I realised why he’s the “True Demon.” He’s a reverse Nahobino, who are “True Gods.” They’re demons who attained human knowledge, but the Demi-Fiend is a human that attained demonic power.
Humans contain the Gods' knowledge. Certain humans for certain Gods. Like the protagonist has Susano-o's knowledge and Shohei contains Nuwa's knowledge etc. Demi-Fiend became a True Demon by denouncing his humanity and handing himself over completely to the Magatama's powers and Lucifer's will. It's quite different than being a reverse Nahobino. However, with the Law and Chaos endings of SMT5, it could be viewed that the protagonist Nahobino has become 'God' (New YHWH) and the Demi-Fiend has become the new Lucifer.

Which also makes me wonder why the Demi-Fiend isn't using Masakdos in this battle against Nahobino, the Masakado Nulls All except Almighty, but here he only resists everything instead and doesn't even use more than 6 moves and mid-game demons, despite that defeating him grants you Null All except Almighty.

This has nothing to do with power as a lot of people in history has given their all to the will of people considered weaker and even less wealthier than themselves. As for why he didn't use Masakados is because the fight was set out as a test for the Nahobino. He purposely weakened himself as his full power would of outright stopped the Nahobino and prevented him from his task, which Lucifer wanted him to complete. If the Nahobino couldn't compete with the Demi-Fiend at that weakened level, then he was considered not worthy of the Throne and that's when Gaea Rage comes into play to just outright kill him.
So I never played Nocturne and my first thought seeing him was "Ay yo who this scrub be?" I have made a severe and continuous error in judgement and I would like to apologize.
Worst part is that his boss music is literally just his random encounter theme, meaning that at their peak SMTV protagonist is still just a scrub to him at best
Two things you've gotta be wary of in SMT are; When the cripple who invents Demon summoning Program stands up, and some guy wearing short-pants and glowing tattoos along with his Pixie knocking on your door.

Given SMTV Demi Fiend (And most of his outside of home game appearances) is clearly TDE, I would like to believe that his alignment supercharged Gaea's Rage to the bullshit it is now. Freikugel is still strong mind you, but in SMTV he's not charging it, using it with pierce and so on

Fun fact: As of right now, the only person to beat him in normal did so by using his essence they obtained from cheating their way through in Safety Mode.
Damn we got normal battle themed again because he sees us as such a tiny threat, but to be honest this sounds a hard boss theme, or a final boss theme so at least he showed a lot more respect this time, it’s probably because we are fused with a much much stronger demon.

Given that he appeared in Imagine (called Re-Imagine now) its safe to say that he can travel throughout the timeline of the Megatenverse too. I guess he's kinda similar to Stephen (although with many obvious differences though)
Hearing the “my fate is an awful curse. I am but a human being” lines always makes me think it’s human Naoki screaming underneath his new form and how imprisoned he must feel and it hurts
I always just assumed that it was the inner thoughts of Naoki at the start of the plot. He's trapped in some godforsaken hellhole where demons are everywhere, and he has no choice but to carry on, watching as his friends go mad, and his teacher is well over her head. It's important to remember that this theme came in the original Shin Megami Tensei III, where the objectively best ending was the Freedom Ending (The TDE didn't exist). The song itself could have been him asking Yuko to make a new world ("Please, make this a real world!"), especially since the game has us help her no matter what, and she tells us at the beginning to find her. After awhile though, I feel as though this point is somewhat lost, and it just becomes a cool soundtrack, embodying how far he's come, and the power that he has obtained. The theme that symbolized how lost and afraid he was, has become a symbol of him being an absolute Chad.
It has nothing to do about Naoki suffering. The lyrics in all of Nocturne's battle tracks are spoken in the perspective of either an angelic being or a devout follower. Mixed with the chaos of the instruments and vocal effects, it's meant to paint an image of an authority's (namely God's) tyranny. The "one more God rejected" line, I believe, is supposed to portray that the Judeo-Christian God is supplanting authority from the other gods of various other religions in order to solidify His position as the one true God.
@@TactlessGuy You're thinking of "Fierce Battle," which is absolutely not in Naoki's Perspective. We're referring to "Normal Battle." (The standard one, not the ~Town or ~Large Map variations). This is probably the only song that sounds like it from Naoki's POV, because no one else would consider their fate a haunting curse, or have to assert that they are a human being.

