There is something I missed that some have pointed out to me (Tim Bartz). You are limited to 6000/7000 lbs of towing if you only have the Class IV Hitch without the Trailer Tow Package. So there must be something in the Trailer Tow Package that allows for the maximum towing rating of the truck. Looks like the Trailer Tow Package is more important than I thought. @@calientemac1 Would be great to understand exactly what is limiting the higher level trucks, ie platinum 3.5eb to that 6k/7k rating. I've asked for part numbers to see if the radiators, e brakes or anything else is different and so far no luck from my dealership (who as of a few weeks ago could only see '21 max tow parts in their system and showed me the screens) or the forums. They insist the truck is rated at 11,300. Of note is the Canadian platinum trucks include the tow package for free and have seen a few stickers for them - just like the American trucks have a tow tech package listed at no cost for 701a. No one has been able to point to specific differences for the 701 A that includes 17T and 53B, tow tech and the hitch vs the tow package. If you look across the forums first it was through the front stabilizer bars were different which turns out not to be the case. If I'm missing something I would sure like to know exactly what. Ford's own literature is confusing as it says in one spot that you must have a tow package and they list in parenthesis 17T, 53a and 53c. Then at the end of each of the tow rating pages it states the tow package is required as you stated to go over a certain weight. Again if someone can share specific part numbers that are different for a 701a platinum with tow tech and the hitch from the trailer tow package it would help a great deal.

Good video...thanks. I did not see any mention of the heavy duty payload package (HDPP) and as payload is often THE MOST critical limiter for half tons and towing it would be nice to remind people of that option. And I sure wish Ford allowed that option with higher trim levels than XLT. That may push me to the 3/4 ton just to have a few more options.
I have a 2020 F150, 2.5 Ecoboost, with the extra tow package. I have the V 5 receiver, which rates at Weight Distribution 13,200 LB or Weight carrying 5,000 LB. I have the 36 gallon gas tank, 3.55 rear end, electronic locking rear end, back up pro, brake system, and so on. I just purchased a travel trailer listed at 9088 pounds. We are using a Recurve R3 weight distribution hitch. When we first went to pick up the trailer, they hooked it up and my truck was squating a ton. When they tried to remove the hitch bars, I noticed that the safety pins were bent. I left the trailer at the dealer and asked that we try this again on a flat surface. I also noticed that when they dealer attempted to removed the Recurve bars, it was a struggle. So, the question. Did I just purchase too much trailer?
Yes 100%. for short distance sure 10K load works at slow speed. If you want to travel with your RV go up and down hills I would not go more then 50-60% of my max towing capacity. For your engine 2.7 Eco boost I would NOT tow more than 5000LB loaded. I have 3.7 ecoboost I would not tow more then 6000lb-7000lb
Perfect answers to my questions on all the different (and confusing) options for towing on the F150. Again, my own dealer did not seem to know any of this. So I will wait for your followup video on what the Trailer Tow Pkg includes that Tow Tech Pkg does not, and if it is worth the ~$230 extra. I will never use the silly trailer backup dial. I have been backing up trailers for 45+ yrs and just put my hands at bottom of the steering wheel..... And if Tow Tech Pkg includes more cameras than Trailer Tow Pkg, then that would be great. My current overland/offroad camper is only 1600lbs, and my boat is only 3500, so I do not need any heavy towing options. Thank you for making this great video. I hope this guy is right. I’m buying a 3.5 xl that doesn’t have any tow package but it has 3.55 gearing and I am hearing I can just add the brake controller and my truck is fine pulling 11,500?
On 2021 XLT SuperCrew, 5.5 bed, 5.0, 53B tow package, 3.15 Axle ratio. I had the dealership add the integrated trailer brake controller. What did that do to my capacities? Thanks!

You talk about tow package but you didnt cover the tires fords puts on there trucks . The claim that ford makes its new 2021 F 150 with the towing package you show with the standard tire they put on will not tow what ford says it will only a 2 ply tire will not hold the road

No it cannot. It takes different mirrors, different emblem on the grille, and a different chmsl and all the wiring and software upgrades for the camera system.

