Another beautiful piece, Matthew. You play with such soul, I can see you absorbing the music and putting yourself into it. Love your playing! So soothing.
Btw, I went to school in CB with your Mom & know your Dad, too.
@@bjflynnful thank you! Yes I've been trying to get back and visit them! Mom's coming up for a visit in August and hopefully will get back to see Dad in the near future ☺️
I keep coming back to listen to this song! It calms me down
and still my favorite movie the Deer Hunter! I was in that region of Vietnam during the war!
Wow that's wild! I cannot imagine what that must have been like. The movie really tackles some pretty heavy subject matter and it's heart wrenching what the characters go through. Thanks for watching and sharing your story! All the best, Matt.
Thanks for the comment Matt and great music!
Nice! It's a difficult piece to play that cleanly and beautifully. Bravo!
Thanks Jeff! Yes it's definitely more difficult than it sounds. Cheers!
Amazing! Your tone is glorious.
Thanks Gretchen! I'm a fan of yours so hearing that from you means a lot 😁 Cheers!
Picked up classical guitar again after 20 years. I remember my instructor playing this so beautiful. Loved it back feel the same way about it now..
Thanks Laura! Yes it is a very special piece. I'm glad to hear you are picking classical guitar again! Thanks for sharing your story and all the best to you!

Fantastic sound! Beautiful guitar too
Thanks Sam! It's from a Japanese luthier named Imai. The guitar has some history and it's almost as old as me.

I love this piece, and to play it. but it is so hard. Bravo!

@@MatthewMartinGuitar You're welcome, Matthew, you deserve it. Anyway, we have sent you an email and a DM too, did your receive it?
amazing
Thank you!
Really really wish I started learning guitar as a child.
Me too 😂! I started as a teenager, I had some pretty obsessive first few years playing as much as I could. If I can do it, so can you!
Never too late to start 🎉
Maravilloso
Muchas gracias!
Fantastic. good timing , pauses and expressions.. !
Thank you Cosimo! It's such a moving piece I try my best to let it breathe as it should. Cheers 🍻!

Hi Matthew!
This is an absolutely beautiful version of one of my favourite pieces of music which I've loved since I was 6 years old. Really lovely playing with great feel in every phrase. Am having this piece played at my wedding next month. Thank you for sharing this with us
Best Wishes
Chris
Thanks Chris! I listened to your playing of this piece too. I'm a big fan of that surf rock/spaghetti western guitar tone man! It sounds awesome for Cavatina too!
Congratulations and all the best with your wedding next month!
@@MatthewMartinGuitar Thank you so much for listening and your kind comments on my version of Cavatina. Means a lot to receive them. The original piece is being played when we sign the register :)
Best Wishes
Chris

Thank you! Cheers from NS!
Nice ❤
Great music and excellent performance 👏🎸👍thank you good luck
Thank you so much! All the best to you with your guitar playing as well Lucyna!
👋
Yeah, You definitely play from time to time :) In these slower pieces it shows how mature the player really is. Technical prowess is nothing if not accompanied with a wee bit of soul. Good job!
Thanks and agreed, Marek. It's one of the reasons I dig your playing of Slopes of Blessure. A slower tempo gives it more time to breathe and it can really sing!
@@MatthewMartinGuitar Yet not many people are this way. I feel they admire only technical difficulty and speed. But the real beauty is elsewhere, at least for me. If you want to hear a great Witcher piano cover I recommend VanessaMPiano and her Kaer Morhen (see th-cam.com/video/sUN-O5VKyTY/w-d-xo.html)
Es hermosooo
Muchas gracias!
EXCELENTE TEMA EN GUITARRA, DESDE CHILE III REGION D.D.A......
Esta música es una poesía a la vida
Gracias Jorge!
This is so perfect.. as a student, i wish one day i can masterize this song…
Thanks! Yes, this piece is a real milestone in your playing. It took me a long time to get comfortable with it, so many barre chord! Best of luck learning this piece 👍
You are a beautiful man!!!
Fantastic performance, sounds gorgeous
Thank you so much!
@MatthewMartinGuitar you have invested a lot of time to play these compositions, Matthew. And it really shows. I'm looking forward to your next video. All the best ... Lawson
Mathew, check out Sebastiao Tapajos from Brazil, a very famous composer, I have a Playlist on guitarlots with his first album from the late 60s, the man is a genius like Baden Powell
@@guitarlots thanks for the recommendation Lawson! I'm always open to anyone who can be compared to Maestro Baden Powell!
@@MatthewMartinGuitar Sebastiao Tapajos is a machine
Superb!! It seems easy how you play it but I know it is not since I'm still struggling to make it sound right in my classical guitar :)
Thanks JoMat! Yes, it's always the easiest sounding pieces that are the hardest to play. Keep working away and you'll get there bud! Cheers!
Beautifully played and wonderful tone! I do have one camera question for you as I also love the look of your video with the bokeh (blurry/out of focus background, in focus subject). What cameras and lenses did you use to shoot your video? I’d like to make some similar videos of my playing and would like to achieve a similar look. Love the lights in the background as well. Thanks for any info on my question and keep up the great playing!
Thank you! I'm using the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens on my t5i dslr camera. The lens really gets that soft bokeh and is a great value. The only downside is that my camera is a cropped sensor so the camera has to be pretty far away from me if I want to get me and my guitar in the shot. I know there are apps that can make the background blurry for smartphone videos, so that is an option to look into. The video gear can be so pricey and there's lots to learn but I'm happy to talk about it anytime! Best of luck with your videos and thanks for watching!
awesome bro, u mind doing a Miller's Crossing?
Thanks man! Do you mean the main theme from Miller's Crossing?

@@arnavlokhande9448 always looking for my subscribers want to hear! Thanks for sharing and I will check those songs out! Cheers!
Perfect performance! How long did it take you to learn and master this piece?
Thanks Michael! This took a few months to learn initially and I'm still working on the mastery part! I've been playing Cavatina for years now so it's like an old friend at this point.
Thanks again for watching and all the best to you!
Beauty!
Thanks Mikay!
I wouldn't mind myself :)