I'm really glad that the Demi-fiend fight is as it is, since P5R previous protagonist DLC was so pathetically easy. It really does makes you feel like a random encounter
The reason why they were easy is bc they were challenge battles. All the challenge battles in the game were easy, the difficulty came from meeting the objectives of the battle set. They were actually fairly difficult to reach if you were going in blind with no set up. If you play through the game normally, you would have to take a few hours getting the right set up for a persona, skill cards, unique skills, etc. for the battle. (Just to clarify in case this makes me look it, I am not just blindly defending the game, I'm a huge fan of the entire franchise and am just pointing something out)

This guy was a fun fight. He kicked my ass 5 times before I figured him out unfortunately his abilities didn’t go great with my build I did however take his affinities and made the rest of the game trivial 10/10 would get my ass kicked again

I decided to try fighting this guy right after beating trumpeter. The battle starts, he uses javelin rain, the only ones left standing were the nahobino thanks to the carving in the previous room and then mother harlot. What a fight. I've never been so happy to be utterly demolished
I really like the detail in that the The Top Floor of the Tower of Kagutsuchi theme starts playing at 02:28 Hinting at what the Demi-Fiend really accomplished.
DDS: Normal ass theme, you are nothing to him. SMT V: Actually sees you as a worthy challenge. You ain't the worst thing he's ever fought, sure, but he's impressed enough to bring his A game.
I can't wait until SMT7 in 2039, when we have to fight the Nahobino, Amanozako's Heavenly Counter is an insta-kill, Fionn's Mac an Luin always crits, and Idun gets to spam Golden Apple without consuming MP.
If you listen to the Demi fiends lyrics here he’s pretty much telling you that he doesn’t want to do this anymore. He never wanted to do this. He wants his home back.
Probably my favorite fight in the entire game. Preserved a save file slot just to refight him for fun; I've beat him with my squad of favorite demons on hard 4 times so far.
Man they somehow made demifiend even harder than in DDS, seeing people struggle to beat him even on casual difficulty. Props to anyone that manages to beat him on hard
Not to mention all the skills you need to set up with to even have a chance, a super strict strategy to win and even then it's not an assured win. Like you said, RNG. You have to hope he doesn't use X move on X turn. And you need to hope your team DOESN'T dodge being put to sleep the turn before he uses Gaea rage or it's GG@@Windermed
Nahobino should definitely become a superboss later, with demons like Fionn McCumhaill, Amanozako and Hayataro, also using a few moves from demi fiend alluding to the battle in SMTV
The fact that this is a remix of the Normal Battle Theme is scary when you realize it. Demi-Fiend doesn't see you as a big obstacle or someone who poses a threat to him. But views you as just another enemy in his way. Ready to destroy the Nahobino in front of him.
Funny looking at all the comments and how everyone talks about this game like it's an anime. It's kinda adorable but if youve been a long time fan, you can see how different it is from back then. I'm just glad we got the HD remaster, V and more exposure for the franchise overall.
There's an irony in how the SMT3 standard battle theme was recorded with like a dozen different guitar riffs to help stop it feeling too stale when it's used for a whole game, and yet there's just the one everyone remembers.
I attempted this boss for like a week and a half preparing and crafting the best team i could. For days i chipped away at the demi fiend slowly lowering his health further and further with each attempt. I'm hanging out with some mates while doing some attempts and then it happens. I got demi fiend to the red suddenly we are all pitching in trying to come up with the correct plan, unfortunately pixie heals the fiend and he's back in the green. But now all 5 of us are fully invested in this battle of attrition. Using up all of my heals after some really unfortunate misses we get him back in the red. Its slow but pixie cant heal anymore and my team while bruised was healthy enough to fire off a few more of their most powerful attacks. Finally with one last "MURAKUMO" demi fiend goes down. Then all of us start screaming like madmen and i was relieved that it was finally over. Until one of them said "Hey, this is just normal mode right?" And with that the hard mode demi fiend grind had begun and i felt like Sisyphus with a Demi fiend shaped mountain .
I kinda expected the Boss DLC to be Anarchy Nanashi and Corrupted Flynn from IV Apocalypse instead of Demifiend, will have to see if Demifiend is just as hard as on DDS, or even more challenging. I suppose they went with Demifiend instead since the HD Remaster was the lastest SMT being released before V.
I think it's due to the parallels between Demifiend and Nahobino. Demifiend is a man warped into a demon, and Nahobino is a human realized into divinity.
A remix version of it but yes, says a lot about his power. The Demi Fiend was looking for an opponent who is worthy to fight and the Nahobino proved himself to him.

It feels weird for Freikugel to be not as powerful as Gaea Rage. I'm not saying I want another "GG shake my hand" move, but... It just feels weird.

