The contrast between those who understood and those who didn't when Admiral Raddus said "May the Force Be With You" and what it meant. Truly one of the best SW films and remarkable because they planned for no sequels which would have been a tough sell for an industry which does everything it can to develop successes into a series to keep the money coming in. But the film makers were dedicated to keeping the emotional impact of the ending.
Me and my buddy both watched this opening night in theater knowing they all had to die. His wife didn’t. Needless to say she was not happy when we talked about it after the movie
And this is what happens when the prequel is filmed... 40? years after the original. Everyone must die to explain why they are not on the original series. Still it hits the feels.
Now go back to Star Wars A New Hope. There's a brief scene where the rebels are gathering around a table, and one of them says something about what it cost to get those plans. When viewed in order of in-universe timeline, the chills because of the call back to a very specific moment the very first Star Wars film.
No, that's Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi talking about how many Bothans died to get the information that the Emperor was going to be on the second Death Star. There was no mention of the brave rebels who stole the plans after the initial text crawl in A New Hope.
Самый любимый фильм в саге "Звёздные войны" наравне с Episode 5! Военная драма! Огромное количество эмоций подарил этот фильм! Фанаты повзрослели. Это прекрасно, что есть Rogue 1 и сериал Andor.
I really like this movie. But not only did they die, their achievement, their sacrifice and the fact that they provided the means to end the Empire were completely disrespected, ignored and forgotten by the rebel leadership. Because, apparently, only Bothans sacrificed and died to get these plans.🤨
Tarkin played politics by getting rid of Krennic. He weakened the Empire to do it. Palpatine wasn't happy. That's on the Death Star, he was waiting for the Emperor to order him to kill Tarkin
Some critics said the explosion scene was a rip off of the ending of Melancholia, which is kind of stretch because that one was a meteor colliding with a planet, rather than a massive laser blast from a superweapon. I suppose it's similar in that it is a dour end in which every main character left just sits down and accepts their deaths, plus the camera angles of their final fates were similar. Anyway, the movies are so different in every other way that it felt like a pointless jab that more arty critics did simply to dismiss a mainstream movie. Personally, I was more annoyed about this ending for the characters, rather than sad. Jin's father created the most powerful weapon in history to ensure his daughter wouldn't be killed, but she died anyway; he may as well have done nothing and let the Empire kill her. It would have saved Alderaan some trouble. lol I guess there was a possibility that the Empire would have found another way to build a Death Star, and it wouldn't have the chain reaction built into its design (which, again, is something I don't care for, but that's another issue). And had the Death Star not been built, the Emperor wouldn't have become so overconfident as to risk his safety in the second one.
Galen didn't help build the Death Star to save his daughter--she was already gone from his presence and he had no idea if she was even alive anymore. The thought and memory of her drove him to passively resist the Empire by putting the weakness in it. That's why he sent Bohdi to deliver the message to Saw rather than Jyn. Jyn had the agency as an adult to choose her own path in life; she chose to risk her life to help a cause greater than herself, and she succeeded at the cost of her own life--that is the essence of a hero.
Calling this movie a spin-off to the saga is a disservice to everyone who had a hand in making it; Solo was a spin-off, this movie is Episode 3.5. Or maybe 3.9 since it takes place just before A New Hope.
Yeesh, remind me never to watch anything by that Sebscreen guy. Rambling, laughing, losing track of the plot, forgetting movies he's actually watched, and calling the most emotional moment in the film "anticlimactic" as it's happening.
My only beef with the movie is how lazy it was. It could of bern perfect if they broke it up into two movies. Allowing more time to get back stories of all the main characters. Give us more reason to care for the last moment. It was a good movie, just felt rushed for no reason. It made the ending a bit meh… 🤷🏻♂️
I wasn't really a fan of this film. For one thing, I like how the plans were acquired in the EU (or "Legends" as they call it now) books. And for another thing, I hate how they made the good guys (the Rebels) kind of squirrely. (The orders to kill Jen's father made "off the books", and the way Cassian killed the informant in cold blood (I know why he did it, but it was still not what good guys would do). I also don't like how the storyline was changed of how the Mon Cal joined the Rebellion (in the EU, the Mon Cal cruisers didn't join until after TESB)
@@cinema_reactions_hub There are PLENTY of differences. The entire storyline has changed. In the books, Luke established a new jedi order, and after the empire surrendered, the big bad is something totally new-not a "First Order" but an extra-galactic threat. There are so many changes, and frankly the plot of the movies are worse in almost every instance in my opinion

The only Star Wars movie nobody asked for, but everybody loved.

Right in the bull's-eye
One of the most poignant scenes ever... The sacrifice those characters made was crazy...😭
A real war movie.

Best Star Wars film
That's what I think, too.

С обзиром ја је Џин Ерсо жива у једној од игара,сам филм нема никаквог смисла.

Ah yes, Rogue One. The only good Star Wars movie made by Disney.
Rogue One was great. Han Solo was fun but nothing spectacular. I don't talk about the other films.
TFA, TLJ? Solo?
They’re all good movies aswell dude
Darth Stinky!
That’s Vader’s new title and you can’t change my mind
That must set us up for future movies...lmao

Thanks 🔥

Actually, Melancholia involved a rogue planet literally destroying Earth.

I was wondering who are your favorite reactors?
@@cinema_reactions_hub Alex Hefner is goofy but enjoyable.
Оде Скариф и друштванце с њим заједно..."буши,неће да плате!"
Unfortunately, this scene cuts right before one of the greatest scenes in all the star wars movies!
You mean this scene?
