yeah just put on what's reasonable, the HP tags are meaningless my buddy had a 2hp it wasn't adequate. has a 5 now and it's nice for the 14 when loaded up w gear.
@kevinfarrell2897 I watched a video the other day and it was a similar thing. He had a 3.5 and it wasn't enough for the river. I thinking if you add some outrigger pontoons for the extra Twenty pounds of engine and everything will be fine.
The brackets are available through Baywood marine. But they are just 1/8" x 1 1/2" aluminum and the screws are 3/4" # 8 that hold them to the seat. Any 3/16" bolt or rivet will attach it to the gunnel if you want to try it on your own. Either way good luck and thanks for the support
I don't think there will be a huge difference on smaller hp motors. I will check out my honda 2.3 tonight and let you know what I use and never had an issue with it.
@@GettenanyOutdoorsSportspal ok thanks . I already have a Honda 2hp 20'' shaft in storage . I guess I have to try it out first to see how it works out with the 14' Wide body . There's a 5 inch difference from hitting Rocks . Lol . Maybe you could ask around at work about it and maybe talk about it in a video .
Yes and no … the side sponsons could be considered secondary ‘backup’ floatation. In normal situations they rarely come in contact with the water. They would only come into play if the canoe were to extremely tip to one side or you had to climb back in after falling out for some reason. These canoes are extremely stable.
The only difference is the decals and capacity recommendations. Radisson is sold in the U.S. market as someone else holds the trademark there. Everywhere else on the globe gets the Sportspal
@@GettenanyOutdoorsSportspal ok second question, is there a 15' wide transom? That seems like it would be perfect for my needs. Thanks so much for your help
I have picked up an 11ft double pointed sportspal that I wish to restore. No leaks, just need parts. Can you suggest a website I can contact in Canada for parts? 👍🏻
Can I remove middle bar an install flat bar to accommodate Scotty asscessories ?
In America 2 horse power means 6 and 3 means 10. Literally every single one of my friends says they'd throw a 5-6hp on that.

Just picked up a 16-footer. The neighbours are getting a bit uncomfortable. I have been touching, rubbing it for a while.
My neighbors get nervous from time to time as well, nothing to worry about lol
nic vid..i have the pointed 14ft .love it...i need new brackets that hold up the seats. where can i get them? or something similar? thanks!

How easy is it to paddle if you can't use a motor
They tend to paddle slowly like a boat. But they have oarlocks to help in a rowing capacity
It rows pretty nice! And i have a wide transom.
Do you guys sell trailers that would go well with the 14 foot wide transom?
We do make trailers but not specifically for canoes they are the Easy Hauler line.
Is it illegal in Canada to put a 5hp on it?
It is above the coast guard recommendations. Not sure if that can get one in trouble. I shall look into it a little bit more. Thanks
NIce , for a 2hp motor what length shaft on this boat 14' wide , Honda sells a 15'' or 20'' will they both work ?

Mine is the 15". So I'm not sure if the 20" would be a problem. Sorry that probably doesn't answer your question

So the side floats are for stability, I think I’ll be looking for a gheenoe 🤔

These boats are extremely stable. And FAR lighter than a gheenoe
