How many ft of sound foam did it take?

I bought 100 1x12” sheets on Amazon and that pretty well covered it.

Big tank to paint. What did you use for paint and did it adhere? I'd hate to spray paint that much. I have a 1650 gal tank I need to paint. Sherwin Williams is telling me due to poly I'd have to try this Extreme Bond Primer that is very expensive. They said paint a 2' square with it and come back a week later and see if it sticks. I don't feel like spending $500 painting this tank that I bought for $390. Thank you.

I got my paint from Lowe’s and I told them what it was going on. So far it has adhered very well but it has been so long ago that I couldn’t tell you what I used. I believe it was just a primer that they tinted to the ASAT base color and I rolled it on pretty quickly after washing the tank off really well. The other brown and black were sprayed on and it didn’t take that long at all. The paint is holding up really well. I probably had $60 in the paint.

CAn you share what you did to frame the door on the inside because I couldn't tell in the video? I have the door cut in mine and hinged but on the top and bottom it kind of gaps about half way across the width of the door so I'm wondering what you would recommend to pull in those gaps? I don't have the technology for the metal frame that it looks like you have hanging on the inside of your door. Thank you.

I took some 1 by firing strips and made a frame out of them on the inside. The ones that ran vertical sit flat on the door and the horizontal ones at the top and bottom are screwed into the horizontal ones from the outside to tighten it up. You’ll have to play around with it because I had the same problem. Then I screwed some more 1 bys vertically into the horizontal braces to make it even sturdier.

What kind of liquid nail did you use everything I’ve found won’t stick

That is what I used and everything has stuck fine. I did wash the inside and outside of mine with dawn heavy duty dish soap though. I don’t know if that might be a difference or not.

Did your windows have any gaps? (Being a square window in a rounded tank) they look perfect in the video just has me confused. I am building 2 of these in the next few weeks so just curious.

    • @korycoleman

No. They suction up perfectly to the blind. I was nervous about that myself.
