Ideal small coach for touring the winding, narrow roads in the Yorkshire Dales! A beautiful example from the great days of Plaxton's coach building in the UK.
Absolutely priceless. ❤ A pal of mine owned one of these 50 years ago. Thanks for showing this little gem. It certainly reminds me when I was in my twenties. Kind regards to all.👍
As a child in the late 60's, was always taking interest in cars, buses, lorries. Remember seeing Karrier BF's, not this coach though. Just the van version. Everything was so distinct from everything else and most were british. There were Thames Traders, AEC Meryweathers, everywhere and Ford Consul Zephyr Zodiacs, Jaguar MK II, Routemasters and RT buses. There was a nice gut that had a Karrier red/white fish and chip van every Friday where I lived in the early 70's. Got to say though although nicely preserved I preferred the van version.
I've been to Wales from Buckinghamshire twice in one of those. They were scout camping trips. They had one, but it had ordinary seats and was not in anything like as good condition. We were amazed it kept going.
I can’t believe people are suggesting this piece of automotive history could be turned into a CAMPER!! I’m surprised no one’s suggested a burger van. Let’s hope it goes to the right owner.
Absolutely beautiful (and typically these are very popular choice for weddings special occasions and period films etc) The aluminium on wood bodies are virtually rust free.
these commer Karrier bfs were only made as cold war ambulances, my late father had a few in his recue team , when the mod disposed of them they went for just a few quid each and were snapped up for delivery vans, ice cream vans , coaches they are areal work horse and total bomb proof, ours were fantastic off road, very wel balanced a pleasure to drive.
In the late 1950´s our junior choir used to hire a full size coach to take us to performances. That coach had a petrol engine, not diesel like the public transport buses of the time. The driver said the petrol engine was better for a coach because it ran smoothly and quietly without all the vibration of diesel power. Diesels then were pretty basic, no turbo charging or electronic engine management. I remember when you sat downstairs at the front overlooking the engine cover of the old rear platform access double decker service bus, on tick over the diesel engine shook everything around it like the front end bodywork would shake apart before long. The big advantage of the petrol engine in the 1950´s was more BHP, if at the expense of MPG, plus faster acceleration and higher cruising speeds for more luxurious long distance coach travel.

Was that a hole for the starting handle belowthe radiator grill? Front and rear windows interchangeable, if drivers window breaks change it for the rear glass.
There was a small bus/coach company in St. Margarets, near Ware in Hertfordshire that had a vehicle exactly the same as this. Also weren't Plaxtons based in Ware? That bus is the same colour and the interior is the the same scheme. Anyone remember the name of the company that operated the vehicle?
The body builder in Ware was Thurgood. ( Plaxton ended up in Scarborough, Duple in Blackpool- having been in Hendon but took over Burlingham of Blackpool)
That is fabulous. It would be super awesome with all the interior ripped out and then redone as a camper. Could block out a few windows and update the colour scheme too. Super fantastic.
So is it for sale ? Or is it just a new acquisition for the shop, that's not clarified.... And if it is for sale, what's the asking price, or does it get sold by auction ? Would be great for a retro-minded luxrious hotel, like the Midland Hotel in Morecambe, to make tours with the privileged guests... It also could have starred in Endeavour... What a deliciously frivolous design, that bus. Today everything has to be so damned rational and square, design without a soul. This little bus makes me smile, just by looking at this cutie.... It breaths out optimism and frivolity, from a time buses weren't populated by zombies, obsessed by the latest ping on their smartphone.... Progress comes with a serious serious price. But I guess, this rare bicolore bus too. I know which of the two I prefer.
Cars were all recognisable when we were kids. Designing was probably more fun with the ability to imagine shapes without conformity. It’s not just cars. We all have to agree to conform because they say we have to. God this planet is more like a prison these days.m

Nothing made nowadays with such characterful looks!
That coach in that condition should be driven straight into a motor museum, it would be a star attraction in the commercial-commuter vehicle section.
Rhubarb and Custard and gorgeous. Whats not to not like. Just need a Carry on film.
Lol, Syd James leaning out the window.
Good times !!!@@spencereagle1118
How much is it or is it auction?
Absolutely priceless. ❤

So many beautiful buses made back then and this one is no exception. 👏
Built in the days when all vehicles had a unique character of their own unlike the mass produced jelly moulds of today
The most beautiful and interesting coach I've seen.
And just look at the turn indicators both on the side post (very Art Deco) and the illuminating turn arrows on the rear panel, fantastic.
mostly used for Proms and Weddings now, better than a streach limo for the discerning client
Now what a cute little coach!

