Fantastic! Love seeing these restoration videos! I'll be sending the pics of our abused sports pal we bought as soon as i can for a professional opinion. Been so busy we haven't even got around to making a stand for it yet but im starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. keep up the good work Dave

Awesome Job. 1 day I will order all the parts needed to fix my 1986 12ft sportspal and fix it with your videos.

    Great one, thanks!
I need to acquire that sealant for my busted up SportsPal and a leaky twelve foot other aluminium boat I have but don't like (neither does my dog because he gets soaked and I can't blame him). I've been binging your videos to try and fix my damaged crafts and appreciate you sharing your expertise. I'll try and access the sealant through your links. Out here in B.C. I can't find anything that will stick to aluminum. Cheers dude

After watching this I was inspired to put a thick layer of 3M 5200 along the seam of the nose srem and across the peak of the nose srem. Was coving the peak of the nose srem a mistake? I a little concerned what will happen to the 5200 as it gets drug across rocks. I see you omitted putting Adthane on the peak of the srem. According to the instructions, 3M 5200 takes 7 days to dry, how long does Adthan take to dry?

Are you using regular steel sheet metal screws or are they some type of stainless steel? I have a 14' Sportspal with a leaky nose srem on the bottom of the boat. I tried to tighten the rivets but still leaks. Would 3M 5200 Marine adhesive be good substitute for the Adthane? Thank you.

I've heard it works, never tried it. The screws are just a plain 5/16" sheet metal screw. Just have to make sure screws are completely covered to prevent oxidation, steel + aluminum = not great. Good luck

@@GettenanyOutdoorsSportspal Thank you. Sounds like a good video for the future. Test a few sealants on one canoe.

How can I put an anchor trolley on this canoe .

@jamesdean-q1f never used one however if one were to drill any holes for hardware they shou make sure to only drill through the gunwale parts of the canoe.
