Please do an updated DCA rope drop strategy video like your recent Disneyland one.
Agreed!
yes!!
Will do.
Yes please 🙌🏼
+1
Personally, I would put the Tiki Room on this list too. I feel like it’s really underrated and no one really ever mentions it in these videos. It’s been one of my favorites since I was a kid. Plus, there’s never a long wait, there’s lots of seating, and it’s air conditioned, so it’s a perfect respite on a hot day. Just my two cents though. 😁
Great point. I did exactly that this past Saturday when it was busy everywhere
And you can bring a snack!
This video really makes me want to experience a Lightning Lane-free Disneyland, or any Disney park for that matter. Lightning Lane and Mobile Order are total self-fulfilling prophecies: they wouldn't be necessary to use if they didn't exist, if that makes sense.
He does have a video he posted where he experienced an "analog" day. The whole video he didn't use his phone to mobile order, or check wait times.
SO glad Disneyland is learning that mobile order suuuuuuucks and a huge portion of guests will never use it. Food arrives cold. Can’t customize orders. Let’s hope Rancho and Plaza Inn are the first of many to revert!
Back when the parks re-opened after the Covid closure, Genie+ wasn't a reality yet and they didn't have fastpass anymore so every ride was a regular stand by. It was fantastic. I know the crowds were lower since they were limiting reservations and people were still hesitant to go out into heavily crowded places, BUT the lines moved and were easy waits. Space mountain was super easy to get onto but as soon as lighting lane came along, we would rarely ride it since the standby is so painful to wait in. That last hallway before the standby and lightning lane lines merge is miserable. It's loud and stuffy and just a slog as you wait to see if your group will make the cut. I would love if they tried for just a month removing any and all lightning lanes. I think the results would be surprising, at least among passholders.
Was there too, and agree. Experienced lovely queues we’d never seen before, it was great.
Did you forget Small World? Like pirates, It’s got big boats that load/unload large numbers quickly…that is ultimately the key to this strategy.
He mentions Small World!
He mentioned it at 8:00
FreshBaked. David, When you walked past "Snow Whites Adventures" the Queen opened the curtains and looked down on you. Be very carefull I think she has her eye on you. She might need you to go up and see her sometime just don't let her turn you into an apple. Apart from all that a great way to have a stress free day at D/land. Cheers, Chris Perry.
David, have you considered putting up a list of what you consider to be good wait times for every ride in both Disneyland and DCA?
anyone who spends money at pedo disney is either a pedo or one sick puppy.
Good vibes attitude during a busy day can take you a long way to still have a magical day! You are the king of good vibes and attitude!
Thrill-data has what you need
@whoopiecushion68 Yes, I've seen that, I've also noticed times David thinks are good are different from some of the averages
Agreed on Dumbo. That is a PAINFUL line to wait in...
Enchanted Tiki room...
“Interrupted like thing like breakdowns or lighting lane.”
Both those things = Indiana Jones Adventure and Rise of the Resistance.
They’re always temporarily closed 😂
For Pirates of the Caribbean right side used to be superior as left side would normally have to go back down by the treehouse and back up. Now they make the right side loop around towards the left line and back. Also the right side (from my observations) where they load DAS riders.
Helpful overall, as always! A comment and question to add!
Comment: it IS important to be aware that the Plaza Inn will have little-to-NO outside available seating at SOME times of the day! Those times are usually tied to the "reserved" areas for those on paid tours &/or dining packages connected to parades &/or nighttime shows! I've got BOTH for my upcoming Sept. trip!
Question/request: PLEASE consider a similar video &/or list/tips/conversation re: the attractions with "single rider" options! Though few, it would be VERY helpful to know which DO have SR options, especially if those SAME attractions have G+ */or LL's as well! THAT info is hard to find and overwhelming for the occasional visitor to flush out! TIA!
Your Disneyland rope drop video was AWESOME. Thank you again for it. My husband and I are planning a trip soon and we’re using your exact strategy.
