- So what is a Bolt camera motion control system? What does a camera motion control robot do and how does it help you if you want to sell a product, shoot eye-popping live action sequence, shoot miniature sets and models, shoot dynamic time-lapse content, shoot a music video, or want if you want to duplicate real life camera moves into CGI workflows?
To answer some of these questions we’ve compiled this video with behind the scenes and actual footage from some of our projects, as well as set up a series of examples of some of the applications and principals of motion control.

Incredible. An absolute godsend. I’m definitely using motion control cameras as compact and easy to operate as these in my future filmmaking career. These cameras are going to be incredibly useful when filming miniature models, I want to use as little CGI as possible in all my films and TV shows.

What is the average rate to charge when using this? I understand there are other costs but for a huge group of photographers it is just not cost effective unless the jobs can bring in the revenue. Seems very nice but not practical for a vast majority of product photographers. I may be wrong but this is new to me. I love but never spend on something that cannot bring back ROI.
So please what is the average per day rate for the use of the camera motion control?
Hello - this equipment is primarily for capturing motion video, though it does have applications in the photography world for time-lapse applications. I got a few questions, why do you bother using a TV as background when you can digitally insert the unreal engine created video in post into the shot? Eliminates pixels being seen by viewer which occur of the display of the tv. And; how do you make the waypoints, do you physically train the robot the move, or is there a trick to train its waypoints?
If you're filming something like a glass the only way to get the right reflections is with a virtual background. On the Bolt the keyframes are made in the Flair software.
Hello @JCD87, apologies for late reply. Pixels on TV only become issue when you focus on the LED / TV plane, otherwise pixels should remain out of focus to avoid aliasing. Always best to shoot against a screen if you can - just like news readers standing in front of screens to present weather / sport etc - remember the days of them standing in front of blue screen? Always looked awful and obvious. Regarding waypoints, yes we program the robot to hit ceratin parts of the move, and becuase it is rendering the output on the screen in realtime, the contents of the screen change accordingly - just the same as when you look out a window - if you move you head when you look out a window, the 'contents' in the window changes - same concept to rendering realtime images on a LED / screen.

Hi - this video is a really useful tool for our new clients and teams who haven't worked with camera motion control before to get familiar with our system. Especially as during a severe COVID lockdown in Victoria Australia our studios were closed to new production so this video was a good way to get eyeballs on the robot. So it's not so much an ad as more of a demo video - thus no call to action until the end of the video (:
