I'm a 71 year old lady from America and I absolutely love Still Game and Isa is my favorite character. My husband passed away in 2014 and I found the show not long after. The show helped me get through some rough nights. I thank you kindly for the laughter Jane McCarry!
Glad to hear that Glasgow humour travels far and wide.. bereavement is awful but laughter can help us heal..they are only ever a thought away .. there are loads of Isas and Jack and Victors too around Glasgow ..we need fun laughter and whisky to get us through the Winters here. 😊❤
I absolutely adore her!! I watch Still Game every day and even have memorized many of the scripts and I still laugh so hard that I have to be careful when I am watching at night while my family is sleeping... I think every actor on Still Game is magnificent.
I can now see why Jane was so good at playing lsa.....even in real life she doesn't shut up...and I mean that in a really nice way. Nice interview dude.
Coming from the USA of Scottish decent I was very happy to see a show from and about Glasgow. Thank you very much for the podcast and for the interview. Great entertainment on both accounts. Cheers.
@@ScratchyBaws glad your such an an informed genius. All comedy is based an idea from wherever, it’s how it’s professionally portrayed that makes that series a gem and real genius. Probably why it’s a cult
BRILLIANT...We Love Isa(jane).....SHE'S hilarious as is the show....we watch it over and over...2 Scot expats in California...I'm thinking of opening a pub to honor that wonderful comedy.
What a gem of a podcast to come across. New subscriber! Look forward to checking out your previous & future uploads. I'm an American who only discovered the series 4-5 years ago. I may not experience the nostalgia that you guys feel surrounding it, but I truly appreciate and love the series. It's one of those shows I play in the background while I do busy boring work sorting inventory for my business I run from our home.
Love the story about the 'non-plussed parent'. Reminiscant of Jackie Stewart, who despite 27 GP wins and 3 championships - never spoke about it to his mother. When he retired, he told his mother that he was retiring from F1 - She kept a straight face and just said: 'You're well out of it,' and then she had a big laugh." It must be a Scottish thing :) Still Game joins Para Handy at the top of enduring humour!
I think Still Game is an absolutely beautiful reflection of life in Scotland. We have several box set dvds and watch it constantly. Everyone recognises every character in their own life too. We have an Isa who lives next door, the only difference is that she is a he !!. It is so intrinsic and real, I was a bit disappointed in myself the other day, we went to see the 20th anniversary tour and we went on stage to meet Jane, Mark, Sanjeev, Gavin and Paul, but I had been so anticipating meeting them and got so anxious I got some kind of tunnel vision and could hardly see them. I had so badly wanted to meet them and chat but I guess the excitement was too much, such was the reality and honesty of their performances over all those years. I’m just sad that I will never probably be able to meet them again, all very pathetic I guess for a 57 year old guy 😂
i never knew jane was from the same area as me!!! i grew up in kings park and now live in rutherglen! im guessing the street she mentioned about where the council borders moved is kings park ave!! nice to know she is from the same area as me!
Cool :) Im American so Scottland is a far off exotic place i have never been . It is also the homeland of my ancestors according to the DNA test i did :) Cheers
Not just for your Scottish listeners surely? 'Still Game' has a global audience. The quality of the acting in that series is up there with the very best.
It does now, didn't back when it first came about. So there's a lot of nostalgia that comes along with it for us. Not to mention we don't have much in the ways of TV shows like it.
I loved the comments on how Jane, Mark and others gave up courses and trades that would have lead them into 9 to 5 and boring jobs. That seems to be the way most of our best comedians went

Fantastic series!
She is the best actor on that show.
Amazing episode, so many gems - the bit about fading away was really well put
Just an absolute brilliant cim day. Chemistry between the cast members was great. Wish there were more episodes.
Too right - subscribe for when / if I record with Jack and Victor
Isa roolz....what an awesome character she is you cant have still game without her
He has Isa on his podcast with 208 subscribers, this is amazing...
Still Game is up there with Fools And Horses. Comedy genius
if you subscribe ill try get David Jason!
Wrong. Fools & Horses, characters, names and all episodes are ripped off from Steptoe % Son. Doesn't take a genius to know that.

She's great
Excellent TV show.
Loved this
I was expecting her to sound completely different to Isa but this is her real accent. Absolutely love Still Game!!
Laugh so much watching Still Game - how they all keep a straight face long enough just to get the sketches in is beyond me.

I know, right! I am Turkish, yet I enjoyed Still Game when I found it on Netflix. It's the only series that I ever finished on the 'flix.

She's s lot more attractive on here.
@Chocolate Starfish No, the actress playing isa is attractive, not the character.
Goodness! she looks like Peri Gilpin (Roz) from Frasier.
Absolutely correct! I was going to comment on this. Both gorgeous by the way. ❤
Jane or Isa would still get it 😮😮😅
Great program pity it ended.
I had no idea how much younger she is in relation to Isa
haha! very much so! hit subscribe!
Please could you get Julie Wilson Nimmo , Juliet Cadzow or Andrew Agnew on the podcast

Seems strange to hear Isa's voice coming from such a beautiful young lady
A very very attractive woman is Jane!
