or heard of it until I watched your videos. It sure peaked my interest. Thanks again my friend. 👍👊✌️😊

He do a two parts melts . On the first melt he would put the whole side of engine into the other burner . Plastic , steels and other stuff . There is a hole on the bottom . The plastic would burn off . The steel would be red hot . The aluminum would melt and drain on the bottom of the burner . He collect in the cup cake can . First melt would have some ash and other inclusion / impurities . This is the second melt . Where the impurities would float up as slag. Then he pour final pour. If you have all just aluminum without any other metal parts . It doesn’t matter the shape and extrusion. You can melt it all the same . And skim off the slags. Only need 1 melt. But he is melt even the whole side of engine 😁 Look at his other video .
@@sofjanmustopoh7232 My question was only about aluminum. The scrap yard makes you separate different types of aluminum. If he does not separate cast aluminum from aluminum cans, how will that change the quality of the aluminum?
most of my aluminum melting is for guys that do sand casting so I use cast aluminum items for that, at times I will melt non cast aluminum and I make a different style of ingot for that. for guys that stack different metals
I am setting up the first stage meeting to pore through a tube to the second stage on the ground. The isolated tube has a catch screen for screws and small steel .stainless steel mesh . Only have to fill the first stage and remove the steel . The Seckond stage is 30 gallons to make big stuff . Want to make 4f x 8f by 1/ 2-inch sheets and semi bumpers good program.
nice, I would like to see a video of it when you get it up and running. so you will have a heat source on both tanks, one to melt and the lower tank to keep it liquid or melted
Out of curiosity and only when you're doing shot, do you think if a smaller drain hole could be temporarily attached to get not only a more narrow stream but might cool faster when it hits the water for smaller shot and less sticking together? Just a thought. I do enjoy your melts btw. 8 )
that may work or may clog up, I need to put less in at a time and then it may not happen, or the trash may make a small dam inside and when it overflows it all goes at once. so I may need to keep it clean inside and melt smaller amounts at a time, I had a lot in the melting pot on that run
@@Okiescrapper It might be worth experimentation (imho) to get smaller drips/streams. I don't think the amount of metal would make as much as a difference as the size of the hole would. That's just my reasoning. I have an idea about keeping the water cool in the drop can if you'd like to hear it. You won't hurt my feelings if you don't. Take care. 8 )
You putting that long handle on your propane forge made me think. Were you to melt a massive amount of aluminum in this tank, you could scoop it out with a long handled ladle and fill your molds that way
@@Okiescrapper always be careful with molten metal , worked for a bit in the aluminum smelter, for years , construction , they take measures to ensure that spills don’t happen , seen the results of worker’s being injured , it’s very unforgiving when you have molten metal burns .