Saw this within Gardiners coach works Spennymoor County Durham a few years ago having a few jobs done
Lovely condition
I've been to Wales from Buckinghamshire twice in one of those. They were scout camping trips. They had one, but it had ordinary seats and was not in anything like as good condition. We were amazed it kept going.
I saw a lovely camper conversion on a later moder about 30 years ago.
I was very jealous.
They don’t make them like that anymore, a real piece of motoring history, this bus is !!

Старая автомобильная техника всегда очень добрая и очень милая.
Создана с душой.
Absolutely beautiful bus, and great descriptive video. What an education!
Wow! Body and soul!😮

It's a year older than me but what a beautiful thing,
Why don't they bring them back? 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely beautiful (and typically these are very popular choice for weddings special occasions and period films etc) The aluminium on wood bodies are virtually rust free.
Beauty.Just the job for a trip to the seaside.

Safeguard at Guildford have got a similar (Bedford I think) one
Fantastic little machine.

One of these took us to school in the 60s.Cory's Coaches. Market Harborough.
Quality and full of character , absolutely love it . I’m an old guy and I love older vehicles . How much would this cost ?!
If Wonderland had a coach, this would be that.

I have a souvenir of our local ice cream man driving one of these to sell his wares to the happy children with coins in their hands !
I can remember that bus when I was young And that is the most classic beautiful bus I've seen chain 19 6 50
Pretty sure WE Berriman had one of these in Langtoft, East Yorkshire, which i probably went to school on at one time or another!
Phil Whitley
Brilliant thanks for uploading
Can someone put this back in production? Absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing from Mexico
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Sure I’ve just spotted this passing through Brough en-route to Kirkby Stephen. Looked great.
This was originally 6666U, new to Brockbank, Bramley, Leeds in 1958. It was re-registered as BVH157A but not sure why.
That'd probably be worth more than the bus itself now!
A bucket list camper/home, nice as it is now, what a beauty!
Adorable!
Didn’t they make a full size version of this as well. I am sure I remember one as our school bus.
No entiendo ingles
Pero es el minibus mas lindo que he visto
I would go back to school in a heart beet if that bus would collect
me.😊
that is a thing of beauty!
That is just beautiful and the sun roof. Would make a great camper
Noooooooooo! What are you thinking?!
@caroltaylor4684 I could see myself cruising across the Nullarbor with it.
Would need a bigger radiator though.
Looks like something out of a Carry On film !
Dam if i had somewhere to put it
was this at the metrocentre coach show last year
Was that a hole for the starting handle belowthe radiator grill?
Front and rear windows interchangeable, if drivers window breaks change it for the rear glass.
One Bad owner and ….. give Museum’s the first option!
Nice to know what it sold for, hope a very high price into a collection at least.
Fantastic! 🤗
What a great classy RV conversion it could be!
@freddobbs4437 ......dont be daft - it would be a crime to convert this bus.
Wonderful xx
The front looks like Bedford van.
What is the estimated price please. What day is the auction.
Beautiful xx but Take that 70s marina choke cable off it’s letting it down
Wonder Where That Started Off Its Life Maybe Macbraynes
Yay, Hippy bus!
I looked on the website.
But can't see this

It is going to auction in April.
Lots of knee room!
I think that little 4 cylinder would struggle with a full load.
Cachorrinho!
Looks like late 30s early 40a style American bus .
Steering wheel i on the wrong side

A truly beautiful old vehicle, I can’t say the same of the clueless sales patter.
❤
👍
Good enough to be a Dinky toy .
If electric buses looked like that I would love them, but they have to make them look ugly probably by law.
Take a look at the Seddon Choride bus at Manchester Museum of Transport. But it is to bus spec, not a coach.
Scared little bug
Even as a native English speaker I had to hit the CC button, which equally struggled, with amusing results.