TOW package ? I been researching this for weeks can cant get any answer. ordering 2022 f150 super CAB 4X4 WITH 2.7 ECO. EQUIPMENT Group 101a,STX appearance.I am told if i order with break controller and hitch I will be limited to 6000 lbs. If i add the tow package instead it 7600 lbs. It appears that the tow package includes just the hitch and break controller on xl models. I have read all the post here and i see it mentioned a few times that it most include something else. Ford does not list anything for the xl model and no one can tell me what this would include. The new tow package is up to 1300 and ordering separate is 710 cheaper. I know the original post a year ago said it be looked into and a new video release. I cant find nay new info on this? Please help to get to the bottom of it?
My question is for a 701A platinum with the tow tech package is there anything that would limit the truck to 7k lbs of towing? It seems ford's guide states that you need to have the trailer tow package to tow over 7k but they do not list any differences between the combination of the tow tech 17T and Hitch 53B vs. the trailer tow package 53A. If there's a difference I would love to know. Some have said there may be a difference in the front sway bar, radiator and /or emergency brake size but I can't tell if my truck is missing anything that would limit it. Won't tow very often anyway, just want to know what the capability is once and for all.
That is a good question and I have researched it and have not seen any difference in the brakes or the springs to limit it to 7k lbs. I can't see any structural differences. My opinion (Tim Bartz) is that since the trailer brake controller is not included in the Class IV Hitch maybe that is why that disclaimer in there but you can order the TBC as a stand alone option and is included in the Tow Tech Package.
Hi Tim, I have Ford F-150 2021 XLT 5.0. Whenever I tow my trailer the gear is stuck between 7 and 8 shifter and the RPM goes so high. Even though I use tow/haul mode. My trailer is 4250 pounds only. Do you think transmission issues or powertrain issues? Thank you for your time
You seem extremely knowledgeable about these trucks. I'm hoping you can help me out. The dealership in Indiana I just bought my 22 f 150 has absolutely no idea about anything on the truck. I have the trailer pro back up assist. I knew previous years they had the stickers. Then I seen I seen something about the yaw sensor and the cord. My truck didn't come with either if them options. So I'm not exactly sure how I'm suppose to use the system if it didn't come with either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I saw in one video and I can’t remember which one that with the max tow package. They reached out to Ford and I believe it came with heavier springs, and possibly a heavier rear diff. Also, I believe it comes with an engine oil cooler and an auxiliary transmission cooler. It also I believe usually comes with an upgraded front stabilizer bar. also, I have noticed with the max tow package. Usually the payload capacity is increased by about 1000 pounds which is where most people are usually way over when towing not the actual tow capacity.
Hi Tim. I am getting ready to place my custom order for a Lariat Powerboost 4x4. I am in the same boat as most others and do not see any difference between the Tow Tech Package and Trailer tow package in terms of what it adds to towing capabilities. So if I get the Powerboost with 3.73 E-locker, are the towing capabilities the same for the tow tech vs trailer tow? I've been researching this like crazy but can't get a straight answer.
I'm still confused on Trailer tow pkg vs Tow Tech pkg. Bottom line, These tow packages need to be made simple. I.E. Low towing, mid towing, high towing (high including everything). I understand the price may be higher but its better that then so many confusing options.

Why my 2021 powerboost sways side to side a lot. I have 2019 before no problems with that one , I'm stressing a lot when I tow with this one , powerboost 3.5
If you get the standard mirrors can you upgrade to tow mirrors? Ive been told by a dealer you cant as the standard door cant handle the added weight of the tow mirror.

My understanding is...... that "max towing" has a new floating axle rear end (lighter than used in F250 and up) that is heavier duty with larger brakes than the other F150 axles. The bearings are beefed up and it allows up to 14,000 lb trailer to be towed. It has a huskier driveshaft. A different truck frame made of thicker metal in key stress areas is used. The 35 gallon tank is not available with some engines such as 3.5 hybrid powerboost. Is this "different" bumper just a beefier one piece design instead of multipiece that comes on most trucks? Is it shaped differently? I just ordered a new truck and had to search out all this info. I never see any talk of huskier springs which seems odd not to clarify payloads for all packages. I hope I was accurate with my comments. It is very confusing!
According to the order guide provided by Ford to dealers, there is no mention of any differences to the brakes, axles, driveshaft. The wording on the bumper says "upgraded rear bumper", no mention of how it is different.

