This podcast impacted me deeply. I have been an eternal optimist and buffered myself up with my love of spirituality and various contemporary spiritual teachings. However as I continue look out into the world lately I often hit waves of despair. Margaret’s pragmatic, honest and caring message resonated with me. I greatly appreciate her wisdom. It brings it all together. I remember in my youth hearing Joan Baez say in an interview that the difference between her and Bob Dylan was that he believed it didn’t matter what he did it -it wouldn’t change anything. And for her, she believed she/he could change the world . To me, Margaret is saying something in the middle. Discern your purpose and what your skills and sphere of influence is. And open yourself to Grace and do what you can locally. Thank you. It’s a message though initially frightful, gave me a sense of direction in manoeuvring these troubling times.
The Buddhist teachings on moving past Hope and Fear are some of the most challenging. There’s always a lot of push back. She did a great job at presenting them. Very brave.
Of all the lyrics I've ever trusted out of Yonkers, I never thought I'd hear the name Trungpa. Wheatley... She does look like She'd die trying to get a centerpiece for Her dino necklace lololol. ❤
