Risk/Reward wasn't there 1.5 bil risk for 100 mill, unless you're going for the adrenaline rush of the whole scenario and screwing over a scammer. You sound like you're having a good time though so keep rockin on!

Nice how to - some suggestions though: 1. Have the destination preset. 2. Be in fleet with the webber. 3. Hold cloak until the webber is in web range - either webber warps from a tactical / gate ping / offgrid etc to the freighter at zero and when the webber lands you warp the freighter; lock it with the webber and instawarp. Or you if dual boxing you manually fly the webber around by watching it on the freighter's screen. ie DO NOT decloak the freighter unless it is in web range. Also you jumped when there was a neut Badger watching you on the gate also bad idea.

I think that the friend should have had ECM. When I escort someone, I typically use a griffin or blackbird to do it. Had the hurricane been jammed, you would have gotten away much sooner. In fact I'd a bit surprised the hurricane didn't just shoot the Crucifier. But otherwise, you seem to know what you're doing.
The biggest danger here wasn't he hurricane destroying you, there was absolutely no chance in that. What did make me really nervous was that you weren't checking D-SCAN! Not that it would have mattered, but the real danger is him calling in his friends to apply extra tackle and DPS. That Hurricane was really stupid to die like that.
That's dangerous, you know, because if there is a serrious pirates, you will have at least 2 stasis webs and your speed will be lower than 10 m/s, so you will die fast.
That was pretty entertaining but luck had more than a little something to do with that contract being completed.
Still, what's funnier than scamming the scammers?
The proper way to do that is to have your alt in a frig with 3 webbers. The second you click Dock, have your alt hit you with all 3 webbers so you get to speed faster and "insta" out of there. You'd have been warping in less than 2 seconds if you had done it the correct way.

I really do not get the point of this. You use a freighter which costs a crapload of ISK in order to earn 100 Mill ISK, only? If it works for you, fine, but seriously, 100 Mill are peanuts and really not worth risking to lose a freighter over it. Whatever makes you happy, man. Whatever makes you happy...

That was exciting to see. For the noobs thought it would have been good to hear a description of what happened. I didn't catch how siigari managed to get away. Just all of a sudden he seemed to be able to warp. Also it wasn't clear what is friend was doing to help.

you should use a falcon or rook to be your scout, if you do get caught they can just jam them out while you warp away.
Honestly though, if a cane is in "about as much armor % as you are", that means it's probably going to go down first - the Obelisk has the highest amount of hull HP of all freighters. At 3500 hull hp vs 120000, it's a difference no damage control can neutralize.
Like everyone else in the chat I don't think this is a good idea. However I love the honestly of this! People do stuff like this in eve all the time but no one records it. Please do more content like this please :D
Ok but you didn't show how you got out of that system alive with your ship. I also thought that you can't undock a ship when you have so much armor damage.
Getting out is actually easier. Because that particular station is not a suicide undock, all you have to do is undock and then warp to the gate and you're out.

No offence, but I really don't see the skill you did there? Your friend probably got not a lot of knowledge at all and is somehow clueless about the game at all. You just clicked "allign to" and prayed to successfully warp away from the death. There is no skill at all, you just got lucky whatsoever, no offence bud just my .02 here.
bahh skill is only used in twitch based games not point and click ones like EVE... those are strategy. and the guy just got lucky.
the skill lies in preparation. only problem this time he didn't properly scan the system before he actually jumped, apart from that his information is sound. nowadays though web alts are commonplace and not really a secret

Freighters have a bazillion structure hp. The cane's shields and armor going down at the same speed as a freighter's = dead cane, easy.

You knew nothing about what was going on,
1. the badger was an obvious scout + there could be cloaked or off grid scanners on the system before lowsec.
2. the hurricane was not afk on POS, he was obviously ready for you to jump in, too bad he didnt have a few friends, so you were lucky.
3. you were nowhere close to die as you structure have 150k hp (like 75k with 50% resist or 37k with 75% resist)
4. why isnt you friend using a combat ship or sniper to blow that hurricane up?

What? Hurricane made agro on neutral pilot. He got gate guns on him. That is what killed him. You cant fight on the gate solo for so long. Gate guns will pop you.

You survived, first rule of Eve... if you didn't blow all your implants a good ship and a jump clone, or get lost in a wormhole you are probably doing it right! Good idea paying pals to watch you, I would also recommend using pre-aligned positions that are not planetary objects... the jump gate in this case will never help you, so why are you using it? Also you have no gear fitted. Simple stealth, MWD, and anti-jamming is essential in evading a fight. Using your free stealth to stealth up = more of a win. I have done some of these before, and occasionally you can make good money off a legit contract, insured over 1B.
Also watch the name of the contract holder... look up their corp... make a list. If any of those names appear take off immediately.

Trading and moving freight are very lucrative. I had a corp mate who moved ships and modules from hi-sec to lowsec markets using a mammoth. He made about 1.4 bil per hour of play time, and he only played about 3 hrs a week. If you have a knack for cornering lowsec markets, trading can make you billions with a little bit of starting capital.
No, you can't fit anything on a freighter because it doesn't have slots.

I believe you can't warp anywhere without any cap. I'm guessing that was the idea, but a freighter has a lot of cap to neut through.... Does a neut have a longer range than a web?
