    I have a 06 5.9 with the G56. Had a dual disk Valair put in 3 weeks ago. It’s the quiet dual disk. I love it. The truck had a dual disk button south bend was a good clutch but I like the Valair a lot better.

    Sounds awesome driver! I got the last '18 long bed G56 I could find brand new!! Couldn't be happier with it except it's the coil spring rear end..............but nothin a set of bags won't fix. The factory clutch is hating life after a few hundred cord of firewood hauled (trees yarded out of brush holes) hauling hay, and dragging my camp trailer into places it shouldn't go. It's a couple weeks away from graduating the warranty academy and to my surprise, my wife has told everyone we know when warranty expires so will the "asthma recirculation".........can't argue with that right?! I'd love to have 500-600 hp to the ground but I've gotta keep the ebrake for towing which there are options for, but I don't think my pocket book can play that kinda ball lmao. It'll also end up my daily driver so I can't get to gooned up and have it broke down waiting on spare cash to fix 'idiot time'. Manuals till death I say!

    • @Haydini69
      @Haydini69  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Till the day I die! Haha can’t argue with that at all! At the time of the video I was on a stock turbo but have sense gone with a taterbuilt vgt 63.5/68 and it’s been awesome! It’s probably a modest 550 turned up but plenty of fun bangin gears and pulls mountains loaded with ease. The turbo was $2350. With the asthma recirculation healed you’ll definitely need a new clutch. I’m running the Valair dual disc organic quiet and it’s been phenomenal. It’s about $1450 I believe but rated to 550 but I know guys who run it at 800 and it still holds fine. After I tuned the truck it’d slip 6th on the highway on a 30hp tune. The engagement of the Valair feels close to stock but a touch stiffer which I personally like more. I’ve pulled trailers with it up through the Canadian Rockies coming down from Alaska to Tennessee and up and down the east coast and I don’t have a single complaint so far. I’ve put about 25k miles on the clutch and couldn’t be happier and haven’t had a single issue with the truck (minus blowing off the coolant return line once in Virginia but that was a simple fix)

      @@Haydini69 good to know of the Valair clutch, I've been leaning that direction when time comes. My wife drives ours more than I do and wouldn't be too popular for putting a clutch in that's much more than factory pedal resistance or the ceramic ON/OFF bite when she's getting groceries 🤣. Gotta be calculated for damn sure lmao, or starts eating parts, or the ever loving straight pipe drone haha

    Hey man, how does your truck seem to shift so smooth? I have a hard time with it. When i let the clutch out after shifting. I almost have to have a little bit go throttle applied or it will jolt. Ive borrowed a dually cummins with the stick and it shifted great, but it was tuned. so im not sure if that had something to do with it.

    • @Haydini69
      @Haydini69  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What kind of clutch do you have? Mine is a dual organic so it is able to slip a little bit to help keep it smoother but I’ve also learned how much throttle I need when I shift so it’s second nature at this point. If you have a ceramic it won’t slip so it’s going to be a lot more jerky

    • @APECK636
      @APECK636 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Haydini69 I bought the truck used with 68k miles. I assume it is stock with the DMF. Even if I let off the gas too quick before pushing in the clutch it makes a clunking sound and jolts. Its like i have to push in the clutch with some throttle still applied to avoid that. I read that could be the feeling from the DMF. Idk I just dont think it drives right.
