Its wonderful how you take such care to make sure Joey is so well looked after. When I was a kiddo one of our horses got sick and died and her stallmate and best buddy fell into a depression. We tried getting her a pony as a new little friend, unfortunately it didn't really help. But we had an amazing vet who helped us get her back to herself. Horses are amazing animals and they really do get attached to the other animals and their people. She ended up with one of the stable cats as her new best friend, and the little guy would curl up on her back and sleep.
My horse Molasses has just recently tried to jump the fence into his girlfriend Crystal’s pasture and has been on stall rest. These tips were all so helpful! Thank you for sharing 💕
Thanks soo much we have a foal away from his friends due to an injury,he is also on box rest who has to stay in for a year,another trick I do is push carrots into a twisted lead rope and hang it up!!!!!
I love Joey he has such a character its like if you know what he is thinking . We all know how it feels having to be in box rest because of covid but for a horse especially a young horse its way harder for them but you keep him so entertained and you can tell you love them so much because how you go out of your way to try new things so he is happy. Love your videos.
I put different tree branches with leaves inside, mine loved it! on thicker apple tree branches you can stick tiny pieces of fruits and vegetables. I also made 'horse ice' in the summer and lot s more, but I still use the branch trick in winter from time to time after he came in from the field :)

My gelding is the most 2 year old, 7 year old there ever was. He is 7. But acts like a baby. So he loves and enjoys his enrichment toys! I make reels on Facebook of him and my donkey enjoying their enrichment toys 🥰

Yes box rest was hard to do especially when you are in yard but having people around to work as a team to help with hay and giving my pony attention was invaluable

My pony was on box rest quite a while ago now, but we used salt licks and lick-its. They keep your horse busy and the salt is good for their body. Hope Joey gets better soon!!

Hey Esme and all other horse lovers! Just an FYI, be very carful giving your horses whole apples. A friend of mines horse chocked on one. All of us were shocked because he has always eaten whole apples with no problem. He could not breath and we could not get the apple out. Someone called the vet, the rest of us kept trying to reach in and get it. By this point he was down on the ground, and as a last resort someone took a board and began hitting his throat repeatedly until the apple broke. It did cause some damage, as you can imagine, but the important part was we were able to save him. SO PLEASE even if your horse has never had problems eating whole apples, CHOP THEM UP ANYWAY!! I am not trying to tell anyone what to do, I just don't want anyone else to go through this! By the way, He has fully recover now and has had no lasting affects from any of this!
In the beginning when you said "its raining food omg its raining food" i was like what and then i re-played the clip and was like omg i get it now. I when i first saw it i was like what food and then i saw the food and giggled a lot. I just realised it was hay lol. Hope Joey feels a lot better :)❤❤❤. Something I have done with my horse because he was on boxrest to the thing is a hay ball it will hang but it’s much harder to make it get stuck on the wall so they don’t get to cuncky if you saw this hi I love you, you are the reason why I do horse riding I love you so much I have been subbed for years now
Hi Esme, could you please do another stable talk video i really loved those. If you do here my my fall story, so around a year ago i moved stables and started cantering after having a terrible fall, a few months after the move I did my first canter without someone running with me, we started of with a trotting 20 meter circle and at M in the arena we started cantering, the horse bucked and did a quick turn and i went out the side door, I was soooo close to hitting the fence but luckily I did not😅 it was the middle of summer... After my fall i was covered in sand and it stuck to my riding clothes, We went to the shop after we left the stables for some lunch, i went into the shop to choose what i wanted for lunch and lets just say i got some weird looks walking around the shop with sand allover me... my most embarrassing moment..❤ here is a cheeky pony story, so most lessons when this pony called sparky is in he will be trotting or walking and he will just roll with the rider, luckily the rider jumps of but sparky will be roll in his tack and the tack and him gets filthy😂

Esme, if you have Roblox, you should try the game Wild Horse Islands. It's a really fun game with so many breeds like the Percheron, American Quarter Horse, Arabian, etc. It's so fun and the events are amazing. The game creators come up with great ideas for different event coats. One example was during the Valentines Day event, they had a Love Dapple Friesian and an entire island in the clouds. I highly recommend it.
