So sorry about the flood. Our bathroom upstairs flooded to the guest bedroom downstairs at our house last. Our insurance company had dehumidifiers brought in even though we had shop vacuumed the water up. You would be surprised have much water and moisture the dehumidifier can pull out of the ground and walls that you don’t realize is there. Kid really recommend it to prevent mold.😃

You are hard-working and your track room is clean again. It is good that your riding gear is safe. My riding boots are also waterproof (black lacy ones, similar to yours) but I don't use them in mud. I also have wellington boots. I hope your house is dry again.
We recently had a flood here as well, it was so bad, water was basically everywhere. Enjoyed watching you clean after having a long day, definitely helped me relax. 😊

Oh my goodness, Esme! You handled that flooded tack room like a champ! Blue Rosette for you! It sounded like this was a rare flood for your area, but theres a few solutions that could help prevent this in the future (Architect here!), for you or your viewers! The simplest would be to buy a water barrier from Amazon that you could lay in front of the door on days you all are expecting a big rain. Also check the gutters to make sure they are cleaned and have your down spouts all oriented away from the tack room. You can get extenders to send the water to a different location. More extensive solutions would be to install a drain grate in or near your tack room, or with the help of a landscape architect check the grading and find a location to build a retaining wall to block the water runoff, or replace the concrete outside with horse-friendly permeable pavers. :) And.... How is Joey?? We are praying for him!

I come from a really damp climate (Pacific Northwest in the U.S.) and the tack room flooding is worrying me! I really hope you got a box fan or something and let it run in there to help dry out the furniture, etc.! :-) And, yes, I'm a mom LOL

You may want to think about getting a wet vacuum or shop vac. Our basement floods sometimes ant it really comes in handy.
