I made this video 4 months ago and after uploading it the full tank shots were far too bright for my taste, and washing out some of the fish colors. Everything looked good on my end, but YT made everything look 'different.' I've come to the realization that I am not going to redo any of it and decided to re-upload the video, despite the less than perfect lighting. Hope you enjoy...
Thank you. Indeed, very heavy granite. Probably about 450-500 lbs. I have never used egg crate. Never will. Modern aquariums have tempered glass bottom panels. You can stack rocks from the bottom of the tank to your ceiling. It will support the weight.
Amazing color in your tank, just subscribed. Is the tank still stocked the same? Wondering how this group of stocking does long term. I am currently between setups on a 125g I’ve had for years and am researching stocking suggestions. Any updates on your setup would be appreciated and helpful.
I moved and this tank no longer exists. Long term I would not do as many species. 4 max. Believe it or not, the Socolofi were the most dominant. Thanks
+Dave Bandish Hey man! How ya been. Haven't been on YT in some time... Thanks for the compliments. I uploaded the video last summer and was pissed about the lighting/color. Looked good on my end, but on YT it sucked. I never filmed the tank again, so after several months I posted it again. In doing it that way it did not show up in anyone's sub boxes.
Nice! I still MF myself for selling my Saulosi colony. I saved a batch of 15+ eggs and raised them. Recently added the bunch to my Dad's brand new 125, along with some other youngsters I reared. Borleyi, Fryeri, etc. He's complaining now about the males... like, dude... they're mbuna! That's how they're supposed to act! Basically mini psychos hell bent on reproducing, territory, eating and making your life difficult.
Couple of questions for you, 1. what light are you using? I know the video has been affected by YT, but what do you find brings out the best in mbuna? and 2. how are you finding the chipokae, I'm considering it myself but know it's in a league of it's own for temperament, yet all through this video, I saw no sign of aggression from it?
Well.... sorry for this extremely late reply. I use all Current Satellite Freshwater+ LEDs on my tanks. Very versatile. Chipokae- Pretty nasty, but not as bad as the stories I've heard. I had a 3:9 ratio. Down to 1 male and 8 females.
Never kept Auratus. I had 3 male Chipokae. That turned into 1. He's the most dominant Fish in the tank. He generally doesn't mess with anyone, unless he wants to spawn. The more Females you can start with, the better. Just like any Malawi fish. They're a pretty Fish, but certainly more of a challenge. Demasoni are worse.
Thanks, my tank is about the same size, slightly bigger 520 litres. Im trying to decide whether I have enough rock work for the tank. Trying to base it on your video but its hard to put it into scale.
This was posted 5 years ago and I still enjoy watching it. Very inspiring
Always loved that Mirror's Edge soundtrack. Goes good with a nice aquarium.

Which light u used?
Beautiful. How many mbuna are in there?
Beautiful. What rocks are those?
Better late than never? Plain old granite boulders.
What kind of rock is this dada????
Beautiful tank. Looks like heavy boulders. Did you use egg crate
Thank you.

@@AJKAquaria cool. I like the passion in your answer.
What you have used for, back glass wall? Acrylic colour or wallpaper
Rustoleum Glossy Black
Beautiful tank❤️👍
nice looking tank! Fish are very colorful
Thanks a lot man!
What sand substrate are you using?
Once again YT makes my tank look twice as bright as it is and washing out the colors of my fish. Half attempted to redo this whole video...
AJK Aquaria Taking this vid down due to the poor quality YT has graciously given it...
It's still up 👌🏽
That's beautiful :)
hi sir im from indonesian and i have question why your tank not use aerator
Plenty of oxygen exchange with canister filter return & circ pump breaking the water surface
Quite a few fish holding in this vid. Like the color balance of fish too.
Beautiful

im pretty good. it looks good on my end as well. i just recently got rid of the peacocks and haps. started a saulosi species tank.

Are those all real rock how heavy are they. Or i should ask how heavy a 135g can hold?
Mark Garcia All very real. The tank can hold more rock than can actually fit. Any tank with a tempered bottom can.
