either my ears are youtube fooling me or i feel like the Uad sounds a lot more open and airy in the highs. This is where i hear the biggest difference. Thanks for this comparison as always. Much appreciated. I bought the Uad essentials bundle (or what it was called) and it has the Pultec included. For 50 bucks. Thats a crazy good deal imho
Excellent review, thank you 🙏 I think I like the UAD most. It has the most open sound and the best micro dynamics. However, the free ones are really impressive too!
I absolutely adore the sound of Pultec gear, and I use the UAD systems, I tried the Kiive plugin too and was surprised to hear little difference (although I only have Focal Shape 50s) truly a bargain. I love the work you do David and hopefully with your guidance and reviews I can help hone my ear better.
I've watched hundreds of eq and compressor shootouts and the IK's never sound bad or dreadful. Their whole T-Racks range is very consistent, and when I got my Pro Tools le & M-Box (remember that? 😀) back in 2001 it came with a free T-Racks eq and I always thought it performed and sounded better than the stock PT plugin. Really surprised at the Presonus though.... 😎
YES!!!! Thank you Dave for checking out Analog Obsession! I'm on a tight budget,as i have said in the past and i use a lot of AO plugins and to my old analog ears they sound pretty good. I would love you to compare the BusterSe to your SSL bus,I'm an Trident and Neve guy and not too familiar with SSL and I'm loving the BusterSe on my master bus...I'm glad you added AO on this video YOU have the ear and gear to know what you are talking about and i trust them...and you too Dave! Hehe
For me, what I want to hear or know is if the plug-in will do the job that a Pultec will do. That is, that style of EQ does a certain job. Will this plug-in do it well enough?
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy I meant this more as a general question/interest for any plug-in (or p[lug-in demo) but also specific for here. Thank you. I find it interesting that you particularly like the IK stuff.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy It is an emulation of the Warm Audio EQP-WA. I know this because I was one of the beta testers, and the owner of Kiive is an old friend of mine.
iK Multimedia is the most underrated company ever. Own UAD, waves and the most used plugin suite for me is IK Multimedia. All their plugins easily produce a sound that's impressive....don't know how accurate it is in emulating the hardware, but who cares when they sound so good
Yeah but they treat you like a consumer fool. Just like UAD... they slam your computer with dozens of unsolicited demos. I lost respect for them. Never again. Softube, Arturia, Acustica Audio, etc, there are many good companies out there that treat your computer respectfully. Just sayin...

I like the UA the best out of those choices as well.

I use the UAD ones and also just got the Audioscape hardware versions as well. There is a harmonic difference for sure on the hardware. So buttery.
Hardware sound different than plugins for sure

Ik stuff has always been really good in my opinion

Warmy is a clone of the Warm EQP-WA and i asssure you - setting for setting - it IS a clone of that once you oversample to 4x or more.
How do you know this for sure? Do you work at KIIVE Audio?

I agree 100%.....nice shoot out.

Great. You found the plugins you like. That's all that matters
Co-sign on this

Compare the hardware to plugs that would be interesting
Noted!
always do a fast switch between them when A\B as our minds loose perspective in a few seconds
The IK sounded better on piano, whereas the Warmy sounded better on cymbols.
Thanks for watching!