Hearing the “my fate is an awful curse. I am but a human being” lines always makes me think it’s human Naoki screaming underneath his new form and how imprisoned he must feel and it hurts
I always just assumed that it was the inner thoughts of Naoki at the start of the plot. He's trapped in some godforsaken hellhole where demons are everywhere, and he has no choice but to carry on, watching as his friends go mad, and his teacher is well over her head.
It's important to remember that this theme came in the original Shin Megami Tensei III, where the objectively best ending was the Freedom Ending (The TDE didn't exist). The song itself could have been him asking Yuko to make a new world ("Please, make this a real world!"), especially since the game has us help her no matter what, and she tells us at the beginning to find her.
After awhile though, I feel as though this point is somewhat lost, and it just becomes a cool soundtrack, embodying how far he's come, and the power that he has obtained. The theme that symbolized how lost and afraid he was, has become a symbol of him being an absolute Chad.
It has nothing to do about Naoki suffering. The lyrics in all of Nocturne's battle tracks are spoken in the perspective of either an angelic being or a devout follower. Mixed with the chaos of the instruments and vocal effects, it's meant to paint an image of an authority's (namely God's) tyranny. The "one more God rejected" line, I believe, is supposed to portray that the Judeo-Christian God is supplanting authority from the other gods of various other religions in order to solidify His position as the one true God.
@@TactlessGuy You're thinking of "Fierce Battle," which is absolutely not in Naoki's Perspective. We're referring to "Normal Battle." (The standard one, not the ~Town or ~Large Map variations). This is probably the only song that sounds like it from Naoki's POV, because no one else would consider their fate a haunting curse, or have to assert that they are a human being.
He chose to become what he is now. He could have been the creator of the new world. But, the call of chaos was too much for him to resist.

The reason this song is used is because it's the most iconic, recognizable song from Nocturne. It has literally nothing to do with some meta ass "Demi-Fiend seeing you as a random encounter" shtick. If that were true, then both Minato and Yu see Joker as a random encounter in P5R because their encounter themes play for their boss fights. It's just due to recognizability, not lore lol.

I'm really glad that the Demi-fiend fight is as it is, since P5R previous protagonist DLC was so pathetically easy.

The reason why they were easy is bc they were challenge battles. All the challenge battles in the game were easy, the difficulty came from meeting the objectives of the battle set. They were actually fairly difficult to reach if you were going in blind with no set up. If you play through the game normally, you would have to take a few hours getting the right set up for a persona, skill cards, unique skills, etc. for the battle. (Just to clarify in case this makes me look it, I am not just blindly defending the game, I'm a huge fan of the entire franchise and am just pointing something out)

The fact that this is a remix of the Normal Battle Theme is scary when you realize it. Demi-Fiend doesn't see you as a big obstacle or someone who poses a threat to him. But views you as just another enemy in his way. Ready to destroy the Nahobino in front of him.
Funny looking at all the comments and how everyone talks about this game like it's an anime. It's kinda adorable but if youve been a long time fan, you can see how different it is from back then. I'm just glad we got the HD remaster, V and more exposure for the franchise overall.

There's an irony in how the SMT3 standard battle theme was recorded with like a dozen different guitar riffs to help stop it feeling too stale when it's used for a whole game, and yet there's just the one everyone remembers.
I attempted this boss for like a week and a half preparing and crafting the best team i could. For days i chipped away at the demi fiend slowly lowering his health further and further with each attempt. I'm hanging out with some mates while doing some attempts and then it happens. I got demi fiend to the red suddenly we are all pitching in trying to come up with the correct plan, unfortunately pixie heals the fiend and he's back in the green. But now all 5 of us are fully invested in this battle of attrition. Using up all of my heals after some really unfortunate misses we get him back in the red. Its slow but pixie cant heal anymore and my team while bruised was healthy enough to fire off a few more of their most powerful attacks. Finally with one last "MURAKUMO" demi fiend goes down. Then all of us start screaming like madmen and i was relieved that it was finally over. Until one of them said "Hey, this is just normal mode right?" And with that the hard mode demi fiend grind had begun and i felt like Sisyphus with a Demi fiend shaped mountain .

Ryota Kozuka is a genius. The way he reworked the main riff is so hard & the solo omg this shit is nuts.
I kinda expected the Boss DLC to be Anarchy Nanashi and Corrupted Flynn from IV Apocalypse instead of Demifiend, will have to see if Demifiend is just as hard as on DDS, or even more challenging. I suppose they went with Demifiend instead since the HD Remaster was the lastest SMT being released before V.
