Your 63 has so much soul and personality. I can watch this video over and over. It brings back memories of a much simpler time in my life (early 70’s). You have a great looking car. Thanks for sharing it.
Man you are breaking my heart hearing that thing run. I bought a 89 Winnebago with a 454 in it and am debating whether to take that motor out and rebuild it for a Rat Rod truck and you're sure making it easier for me to take it out and ruin a good motor home...lol.
I see a lot of hateful comments. I built all my Chevy's to my liking not other's. This is what he likes then so be it. I admire the 63 2Dr HT just as I admire my 1975 Pontiac Catalina. The build is to each our own no matter what style we take it ratrod custom or lowrider. Keep doing what your doing sounds nasty blow the door's off them rice burners. Middle finger to the foul comments.
Cool car, I like it. When I got my first car (67 Chevelle) one of the first mods after spray painting some stuff under the hood was a PBR can on the coil, lol, brought back some memories man, thumbs up.
Damn.... it's loud, it's in-your-face, it's low....... I FRIKKIN LOVE IT!! After seeing this beast and a couple other videos of yours, I subbed to your channel. A big hello from Australia and love your machines mate. 😎👍👍
I've seen Coupezilla Earlier today. I didn't even know you was there until I've seen your Dodge and trailer and OMG when you fired up Coupezilla, it was like heaven lol. Glad to finally see it in person and that '68 GTO you have. Coupezilla stole the show once it fired up. One of the best cars there
Old Hot Rod's do resurrect in "Hot Rod Heaven"! No one does it like Hot Rod Ronnie! Thanks for a great video to watch on Fathers Day, what a treat. I think Bucky wants to go for a ride and let the wind blow his ears back. Have a blessed day my friend!
goo going man you brought it back from the dead . shounds good that's a one bad as 454 engine . love all the work you put in to it . keep up the good work .
It seems pretty obvious that it needs a longer duration cam and a good set of headers. BBCs are air deprived, especially when running stock heads. It sounds like it may be struggling for "breath." It's an easy fix and the gains are big. What carbs are you running? It's fantastic seeing another 60's car saved from the scrapper. I am sure she will only get better over time!
Oh your welcome. Have a soft spot for classic and old school muscle cars in general. Especially for those that get saved and brought back to life. What gear head doesn't love raw horsepower!
You are my kinda guys .... I'm 51 yrs young and me and my buddy cedar coated a 63 falcon we scratched down to paint .... Was lite blue original and one darker blue repaint ... The red primer in between looked like cool smoke and flame so we cleared it ... GREAT inspiration to se hotrod Rick with his AMC eagle that is super cool ..
I dig it paint it or don't, I'd finish the exhaust (so I could hear the cop siren) and enjoy it as is. fake patina sucks, but cars like this are like the hot 54 year old woman who lets her grey hair show cuz she knows she's hot
Josh Rooster Cogburn Wood anytime you increase your lift and duration on a cam you're going to increase the power... you may lose some low-rpm torque but you'll gain some high-end power
The cam is probably a little too big for this 454 Big Block Chevy. But this seems to be a cruising car for sound and decent power. He already had an eagle that ran high nines in the quarter. Too much cam, heads, intake, carburetor, headers and more, you gain just a little horsepower but lose loads of torque for the street and strip. Torque is what wins races, leaves black marks and pins you in the back of the seat. The comp cams thumper cam or the mother thumper cam would have made more power and torque but for sound the big mother thumper cam wins but kills torque. Something I've learned over the years it's better to be conservative on camshaft and intake port head selection or you will kill loads of torque. It's hard for most people to believe at car shows and cruise inns but the big factory oval iron Port heads beat out the square Port iron or aluminum factory heads. But if you really want to go radical race idle get the big muther thumper cam cut on a 94 lobe separation. The tighter the lobe separation the more radical the idol is. I installed a 98 load separation big mother thumper cam in a 350 Chevy small block it was more radical than 700 cubic inch engines.
For naturally aspirated engines only the comp thumper line series cams make great power. The tighter the lobe separation makes more horsepower and torque but they're not for nitrous or power adders. Comp Cams have also nitrous, blower and turbo series camshafts. But when you're speaking nitrous you make bigger gains with 8.25 to 1 lower compression and adding more nitrous than you do with 15. to 1 compression and with the same amount of nitrous. Stock engines with good forged internals and just a just a little work done make a bigger gain than built high compression engines on nitrous. There are engines up to 16:1 compression but adding nitrous on them the motor is already so efficient there's not much of a gain left on nitrous. Over about 10.5 to 1 compression it's fuel octane booster or race gas.
👂"WHAT I CAN'T HEAR YOU" !!!! SOUNDS WAY BETTER than that hiphop crap on the radio!where's the BURN OUT!!!!! THAT IS BAD ASS '63💪 HOT WHEELS TREASURE HUNT!
Lobmin, it is straight off the stock manifolds for right now. I have two Delta 40 Flowmasters to put on it. They will give it just the right mellow sound. Thank you Mate. "Hotrod" Ronnie Miller and #CoupeZilla
Sounds like way too much timing has been pulled out.. needs to be Advanced more... that cam should be hitting a little bit sounds stock.. I will bet most likely he has the idle circuit on those carbs to lean that'll cause a cam to not hit it all..
Well done Ronnie! Want some $$$ to dump in that beast? I'll gladly pay ya $$$ if you let me metal detect on your property. I cover all my holes and take all recovered trash with me. Think about it buddy.
nice ride but the cheap parts store electric fan killed it for me along with that obnoxious exhaust paint it don't clear it like all other pos's not flat black either
Sorry to bust yer bubble Jake Baldwin, but that is a very efficient Ford Torus electric fan that is one of the best fans you can put on a car. Oh, and I haven't even got to the exhaust yet. I have two nice DELTA 40's going on Rusty. Thanks for the comment.
So you're saying him being wise with his budget turned you off? What kind of funds do you have to make you say that? You loaded? Must be nice to get every overpriced summit or jegs part you want.
I had a 64 409 car. dark blue silver interior Factory 4 speed with an on-dash tach. The car wasn't fast, but once it was rolling it had a killer come on.Iron American Dream on TH-cam Share it. Take a ride across the promised land. Iron American Dream on TH-cam Share
