- This is a super straightforward and simple process that makes a huge difference in sound (not so sure about performance). Decat pipe, also called the down pipe as well as many other things, I'm sure. I couldn't find a proper vid of this so I made one. I did not have to or need to re-tune the bike after this mod. The link to the pipe is below - you can get it in many online stores but this one seems to have the best price, even with international shipping. This was such a fun little mod. Makes me want to do more mods. As always, thank you for watching, commenting, subscribing and the rest of it. If you read this far let me hear you say #decat

Finally! The only upgrade that had to be done! 😍
Ha! Pretty much :)
It’s always so satisfying pulling out the tools and wrenching on your bike. Quality time spent with a good friend 😎 Can’t wait to hear this beast opened up on the road.
Yes yes yes, so nice when you are a in a calm mood and can just tinker about.
Good job man. The monster sounds much better.
Soo much better
The sound of my people!!! Sounds great.
Yes sir. Getting there.
Thank you, I just finished the decat pipe installation for my Monster 937 today thanks to your video :D
You are very very welcome
That is so loud! LOL! I can't wait to hear with an actual exhaust. Thanks for sharing this bro!
Naaaaah, its not too too loud - just right :)
Love it, not insanely loud but just enough :))
Its actually pretty loud. Video doesnt do it justice. But its a weird loud. Exhaust def needed
Thanks for the video, will be doing mine next week. Can't wait.
Oh, it’s such a game changer
THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE - MIVV XM5 Exhaust install coming soon :)
Oh that sound difference.. music to the ears!
Will be even sweeter with a proper pipe :)
Thank you man. Mission accomplished with your help. Regards from Mexico.
Oooh I love to hear it - glad I can help!
Music to my ears! 🤩
It had to be done.
Now it’s starting to sound like a real monster
Slowly but surely.
Nicely done 👌
Thank you very much!
I really like the how to vids.
Me too. I will be making a few more soon :)
Good job you made it look easy , 👍
Thank you very much :)
Sweet, sweet, sweet! Been waiting for this. Wahoo!
Took me long enough.
@@ducatinyc great add, great sound. Mentioning your channel in a vid Tuesday about the new Triumph Street Triple Moto 2. Hope that's okay. Wahoo!
@@forgottenmotorcycles THANK YOU!
@@ducatinyc love your channel. Your the king of the big city lane splitters. Wahoo!
Always nice when aftermarket stuff lines up straight out of the box! And that huge metal udder you removed must weigh a good 10 lbs.
About 7lb, yea - and agreed - another great thing about working on new bikes.
It’s almost 12lbs!
Nice video, thanks 👍
You are very welcome!
Much better!! 👌🏻😍
So so so much better.
heck yeah!!!!!!!!!!....nice!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats
Thank you. It was about time.
Any noticeable slop in throttle response (since EFI map wasn’t changed to accommodate more flow)? And does the bike run any cooler with the cat removed? Sounds nice. Thanks for sharing!
It does seem to run a touch cooler - did not notice any slop at all
Thank you so much for posting this. Exactly what I was looking for. Want to do my anniversary model just like you did. Curious. What spools did you use on your bike.
Evotech all around
Hey! I recently bought the monster SP and was thinking of using this same MIVV decat with the termi exhaust that comes with the bike. Why is it that this mod doesn't need an ECU flash? Thanks! Great video
I think its because he retained the stock mufflers which provide enough back pressure9or restriction to flow) to keep the Air charge/exhaust through the engine at a correct flow rate. Too fast and the a/f will go through into the exhaust creating a lean condition in the cylinder(it will flow into the exhaust and create that backfire in the exhaust on certain load conditions or decel).
Thats just what I read in all the forums and online - no need for a tune. I will tune it later on, since my buddy got a tuner anyway. I'm not too familiar with the Mivv working with the SP Termis.
The oxygen sensor is located on the front pipe (coming from the actual engine). Therefore you can remove the cat and still don’t need mapping of the ecu.
In the exhaust you should torqued the nuts to ducati’s spec because the metal dilates and you risk braking a screw. Try the forums because there’s a lot of threats about this. This sound is much better, although I still love the oem. In Europe we have to be very careful with this kind of modification because of vehicle periodic inspections.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into torque. Same issue here but they dont enforce the laws too hard.
The best 🦾🦾
As good as it gets!
good evening friend. nice video. the change you make in the engine, do you make any other change in any parameter? does it create any problem in the behavior of the engine
Not at all, works great without any ecu changes
@@ducatinyc thanks friend, you helped me a lot, I'll try it on my machine too
Hi, I you replaced the mid pipe on your Ducati 937 with a MIVV part. I'm curious, does this require any new tuning for the bike, or can you simply swap out the old component with the new one without additional adjustments? Thanks for your insights!
Max
No tune needed, just slap it on and go. I thought I mentioned that in both the video and the description.
Hey DUC NYC
When bikes go for their annual inspections are emissions measured?
Thanks
Not in NYC
Question, do you think that non-motorcyclists will find it annoyingly loud? A lot of modern Ducati's the sound baffling is mostly in the cat. Very little in the mufflers. I so wanted to do this to my Ducati 1200 Enduro, but on that model the muffler barely does anything except look like a muffler. I only wanted it gone because of the heat it generates, and the additional weight. I think this is a great modification to do. Looking at making a 950SP as my next Ducati and super interested in this mod. Thanks, for posting this easy-to-follow video. Ride safe, and very likely be heard now.... LOL
Good question - I don't think its SO SO loud its obnoxious - but time will tell I guess. Lets see how much louder it gets w a proper pipe too.
参考になりました、ありがとう!
You are very welcome! Thank you for watching!
I cannot get the hex screw out at 6:18 of your video. I got the other side out. But my brake lever is so in the way i can’t get the hex key in to unscrew it and i don’t want to strip it.
Make sure its a ball head hex, so you can put it in at an angle
Must say your dedicated to Ducati is unmatched👌👌 BTW what special do you feel while riding a Ducati and why not inline 4?
ha! you have no idea - you should hear my friends making fun of me. I love a L Twin feel, pull and sound. Plus Ducati is the Ferrari of motorcycles = THE BEST :)
@@ducatinyc like why your friends make fun of you😴???