There is most certainly a different axle on the trucks with the Max Tow option. Ford is calling it a 3/4 floating axle and it is more heavy duty than the standard axle. There is also a heavier drive shaft. But I cannot find any information on whether the Max Tow comes with beefier springs, which could be important because it would affect ride quality. Is there any way you can have someone on your lot compare the leaf spring between the "non-Max Tow" trucks and the ones with Max tow? I would love to know the answer to this and cannot find it anywhere. Also, does the heavier Max Tow bumper look cosmetically the same as the standard bumper, or does it look different?
@@Scott_6666 so I am on a forum called gen14f150 and in there people are saying it does have heavier springs (the regular f150 has a single steel spring and a composite helper) and there are videos about the bumper and the only thing I see different is where the chains hook up. The trucks I’ve seen on lots with the max towing sit up noticeably higher in the back. Let me know if y’all find anything in black and white. I’ll try to take some pics next time I’m around the lot.
One thing I've noticed that on an XL trim you are required to order the Heavy Duty Payload Package when ordering the Max Trailer Tow Package. With that in mind maybe the Springs are upgraded on the XLT trim and above but not on the XL which is why you would have to order the HD Payload Package but not on the XLT and above.

I bought a 2021 XL that came with the Trailer Tow Package for $1090. The XL does not include the LED tailgate light or the Pro Backup Assist so it seems that Ford charged me $1090 for the $200 class IV hitch and the $300 trailer brake. Am I missing something? One of Ford's documents on towing capacity says that you shouldn't tow more than 7000 lbs with only the class IV hitch and a towing package is required for higher capacity, but it doesn't explain why.
They are still charging you $1090 for that package even on the XL without the Pro Backup Assist and LED light on the tailgate. They do the same for the Lariat when the Lariat trim already comes with the Class IV Hitch as standard equipment. Also, thanks for pointing out the 7000 lbs towing with just the Class IV hitch, I did not look at the disclaimer on the towing guide. Great catch. The must be something included in the Trailer Tow Package that is not listed on the order guide that is needed to tow more than 7000 lbs.
I have my eyes on 2018 F150 XLT with a 6.5 bed. Panoramic sunroof, tow mirrors, trailer back up assist and brake controller. It has a 3.73 axle ratio. What weight can I tow?
If you look on the inside of your door, there is a sticker that tells you your max tow for your specific truck. Every truck is different so you have to look at the sticker.
Do you know why Ford changed the F150 pro trailer back up assist from using the black and white stickers to having to install the yaw sensor? The manual says they intend to update our trucks so that the stickers can be used again eventually. Do you know anything about the update timeline? I'm not happy with this change.

I have on the truck 302a, 3.73 electronic lock RR axle, trailer tow package, FORD CO-PILOT 360 ASSIST 2.0, FX4 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE, RANGE 36GAL FUEL TANK, 360-DEGREE CAMERA PACKAGE, my GVWR is 7050, my front GAWR is 3525, rear GAWR is 3800 and my payload/cargo is 1806. I am unsure what my GCWR is and if the truck o got is ok for doing conventional towing. Planning on getting a travel trailer At around 23-26 feet in length. Just need to know what I need to know as far as trailer weight and any other important things I need to know. Another question In looking at a travel trailer do I want to ask the rv dealer what the max is for that travel trailer and to be sure it is under the 10,400. Also my truck is it capable/safe towing a travel trailer. Many people say it will tow. @@rolandablang2778 Yes, ask them the weight of the trailer and take into consideration any cargo weight. Many people in the camper world not driving a Ford don't see that you can pull a travel trailer with an F-150. My dad has been pulling a 5th wheel travel trailer for 5 years with an F-150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and max trailer tow package, supercrew 6.5' bed. Trailer is 8500lb empty.
I’m just curious 🧐 why you can’t get the “trailer guidance” with tow mirrors? Is there a reason why? I don’t see the reason why especially when you can still get the 360 cameras with the the tow mirrors.

Hello Tim, I am in the process of ordering an f150 powerboost lariat and will need to tow about 8500lbs. I know the guide mentions my max capacity is 7000lbs if i don’t get the tow package. I’ve seen in previous comments you suggest just adding the trailer break controller as a stand alone or add the tow tech package. Do you feel this will push my capacity to the 11000lbs since i’ve add the brake controller which is the only difference?
No, I would suggest you add the Trailer Tow Package, I think we have looked and there are some other features Ford isn't listing that helps it get more towing which is why they recommend you add Tow Package to get full towing capability. Plus the Tow Tech Package is balanced out for 2022 F-150.