Great tips! My family just went to Disneyland a few weeks ago and found all the attractions that you listed to be easy waits. We also ate at Rancho Del Zocalo and loved the food and large, covered seating area! I also love when you talk about what the lines look like compared to what you think the wait will be. Since I'm not a local and don't go to Disneyland all the time I have a hard time figuring out what lines I should and shouldn't get into. Thanks for your great, helpful videos!!
Great Mexican at Rancho
My recommendations are the Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer's Island for when it is busy. And a special mention of the Canoes.
I love the fantasyland dark rides, but those feel slow to me, especially Alice and Pan. Maybe because of how narrow the inside of the lines are
I was with you until fantasyland. Those lines feel eternal
FRESHBAKED is DISNEYLAND!!
ONE OF MY DISNEYLAND BUCKET LIST is to be in a FRESHBAKED VIDEO!!
Love the walk and talk, but don't like the ride footage. Always like to watch Freshbaked, but don't want to see the attraction. Like to keep that for when I'm in the park. EVEN though I have been on the Pirates ride close to 500 times, still don't watch outside of the park.
I’ve been going to Disneyland for over 50 years. And I have never eaten at the Plaza Inn. When but I will in December when my wife and I go again. Thanks for the video, Dave.
so lets get rid of gene plus and lighting lane and im sure that wait time will be easy and less time and maybe people will be happy i have not been to disneyland since 2003 but since i follow fresh baked i can finally get caught up on what change since 2003 so thank you freah baked for let me get caught up with your video and i hope Disney will get rid of gene plus and lighting lane just saying fresh baked
David, I can’t deny the Red Chile Enchilada Platter at Rancho as one of my top go to’s in the park. In fact I might just have to go out there tomorrow to treat myself!
Big Mahalo for explaining the dining at Plaza Inn! Very helpful!
I've never had a problem with the Matterhorn queue. Yes, it can be long, but its covered, you get the music and views of the mountain, overall, its enjoyable to me.
So many decorations, artwork and artifacts to see while waiting for Jungle Cruise
Eating times are crucial. The Mexican restaurant closes early when they run Fantastmic. Plaza is great except when parades are going on.
Thanks for the tips!
Me and my mum are coming from the UK to Disneyland for the first time in December. It’s a joint trip for my 50th and her 70th.
We arrive mid afternoon from San Francisco and plan to head to Pinocchio first. Pinocchio is my all time favourite Disney film and as we’ll miss rope drop, we thought we’d go there first on our half day
Thank you for Disneyland updates. 👍😁👍
Great tips!!! Thank you!
I will be visiting on Dec 18, and I haven't been to Disneyland in over 10 years. I usually visit WDW. I am going to depend on you to help me plan my trip! Thanks for giving good information in a mature way. I'm seeing so much silliness with vloggers lately!
I like riding the monorail in the afternoon when you are getting tired. It is very relaxing and gives you a nice break
LOVED your Rope Drop video. Very very helpful for those of us looking to maximize our mornings. Thank you so much, David, for that.
I used your rope drop strategy and it worked amazingly!!
Yes, that is why we watch Fresh Baked!
Thank you FreshBaked! For dropping this Recon much appreciated BayArea fan.
Wow, thank you for this wonderful advice!
Great video just last week I turned into Eric Cartman waiting for Space Mountain in standby. I also got denied waiting for Disneyland railroad. I love these suggestions on dining too!
Awesome video! Would love to see a similar one about DCA. Super helpful!
I’m surprised that you didn’t say the Mark Twain! The castle walk through is a definite break with never a backup. Also, it’s not a dark ride but the Carousel with its wonderful music is always a break for our family. And we are all ‘bigs’ now no ‘littles’ but we still love those attractions.
Thank you for the tips!
I’m so glad Disney took mobile order out of Rancho. I could never understand why the return window would be 30+ minutes out and then there was no one else picking up food when I get there. The worst part was the standby line would be all the way out the door. I think Disney needs to manually adjust the return window based on actual usage when this happens at other food locations (Hungry Bear).
One of my favorite YT😊 so helpful and full of joy 🥹
I love this!! 😊😊 thank you!!
