When I played this for my Son,who was 8 years old at the time,His Eyes were as big & full of Pure Wonder & Excitement -He almost burst with raw,unfiltered,uncinical Enthusiastic Wonder about what he Felt when he heard "The Storm". (It Had The Same Profound Effect on Me at that age that I now play several Instruments). He was Awe-inspired by this Piece from Vivaldi that he now wants to "Hear Everything". To say his Spirit was lifted by this music is an Understatement! If someone Cracks-On Classical Music or wants nothing do with it.... Or a Person needs their Hearts to Swell & get them feeling something but it can't be described? Play them this Music in Particular. It's Motivating & it Forces the listener to appreciate Life & Living because Life is an Adventure that we all must Live through.
What I find so incredible about this piece, I can actually see the music. It's like a visual maelstrom of an actual storm with crashing waves, lightening, rain, and wind building and ebbing. When you close your eyes, you can actually feel it and see it in your mind. The sensation is like you are a leaf in the wind, or perhaps a boat being tossed about in the ocean on a stormy night. I get so swept up in the music, it is just breath taking. I wish I could explain the sensation better. You are literally spirited away. This happens with music sometimes. For some reason, this piece just does it so well.

Wasn't one of Vivaldi's nicknames "the red priest"? It amazes me how long ago that he composed this piece. I can imagine the storm when I close my eyes. "Fingal's cave" by Felix Mendelson is another piece which, in my opinion, is best listened to with eyes closed.