You will love it. But you have to order it. I ordered mine on Oct. 8 , got it on Feb. 22 , 2021 . San Antonio..... I haven't tried my tow technology hook up yet, but it is far easier to hook up, and does it own measurements supposedly, than the former ones.. I have the Antimatter blue RCSB 5.0 3.73 Locking rear end. (9.75 inch) 301A FX4 fully loaded. Daily driver and is a blast!!!! Katzkin black perforated leather seats, AC and Heat vented. Retrax electric bed cover. waiting 3 months so far on darn AmpResearch electric running boards

I put Goodyear Eagle Enforcer 275/55/20 Police tires on it. Darn thing rides like a car. Smooth!!!!!!!

Just a note I discovered when researching my Lariat. If you DO want the 20" wheels, the larger gas tank, and the 3.55 locking gear ratio, if you option those things separately, with the regular tow package, it actually costs about $20 more than the max tow package. (3.5 EcoBoost)
Adds up quickly, thanks for the information. But that is with the wheels, correct? Because the max trailer tow package would be $2000 and then you would need to add the 20" wheels as well.
@@longmcarthurford The max tow package adds the price of the 20" wheels automatically and includes the larger gas tank and 3.55 locking gear ratio. But if you do Standard trailer tow package, 20" wheels, larger gas tank, and 3.55 locking gear ratio, the total MSRP is about $20 more.

The 53C Max Trailer Tow Package - includes an upgraded axle which is a huge addition you are missing out on in your breakdown.

There's several options that'll work in the F150 line for it, up to the new powerboost variant for 2021 that'll tow 13k. Cheers!

You talk about tow package but you didnt cover the tires fords puts on there trucks . The claim that ford makes its new 2021 F 150 with the towing package you show with the standard tire they put on will not tow what ford says it will only a 2 ply tire will not hold the road
There are several optional tires available but tires are not included in the any of the tow packages.

No it cannot. It takes different mirrors, different emblem on the grille, and a different chmsl and all the wiring and software upgrades for the camera system.

TOW package ? I been researching this for weeks can cant get any answer. ordering 2022 f150 super CAB 4X4 WITH 2.7 ECO. EQUIPMENT Group 101a,STX appearance.I am told if i order with break controller and hitch I will be limited to 6000 lbs. If i add the tow package instead it 7600 lbs. It appears that the tow package includes just the hitch and break controller on xl models. I have read all the post here and i see it mentioned a few times that it most include something else. Ford does not list anything for the xl model and no one can tell me what this would include. The new tow package is up to 1300 and ordering separate is 710 cheaper. I know the original post a year ago said it be looked into and a new video release. I cant find nay new info on this? Please help to get to the bottom of it?
My question is for a 701A platinum with the tow tech package is there anything that would limit the truck to 7k lbs of towing? It seems ford's guide states that you need to have the trailer tow package to tow over 7k but they do not list any differences between the combination of the tow tech 17T and Hitch 53B vs. the trailer tow package 53A. If there's a difference I would love to know. Some have said there may be a difference in the front sway bar, radiator and /or emergency brake size but I can't tell if my truck is missing anything that would limit it. Won't tow very often anyway, just want to know what the capability is once and for all.
That is a good question and I have researched it and have not seen any difference in the brakes or the springs to limit it to 7k lbs. I can't see any structural differences. My opinion (Tim Bartz) is that since the trailer brake controller is not included in the Class IV Hitch maybe that is why that disclaimer in there but you can order the TBC as a stand alone option and is included in the Tow Tech Package.

Hi Tim, I have Ford F-150 2021 XLT 5.0. Whenever I tow my trailer the gear is stuck between 7 and 8 shifter and the RPM goes so high. Even though I use tow/haul mode. My trailer is 4250 pounds only. Do you think transmission issues or powertrain issues? Thank you for your time
You seem extremely knowledgeable about these trucks. I'm hoping you can help me out. The dealership in Indiana I just bought my 22 f 150 has absolutely no idea about anything on the truck. I have the trailer pro back up assist. I knew previous years they had the stickers. Then I seen I seen something about the yaw sensor and the cord. My truck didn't come with either if them options. So I'm not exactly sure how I'm suppose to use the system if it didn't come with either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I saw in one video and I can’t remember which one that with the max tow package. They reached out to Ford and I believe it came with heavier springs, and possibly a heavier rear diff. Also, I believe it comes with an engine oil cooler and an auxiliary transmission cooler. It also I believe usually comes with an upgraded front stabilizer bar. also, I have noticed with the max tow package. Usually the payload capacity is increased by about 1000 pounds which is where most people are usually way over when towing not the actual tow capacity.
Hi Tim. I am getting ready to place my custom order for a Lariat Powerboost 4x4. I am in the same boat as most others and do not see any difference between the Tow Tech Package and Trailer tow package in terms of what it adds to towing capabilities. So if I get the Powerboost with 3.73 E-locker, are the towing capabilities the same for the tow tech vs trailer tow? I've been researching this like crazy but can't get a straight answer.
I'm still confused on Trailer tow pkg vs Tow Tech pkg. Bottom line, These tow packages need to be made simple. I.E. Low towing, mid towing, high towing (high including everything). I understand the price may be higher but its better that then so many confusing options.