Love all these tips! Thank you for theae videos, looking forward to using all your tips when we go in two weeks!!
Just so you know, I think he's going early and that's why it's like that...or maybe due to the specific day. My family has passes but we don't go on weekends and we tend to go in the afternoon and it's a flipped experience.
ZoCalo has a longer wait, probably because only 2 registers and it sucks that there's hardly any place to put your tray... (I bring silicone lids to put over drinks because they don't give lids...).
The Galaxy's Edge restaurant tends to have plenty of space and goes quickly for us...almost every time. Opposite of ZoCalo.
The mainstream dining he showed is also pretty busy in our experience BUT it goes fast! They have at least four registers and seem more "on it". We personally don't like to feel cramped so we eat outside at that location because inside is always packed when we go, and even the outside can be a challenge for a place to sit.
Peter Pan is rarely ever under 40 mins in our experience. During the holiday season it averages at 55. And it does take that long. Lol It's still worth it if you can't return anytime soon.... it's one of my favorites but we don't go on it much because of the wait.
Anyway, if you're going for rope drop or on a weekend I think that's when David's tips will work fine! Otherwise I'd be aware it could be super different. 💖 🏰🧚♂️ Have a great time!
I just love to see your enjoy, ent of the park!
I'm new and enjoy watching about Disneyland. It brings back some really good memories
Thanks
Patti
Great information David, thanks!
I just enjoyed seeing Disneyland again in this video. ❤
Thanks so much for this! I feel less stressed about doing all the rides we want to do.
This vlog was perfect timing for helping us plan our trip! Thank you so much!!Are you planning on doing one like this in the other park???
Great advice, thanks
Thanks. Going to my last trip to Disneyland in a couple of weeks. This has been very helpful.
My family and I hope to see you in the Parks this week!!
This and the rope drop video you just posted are so great! Going next month to Disneyland for the first time and your content has been awesome for planning keep these kinds of videos going!
I would add Rivers of Americas attractions: Canoes, Mark Twain/Columbia, and Tom Sawyers' Island.
This has been my strategy since I was a teenager. Lol but I did learn some new stuff with the new world of genie and etc. Great video!! 👍
Extremely helpful I was super stressed my last trip going to try some of these
Those are my always recommendations for first time visitors or people who haven’t been in a white
Love these tip videos. You're making me want to get in some of these lines when I'm not with the wheelchair user. I haven't seen the Jungle Cruise queue in ages - we're always using the wheelchair access through the exit.
Great ideas! I will definitely take advantage.
My family and I ran into you right after your send off. I’m the dude “fanboying” with the red Mr. Incredible shirt at the very end of your video. Made my families vacation that much more special. Great video Dave!
Fresh Baked!!❤
Great informative video! Felt like the ole times before our cell phones at the parks.
Love mobile order at Gibson girl so fast
You should have mentioned Indiana Jones. It may break down a lot but the lightning lane only goes until you enter the temple, which is nothing. And it is like runaway railway where the queue is very enjoyable once you are in the temple.
I love your videos so much. This was a really really helpful one. We are going in September for 5 days with our three-year-old and our seven-year-old. For our three-year-old it will be his first time going. So so so excited.
Outstanding my brother, you provide an invaluable service
awesome!
Amazing video! Only suggestion from me would be removing railway, the entire indoor portion was fine until it got to the outside switchbacks which were a vibe killer. If it’s a lighter day I’d definitely consider it but not after my most recent ride today.
I used to go straight to the Pirates Ride then Haunted Mansion when I arrive at the park...when it opens.
David, in that Fantasy tunnel back in the 80s 90s there was a blown glass shop with artists blowing the glass figures, I miss that
When my sister and I were looking for a place for Breakfast, we went to Rancho Del Zocalo. They had really great food for Breakfast, like pancakes, eggs etc and breakfast meat but that was 5 yrs ago but who knows now hopefully they still do.
We "discovered" Casa Whatsit in May, even though we've been to DL countless times, for some reason we just never ate there. But last time, we ate there a couple of times, and now it's on our A List.
