Colton's Wish to be a Navy Seal

- A hope. A dream. A wish.
Colton was your typical 7 year old kid who wanted to play baseball and be a navy seal. However, when the coach told him to run around the field, he couldn’t do it.
Doctors wanted a series of hospital tests done on Colton and ultimately he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Having a sick child can be a very lonely journey. Luckily Colton’s parents had a lot of support from friends, family, and church. This type of support was needed due to long stays in the hospital, chemo adjustments, and setbacks.
Colton’s parents described him as a trooper through his treatments. Of course he had bad days but Colton ultimately wanted what any child would want. He wanted to be home, have fun with his dogs, and play with his friends.
His journey was a long one, and #MakeAWish was there for them.
Colton’s wish was to be a #navyseals and Make-A-Wish made that happen.
During his trip, Colton never stopped smiling. He had the time of his life. After all of those years sitting in the hospital, Colton and his family were finally able to be a family again.
The most magical part of this wish was that Colton felt very connected to the men who go out and fight for America’s freedom. They told him that the way they fight for America, that he needs to fight for his life. They know what it is to have their lives on the line, just like Colton. They go out and fight for this country and they told him to stay in the fight for his life.

When i was younger my dream was to join the military, my dream did come true. I served over 10 years and did 3 tours in Iraq. I have 2 young boys and my oldest wants to be a soldier. I will do everything to make sure what ever dream either of my boys want to come true. Make a wish does so much for these young children that make me smile. I don't have a lot of money but i do what i can. All i can say is thank you to the Make a wish for making these dreams come true for these kids. If i could i would love to be a part of making a childs wish come true.
My dad served for 20 years in the Air Force and was in the invasion of Iraq. And I know that every soldier, sailor, marine, airmen, and coastie are all heroes. Thank you for your service. And big salute to you and your family.

Colton is like the SEALs in that he's very tough; there is no 'quit' in him. SEALs would rather die than quit..

So sweet, the kid is fighting for his own life but his dream is to be a navy seal, someone who fights for others. Love it!
That's where a real warriors heart is, it's not all hatred and violence, its love, its taking the grit and determination to stand up and do the hard work so the ones you love dont have to make those sacrifices, and I see that in this young boy, unending bravery, and I see a great amount of love in his heart
As a US NAVY NURSE CORPS CAPTAIN retired this video sure made this old sailor cry!!! HOOAH to our fantastic NAVY SEALS!!! Thank you for all you do!! How can 95 people dislike this video...None of the dislikes came from a veteran
I'm just surprised at the very low # of views of these Make a Wish stories. I'm a Coast Guard and State Guard veteran - (Port Security/MP), and things like this are a glimmer of light in a dark world (not made better by the 95 who gave thumbs down). I'm partially disabled from a stupid car accident and only work part time as a security consultant, but was, at one time, a registered bodyguard. I can't imagine any child making a wish to do what I did/do...but if a sick child did make a wish for it, I'd be honored to do what I could - in a New York second. I much rather videos of these than 80% of the rest of what's on YT

Chemo is tough but BUD/s and the special operations units is very tough.

Ghost112 I was 3 yrs old when I was diagnosed with leukemia. Chemo was terrible. Killed my muscles( I am still trying to rebuild them). Hardest part is being so young and not able to do anything. You want to play with the other kids but you can’t. You’re too weak to do anything.

The fact that a group of the most lethal and precise men on the planet will drop everything they could be doing to help a child is the reason I have hope for this world
It's what makes them the best of the best, a soldier can follow orders, a man, can love, but warriors do both
I love watching these Make A Wish videos. They are all so tear jerking.
I guess just with all the health issues I've been going through lately, watching these kids stay so positive puts a smile on my face.

Rob, you aren't by yourself. I lost a military reserve and civilian career in a split second car accident. And last year had a heart attack and had to have three stents. And I was always in great health. Not all of my "dreams" came true, but I was able to pursue others, and a few did come true. I hate the condition I'm in, but not a damn thing I can do about it...
To the 79 dislikes the cardiologist called they still can't find your heart, God bless Colton and our military. And to the dad in the video your tears are nothing to EVER be ashamed of

I think you can only do the make a wish foundation if it is terminal so idk how long he can fight but idk I just thought I heard somewhere that u can only do it if its terminal

Bravery comes from the heart of a warrior. Regardless of not being able to enlist. You would have been able to fight through anything they threw at you with that heart. Love this story, and you little man are a fuckin US Navy Seal!

I understand this kid and i wish him all best. I allways want to be a special forces, cus due to my health problem i cant even try. It was a disaster for me many years before and still is, but i allways look with a smile on the people who chase their dreams no matter what.
Health problems suck. But maybe somehow you can beat those health problems, the join.

I was in Army JROTC in High School and graduated a Staff Sargeant. I can't join the Army because of my collapsed lung issue that happened 5 years ago and because I was born premature, getting medical papers for a medical waiver would be impossible because some of my doctors were retired and if I got accepted I'd get the worst job ever. I used to run a mile in 7 minutes when I trained thinking I could get in, now I'm depressed and not motivated. My marine grandfather tells me not to become a police officer in my small town but I want to help and protect so badly but the motivation to workout just isn't there.

This is exactly what I was diagnosed with when I was 3. I’m 18 now and 100% cured. I know exactly what this kid went through. The thing they mentioned being in the chest, I remember that. It was so discomforting

Because my partner and I can't legally marry or adopt, we donate to Make A Wish on an annual basis to help the kids and their families. We also have MAW as our only recipient in our wills.

levi gonzalez I just turned 60, he's 61 making it a bit too late for us to adopt kids so we support Make A Wish Foundation [Orlando] and Riley's Children Hospital [Indianapolis] as our two favorite charities (related to kids) instead. And our 2 adopted wild and wacky 'keeps us on our toes' Greyhound think they're our children.
We're happy enough with the way we are set up but we worry about the generation following us. And while we realize that the LGBT generation following us has benefited greatly from our generation's fight for Equal Rights for ALL, the fight's not over and we're still in it because there's a generation following them and them and them.
We will win, maybe not in my generation's lifetime, but we WILL win. Hate is all the haters have and education trumps hate every time.

My sincere sympathy to the family, I have lost a child and understand the pain. To the SEAL command who allowed this to happen - FANTASTIC EFFORT !
I persevere and thrive on adversity. My Nation expects me to be physically harder and mentally stronger than my enemies. If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates and to accomplish our mission. I am never out of the fight.
I love going to the children's hospital in my ACU. I love seeing those kids smile and have a great time talking and hand out gifts because I know I made that kids day and it could be his or her last.

I think we all say it and it goes like this: Never Out of the Fight. What this means is no matter the situation, no matter how dark the skies, no matter how bleak things look... We fight. We fight to the bitter end. I fight with you Colt. I fight with you to the end.

I must say this was pretty moving. I know many ex-marine and army folks, whom are fighting PTSD and some with dismemberments.
I not only wish the kid the best, I wish and pray him the best of health, and to urge to NEVER stop fighting.