Hi, just wondering, I got the 2021 f150 powerboost 3.73 standard towing 4x4. I really wanted the tremor, or the fx4, but was not available unless I ordered. I ended up going with what they had. Question is, I got the electronics, cameras, and really want to upgrade towing, is there a list you have to pay to upgrade the differences between the standard tow and max tow package?

Ford doesn't list the auxilliary transmission oil cooler and engine oiler cooler as standard and it is not listed as part of the Trailer Tow Package.
The cooling is included in the Max Tow Package, if I remember correctly.
If you just bought a F150, your max tow is inside your door. Look for the sticker. It has all the specs for your specific configuration.
Why my 2021 powerboost sways side to side a lot. I have 2019 before no problems with that one , I'm stressing a lot when I tow with this one , powerboost 3.5

Non towing package 6000lbs compared to 7600lbs for towing package
My understanding is...... that "max towing" has a new floating axle rear end (lighter than used in F250 and up) that is heavier duty with larger brakes than the other F150 axles. The bearings are beefed up and it allows up to 14,000 lb trailer to be towed. It has a huskier driveshaft. A different truck frame made of thicker metal in key stress areas is used. The 35 gallon tank is not available with some engines such as 3.5 hybrid powerboost. Is this "different" bumper just a beefier one piece design instead of multipiece that comes on most trucks? Is it shaped differently? I just ordered a new truck and had to search out all this info. I never see any talk of huskier springs which seems odd not to clarify payloads for all packages. I hope I was accurate with my comments. It is very confusing!
According to the order guide provided by Ford to dealers, there is no mention of any differences to the brakes, axles, driveshaft. The wording on the bumper says "upgraded rear bumper", no mention of how it is different.
@@longmcarthurford The questions that the gentleman above asked are the exact ones for which I am trying to find answers. There is most certainly a different axle on the trucks with the Max Tow option. Ford is calling it a 3/4 floating axle and it is more heavy duty than the standard axle. There is also a heavier drive shaft. But I cannot find any information on whether the Max Tow comes with beefier springs, which could be important because it would affect ride quality. Is there any way you can have someone on your lot compare the leaf spring between the "non-Max Tow" trucks and the ones with Max tow? I would love to know the answer to this and cannot find it anywhere. Also, does the heavier Max Tow bumper look cosmetically the same as the standard bumper, or does it look different?
@@Scott_6666 so I am on a forum called gen14f150 and in there people are saying it does have heavier springs (the regular f150 has a single steel spring and a composite helper) and there are videos about the bumper and the only thing I see different is where the chains hook up. The trucks I’ve seen on lots with the max towing sit up noticeably higher in the back. Let me know if y’all find anything in black and white. I’ll try to take some pics next time I’m around the lot.
One thing I've noticed that on an XL trim you are required to order the Heavy Duty Payload Package when ordering the Max Trailer Tow Package. With that in mind maybe the Springs are upgraded on the XLT trim and above but not on the XL which is why you would have to order the HD Payload Package but not on the XLT and above.

Just took delivery a week ago of my brand new 2021/2022 F-150 Lariat PowerBoost Hybrid with Max Tow with 360, now I'm trying to figure out how to get TPMS for my 4 trailer tires???? Please send me the part numbers. Thanks
Also I think the Max Tow Package also includes oversized rear brakes to help slow heavy trailers. They look larger on mine at least.
I bought a 2021 XL that came with the Trailer Tow Package for $1090. The XL does not include the LED tailgate light or the Pro Backup Assist so it seems that Ford charged me $1090 for the $200 class IV hitch and the $300 trailer brake. Am I missing something? One of Ford's documents on towing capacity says that you shouldn't tow more than 7000 lbs with only the class IV hitch and a towing package is required for higher capacity, but it doesn't explain why.
They are still charging you $1090 for that package even on the XL without the Pro Backup Assist and LED light on the tailgate. They do the same for the Lariat when the Lariat trim already comes with the Class IV Hitch as standard equipment. Also, thanks for pointing out the 7000 lbs towing with just the Class IV hitch, I did not look at the disclaimer on the towing guide. Great catch. The must be something included in the Trailer Tow Package that is not listed on the order guide that is needed to tow more than 7000 lbs.

