    4:45 These contacts are coroded. I've got the same model and I've reflowed them with some fresh lead solder, used wick to remove excess and make contacts flat. It works again to this day.

    You should ALWAYS have a backup of your critical files on another drive AND in another location such as the cloud! Dropbox, OneDrive, and Apple Drive is great for that!!!

      I think i learned this on the hardest way. My important files were in a external hard drive who is now damaged.

    Knocked an external Seagate 2 TB drive over, and it vanished from my PC, watching this video convinced me that it was beyond me to fix it, so you saved me from making a huge mistake, as I think it's the head embedded in the actual disk, exactly like that one. I have sought pro help though, so fingers crossed.......

    Those four pins are for jumpers. I own a good amount of hard disks with those.

    Can we change the plates inside the broken hard drive with a new hard drive will it work?

      I just opened the same drive it uses a t6 bit

    i've lost 2 TB of data to seagate and won't recommend it even to my enemy