We do *at least* one meal, usually more, at Plaza Inn. We love it.
The lack of working fans in the Jungle Cruise queue makes the wait fairly unbearable on a hot day even if it's only for 30 minutes.
The queue for Snow White and other Fantasyland attractions would benefit from having fans installed to keep the air from being so oppressively stagnant.
This is exactly why there should be no fast pass or lightning lane period. The lines post Covid were amazing because they were always moving
Hey David, I greeted you as you were leaving Disneyland today! I said “Fresh Baked!” I’m from Guam. I follow your channel, love your content. ❤ I was wearing the Aviator shades.
I like waiting patiently when ever I’m in line to meet characters at Disneyland and Disney California adventure but if it’s a long line for me i don’t wait in the longer lines for characters ☺️
In our experience Peter Pan is only under 40-50 mins at the very end of the day, or super early. We tend to go later. I LOVE that ride but I feel you - we pass it up if it's that long unless we haven't been in 4-5 visits/can't return for a while.
.I think that's why during the holidays it's an average of 55-60 mins, at least during the week. If you have money and time to go on the weekends I think that's when it's shorter.
ZoCalo is also a longer wait when we go and there's usually not much seating. We've sometimes had to wait for a table to open up, and take it while it's dirty because rather not stand there longer and wait. Lol
Completely agree with all these suggestions. We look to these and the Mark Twain for a relaxing day. Bonus at Rancho is proximity to Big Thunder! We like Plaza Inn for the mains and also the free coffee refills.
Peter Pan queue always feels long to me, but I do it anyway. I don't know if it's how they pack you in those tight little switchbacks or how many times you hear "C'mon everybody, here we GOOOOOOOO!" or what.
Hi Dave!!!
My trip last year was only doing these rides for a whole week because my kids aren’t tall enough for the big rides and I was alone with them
We had an amazing time
I don’t need big rides I just need the atmosphere
Hello David. We like to watch your videos to get ideas. We thought that the Plaza Inn was just for reservations for birthday parties. So glad to hear we can go inside for a meal! ❤️
Oh my you've been missing out on plaza inn all this time?
@@FreshBakedDisney yes. Until the next time we visit Disneyland. Then we will definitely have a meal at Plaza Inn, thanks to your video. 🤗❤️
Hey David! Could you do a video on how to maximize your day as a solo visitor? I go by my own fairly often. Thanks!
In the Magic Kingdom at WDW, it's a LL attraction, and it totally kills the queue. We hate it.
Jungle Cruise is soooo overwhelming though.
I think that tiki room and the Winnie the Pooh deserve a spot the list as well
Most of the rides without Fast Pass move well, it is the rides that allow others to go in first and a Cast member that is not good at moving people that cause problems.
Other easy hack for independent people is Single rider for Matterhorn, Space, Radiator Springs Racers, and Grizzly River Run
Hey Fresh Baked!!
Really enjoyed this info! The camera wasn’t as clean and smooth as your normal videos meaning this one was a lot more shaking and sounds were loud then quite, but really really fun info video
2 LL attractions in Fantasyland. Matterhorn and Small World.
Why does SMALL WORLD of all rides have an LL? 😂
@@bemiatto67 to increase family friendly LL count, Holiday version.
Stop giving them our secrets, Dave! ;)
Tarpd are down on Treehouse
15:31 I’ve never rode Peter Pan without an excruciating and boring wait
lol
Pirates always
I wondered why you never suggested hitting Jungle Cruise early. It is LL in Orlando.
No Ronto Roasters or Docking Bay 7, I'm kind of surprised as they're some of your favorites I thought.
intentionally chose locations that are not on mobile order.
@@FreshBakedDisney That's right, you did say that.
You're great. I hope you come out of this disaster by Disney with a job
I always wondered who was able to bypass the standby lane in Pirates of the Caribbean LOL
If my health was at 100 percent … and it will be again … soon …. I love being stressed out !!!!!
It doesn’t bother me !!!
