I like smaller screens. I am an a51 user that came from the a3 2016. it is 4.7 inches while my a51 is too big for me ( 6.5 ). I wish they had smaller screens, like 6 inches to 6.2 inches or less.
I recommend a samsung galaxy S9. It's perfectly usable on Android 10 literally just beats the A51 in almost every category (excluding camera(s), screen SIZE, and battery. I reeeally recommend you buy renewed samsung flagships since they're basically new but sold at half the cost. (Amazon.com/renewed - only place I trust for quality renewed phones, currently got a pixel 4xl, basically in factory condition, that I got from Amazon renewed for $250. Everything works and looks in mint condition 🤙

Everytime I buy a phone I tend to do research for something different but that of the same specs and price range. I went from A71 to S9 Plus to Pixel 4XL (pixel 4 XL after the S9 Plus due to it having an 855 SD along with a 60hz - 90hz variable [Forced 90hz is also an option], and a larger battery. All for $250. My S9 Plus cost me $260 and A71 $360. Sure A series phones will be yearly optimized and recieve new features but they won't have the optimization of a phone that was meant to be a flagship. That's why I'm literally able to compare a 3 year old flagship against a 6 month old mid range. It's up to the consumer I have nothing against your opinion. Forgot to add - Phones tend to last me less than a year (at work 🤦♂️) but I have used them all with social media and games such as PUBG and CODM. So far the Pixel 4XL has been my best option.

One difference I found is that the galaxy A01 is that the volume rocker is separate from the power button and the A02 is beside the power button

Gaming and Video Editing has always worked smoothly on the a01 for me. Not sure what Kevin was talking about.
