@@melbournemumma2700 In the bottom, there IS a fan in the bottom, helping to remove the heat faster from the heatsink, which is conducting it away from the hot side of the thermoelectric Peltier-effect cooling plate (which is reversible, that's why you have the second setting; for that one there's no point running the fan as it would be blowing air through an already cold heatsink in that scenario).
+Malcolm Anderson well, i just happen to leave that Dr Pepper in overnight...... Eh... Its ok. dropped a few more degrees. The key is to make sure its cold before it goes in. It will keep it cooler, longer.
I just recieved a mini usb frig. ?? Will this thing run on a charger or usb port, Instructions say computer usb only. Wth, the ad did not say computer required. I wiuld not have bought this thing if i had know this
Switch it to heat. Put a glass of water inside. It absorbs heat from the surrounding area. Periodically dump the hot water out for fresh cold water. Repeat. USB powered mini air conditioner. 👍
+My Almost Relevant Life Yeah, it's a win as a novelty but only that. I had kinda thought it might work like a real fridge, but no. Buys you some time on a cold one, but not much more.
I purchased a Cooluli, because you do need to wait for drinks to cool off for Peltier style coolers. Having a cold six pack on hand is more worth it to me.
It is designed to keep already cool drinks cool and the l position on the switch is for cooking and the ll position is for heat and by the way you can in fact get a bigger version of this that you can fit two regular cans in and a bottle too just make sure before you put a drink in it is cool it is just designed to keep your beverage cool
if you turn it upside down it will probably work much better as cold air falls downwards over the drink. cooling a drink from the bottom is not the best idea.
lol... at first i thought you were trolling... but that actually makes some sense. Not sure there would be a major change though. Yeah, cool air would go down... but you would loose the contact with the plate. i would wager that the contact draws the heat faster than it it dissipating via radiating through cooler air. Interesting approach though. ill more than a little curious now.
yes my comment was very simplistic but typing on this awful tablet of mine I didn't want to go into detail. you are 100% correct if it loses contact then it probably will negate any benefit. I suppose what I should have really said was that the designers should have designed it the other way up with a spring loaded bottom to maintain contact etc. then it definitely would be a lot more effective!! take care.
One way to solve this is using copper plates all around the inside of the USB refrigerator, so that the cooling is somewhat more efficient, no matter the orientation. One plate is in contact with the Peltier cold side, the rest is only connected to it.
How to cool a drink for free. Get a sock, soak it in water, place drink inside sock, point fan at sock or hang sock in a breeze. The evaporating water cools the beverage down just like evaporating sweat cools you down during a workout.
bro this works with a THERMOELECTRIC PELTIER COOLING UNIT, . THIS IS A NEW TECH FROM 16' VERY CHEAP TO ALMOST GET ON SIDE OF THE 'CHIP' TO FREEZE. SORRY FOR ALL CAPS
As a very white white boi, 72 degrees is like, unbearably warm room temp. I like my rooms about 62 and always have a fan on, so I'd rather spend more on something with a different coo... wait I don't even want a mini fridge, how did I get here?
4:08 LOL " Latter" instead of Later, This dude has no idea how these work, it has a TEC or Peltier cooler in it. and the one you have is hot garbage, they make better ones
These are white elephant gifts and a waste of time. I had a mini fridge that has a power brick that went on my desk, held maybe 3 cans of soda. Would actually collect ice inside on the metal. Downside is it uses a lot of energy and really, just get up and go to the fridge. 😆
6:40 how dare you. Windows is great and being used the most. But apple is still faster and better. Btw windows is just a Programm. Apple IS a whole company
You can get a windows computer of the same performance of an apple for like a fourth of the price. Yes Mac has a good video editing but that’s it. Windows is a company... microsoFt lol
more than most likely it is cooled by a thermoelectric cooler aka a Peltier cooler
It might actually work if it does that I think its just a fan
@@rajgill7576 He said there was no fan it in though

It needs some moddifing, i suggest some thin Foam core borad with a peel and stick adhisive side so you can basicly make it a foam cooler
It's got a Peltier module on the top. They switched off the fan for the other mode because it reverses that for keeping stuff warm.
I'm curious as to what it does over night. How cool will the pop get?

@@Farmtractor yes its a scam
72 degrees??? That's hot as fuck!
are you simon pegg's brother

USB powered mini air conditioner. 👍
If anyone's wandering, the setting with no moving fan is a heating setting. Its more effective than its cooling setting.
Not what I expected this to be. I've seen it around and thought it looked cool, but now....glad I didn't pick it up!
Thanks for the video!
+My Almost Relevant Life Yeah, it's a win as a novelty but only that. I had kinda thought it might work like a real fridge, but no. Buys you some time on a cold one, but not much more.
Next, prepare for the USB powered micro-toilet!
I use to want this like 4 years ago from Amazon
Shouldn't the inside be made of metal? Wouldn't it cool better/faster and also other things besides cans?
Very glad you showed that the bigger energy drink cans don't fit
It may just be easier to have a cool box and fill with it with iceblocks

what 74 degrees? what are you talking about I don't get it . is it a heater water boils at 100
He is using the Fahrenheit system, where water freezes at 32 and boils at 212 degrees. 74 is about room temperature
An hour later and the drink is still warm. I would say that is definitely a fail.

I put 4000 mah to it and zit. I suspect it might work if you can really put some higher power to it, computers are good for like 3000mah
The silence mode is heat
well this costs $50 in my country and i bought it, thought it was worth it...
Does it work connecting to an Xbox one USB?
A Blue Spartan yeah
If its a usb itll work, ive plugged mine into a wall before

I think it’s for people at work, not at home
Yeh best thing to do with it 😂 smash it useless 👎 bucket of ice b better
Great vid buddy😉 so basically it's turd
Bought 1 didn't work
Am I the only who thinks it looks like juggernog
A redbull drink won't fit in there, right?
No... i doubt it. It only has a 5 1/2' space. i think a redbull is 6"
U said it was shit then gave it an amazeballs hmmmm
Can you use it with a power bank?
power bank? like a usb phone charger? yes... I was using a iPad charger instead of using a computer. The plate cooled just fine.
So it does nothing but look "cool"... It's just a fan with a heat dissipation Element.
Crap!! Doesn't chill drinks