@@ducatinyc damn buddy, you dont have any handles?? Like insta or somethin?? Tbh a 36k subbed person replying actively is a great thin👌👌👌👌👌🙏💪
@@atharvah2705 I love interacting with people who comment, my favorite thing, I have all the handles
Hi I have ducati monster sp with termi slipons I was interested to do the same upgrade but I was not sure if im gonna need to flush ecu or anything like that .
I was just wondering because to switch the pipe doesn’t look hard I think I can do that but If I would need anything to deal with computer of the bike I probably need a professional to deal with it
Well, you can do the physical work yourself and only get a pro to do the ECU flash. I'm running it with no tune at the moment but probably not for long
I'm planning to do the same thing on mine. did you get to install a tune since your install?
I was told that there was really no need, no issues at all so far. I also just added the exhaust, the video coming soon
@@ducatinyc what exhaust did you go with?
@@marvs4627 Mivv XM5. I love the MivV on my other Monster so keeping it in Mivv fam
6:06 to get to that screw easily, loosen the rear brake screw. I found out the g
hard way ...
Makes sense. All worked out in the end :)
Have you been able to get any map? Like a custom one?
No maps yet but I have not really looked.
Does the Duc have an AIS system? That'd be the next thing I'd go after.
Probably, but the popping will go away after I put on a proper pipe
@Ducati NYC Vlog not necessarily, the AIS will still dump air into the exhaust to increase air and thus popping. On some bikes, you can tune out AIS too or just pull the fuse for it.
Did you need to tune it or flash the ecu?
On really should - but I have not, yet.
✌🏼Do I need to adjust ecu? To install this
Nope, slap it on and off you go :)
I also removed the Catalyst converter, did you remap your computer?
I have not but I really should
@@ducatinyc you think is bad for the engine of you leave it like this?
@@GoranManevski yea, it seems a tune is needed but i'm running it without one for now.
How's this mod holding up? Bike still running good?
Bike is running perfect
@@ducatinycNice 😎
Does the Monster have an Exhaust Flap?
Yep, there is a valve
Or more commonly known as cooper grease!
Pretty much.
Here we go....
Yes sir.
Music ❤
beautiful beautiful music
so this is V-engine? 90degrees?
L twin, 11 degrees - testastratta

DECAT!
Bisogna necessariamente rimappare?
Its probably a good idea but I have not ReMapped anything yet
@@ducatinyc però comunque non è necessario? La moto gira bene? Senza vuoti?
