Anytime i see hailey ,all i can think about is the way she stood up for her teammate this year. She has become my 2nd favorite college player off that alone .

I love Hailey Van Lith's game even though I (along with many others) have been critical of her recently. If she is running away from the SEC how is she gonna handle the WNBA? If she thought guarding Caitlin Clark was hard, wait until she runs into Chelsea Gray, Arike Ogunbowale, or Jewell Loyd. She just needs to gain her confidence back on defense, and put up great numbers at TCU, then with some development she can get to where she needs to be.

I had the same thoughts! She needs to get serious improvements on defense before W

Confidence on defense? HVL never was a lockdown defender nor elite defensively no kinda way. She was a decent help defender and without lateral quickness she is always going to be a defensive liability. I still think she can make a pro team.

@@politicallil7060 I agree, she was never elite as a defender, and even if she was her size will be an issue at the next level. I simply meant that she needs to get her confidence back so she isn't a liability, which she arguably was at times at LSU. Going back to her natural position (SG) should help her relax a bit on D.

Good video. I don't know why exactly she chose TCU, but one interesting angle is that Haley will have had the experience of playing in the ACC, SEC, and now the Big 12. Variety is the spice of life. Why is she hiding from the Big Ten?😃

Her purpose for coming to LSU was to add PG to her skill set at the request of pro scouts. Mulkey said 100 times. She got the experience but her suspect play and exposure on defense ruined her draft stock. Her style of play didn't fit an urban or playground style of basketball played in the SEC. Now she is gonna back track to run with some girls who play a more suburban style of basketball which is more fundamental and less creative on the fly. Its like the difference between pop an jazz music I think. Its like rebranding herself again. Think will be fine. To shine as a PG in the SEC you have to have elite creative skills like Fuwuley on both ends of the floor.

Perfectly said. Those girls in the SEC on a different level. Which makes me think how well will she actually do in the pro league.

I love HVL but I do agree with you that she is avoiding the physicality of the SEC. It should be interesting in the BIG12 should be fairly good with CO, AZ, AZ State and Utah. TUC should be a middle of the road team in that conference. However, Sidona Prince their center is very injury prone usually foot problems and she is not that physical at all either. I hope she enhances her WNBA stock.

I feel for the girl. She made a mistake going to LSU. Very talented. Hope she can enjoy her last year of college ball.
She did skip with the quickness to avoid the SEC.

I believe Hailey is going to TCU to be the star and to get her stats up. She’s a great player and I appreciate that she came to LSU. She was clutch in a lot of moments. Playing in the SEC probably taught her some new things and she’s gonna go to TCU and go crazy.

I wonder how team USA 3x3 camp is going. Some players like HVL and Lucy Olsen are there. But there are a lot of pros. And players that are like 10 years older than them there. I wonder how they look against that kind of competition.

Alright! The latest episode of "HVL, the soap opera" is here. Never have so many spent so much time talking about one player who may or may not have much of an impact on women's college basketball. Personally, I hope she does well so that the soap opera can continue for at least one more season. Thanks for this, because following HVL is always entertaining.

Not playing in the ACC either, which is getting Stanford. Big 12 got a little better with addition of Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah. Hailey Van Lith is short without long arms and doesn't have elite quickness. It will be very hard for her to play in the WNBA. She should concentrate on enjoying her final year of college. But the Midwest teams get bigger crowds. Indiana, Nebraska, Iowa. But maybe they weren't interested.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the sec, I think she wants to build her draft stock and become the player she was before adding point guard to her arsenal

I have to be honest. I was arguing in favor of HVL leaving the SEC because there is too much size and athleticism in that conference.

Some players are good but just not pro players, that’s the case here. You have had other much more talented players that didn’t make a roster in the league and yes the SEC was to tough for her!!

She's obviously running from the SEC = why would she leave when South Carolina just won? It's obvious she's not up for the challenge = meanwhile, USC's going tor repeat next season + possibly go undefeated again

lol looks like the same situation as LSU no matter how you try and spin in. 2 other girls who are pretty good and more efficient than her. i dont think she runing from the sec per say. but again her best year in college was 19 ppg on 41 percent from the field and 29 percent from the 3 point line on 17 shots per game and all the other things that shes not good at. like shot selections, making others around her better, defense.......we'll see how it transpires i guess.

I think Haley made the right choice with TCU. I think it's unlikely she makes an WNBA roster, might as well go out enjoying her final year of NCAA basketball. Did not look like anything at LSU was enjoyable for her. Bad fit.

That’s 3:13 really a statement made by a moron must be an LSwho fan. She averaged 18 a game in the ACC which from top to bottom is a tougher conference than the SEC is. Notice I said top to bottom afterSC and LSU no other team was even ranked and no other team except for those 2 made it past the second round of the tourney and 3 got bounced in the first. She is not a point guard and If Mulkey was such a great coach she would have never tried to make her one. Pao should have played point and let HVL score as she always had from the 2spot. Yep she is not fast but as a 2 you do not have to be as quick as you should be at the point guard spot.