If you look on the inside of your door, there is a sticker that tells you your max tow for your specific truck. Every truck is different so you have to look at the sticker.

Do you know why Ford changed the F150 pro trailer back up assist from using the black and white stickers to having to install the yaw sensor? The manual says they intend to update our trucks so that the stickers can be used again eventually. Do you know anything about the update timeline? I'm not happy with this change.

Ford has a trailer tow mirror option from factory, you may see if your local dealer can switch out those mirrors for yours.

Not sure it's an updated connector instead of a 4-pin connector but it includes an adaptor to 4-pin.

I have on the truck 302a, 3.73 electronic lock RR axle, trailer tow package, FORD CO-PILOT 360 ASSIST 2.0, FX4 OFF-ROAD PACKAGE, RANGE 36GAL FUEL TANK, 360-DEGREE CAMERA PACKAGE, my GVWR is 7050, my front GAWR is 3525, rear GAWR is 3800 and my payload/cargo is 1806. I am unsure what my GCWR is and if the truck o got is ok for doing conventional towing. Planning on getting a travel trailer

The way it sits with equipment you have and the v8 with 3.73 you mac towing should be 10,300-10,500.

Another question In looking at a travel trailer do I want to ask the rv dealer what the max is for that travel trailer and to be sure it is under the 10,400. Also my truck is it capable/safe towing a travel trailer. Many people say it will tow. @@rolandablang2778 Yes, ask them the weight of the trailer and take into consideration any cargo weight. Many people in the camper world not driving a Ford don't see that you can pull a travel trailer with an F-150. My dad has been pulling a 5th wheel travel trailer for 5 years with an F-150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost and max trailer tow package, supercrew 6.5' bed. Trailer is 8500lb empty.
I’m just curious 🧐 why you can’t get the “trailer guidance” with tow mirrors? Is there a reason why? I don’t see the reason why especially when you can still get the 360 cameras with the the tow mirrors.
Should come with the reverse guidance as long as you get the 360 camera package with your tow package or max tow package.

That made no sense because what you were saying was the only way to get trailer guidance was with tow tech package only and you couldn’t add it to the tow package or max tow….so if I get max tow and 360 cameras then I will have every available tow feature?

Hello Tim, I am in the process of ordering an f150 powerboost lariat and will need to tow about 8500lbs. I know the guide mentions my max capacity is 7000lbs if i don’t get the tow package. I’ve seen in previous comments you suggest just adding the trailer break controller as a stand alone or add the tow tech package. Do you feel this will push my capacity to the 11000lbs since i’ve add the brake controller which is the only difference?
No, I would suggest you add the Trailer Tow Package, I think we have looked and there are some other features Ford isn't listing that helps it get more towing which is why they recommend you add Tow Package to get full towing capability. Plus the Tow Tech Package is balanced out for 2022 F-150.

You will love it. But you have to order it. I ordered mine on Oct. 8 , got it on Feb. 22 , 2021 . San Antonio..... I haven't tried my tow technology hook up yet, but it is far easier to hook up, and does it own measurements supposedly, than the former ones.. I have the Antimatter blue RCSB 5.0 3.73 Locking rear end. (9.75 inch) 301A FX4 fully loaded. Daily driver and is a blast!!!! Katzkin black perforated leather seats, AC and Heat vented. Retrax electric bed cover. waiting 3 months so far on darn AmpResearch electric running boards

I put Goodyear Eagle Enforcer 275/55/20 Police tires on it. Darn thing rides like a car.

Just a note I discovered when researching my Lariat. If you DO want the 20" wheels, the larger gas tank, and the 3.55 locking gear ratio, if you option those things separately, with the regular tow package, it actually costs about $20 more than the max tow package. (3.5 EcoBoost)

@@longmcarthurford The max tow package adds the price of the 20" wheels automatically and includes the larger gas tank and 3.55 locking gear ratio. But if you do Standard trailer tow package, 20" wheels, larger gas tank, and 3.55 locking gear ratio, the total MSRP is about $20 more.
