I love this EQ. I put it before Kiive Nfuse and it just magically opens the mix up before driving it into the Neve side of the Nfuse. Top notch! Guys, It's Kiiiiiiive, with an english e-sound, like "we". Dan's Kiive Sliive must live on 😉
Totally agree about the school stuff. Mid-80s I was probably 14 and had a mate who was ace at anything musical (they'd probably call him a multi-instrumentalist these days). Anyway, one lunchtime I went into the music room with him as I was interested in learning the drums and he was going to show me what's what. 2 mins in, the music teacher kicked me out because I hadn't booked the music room (even though the friend with me had), and that was that. Brilliant bit of encouragement from the British school system!
God… it’s like they actually WANT you to learn! 🤡 American schools are quite similar in their rules-for-the-sake-of-rules nature, or at least they used to be when I was younger
I wasn’t really looking for another EQ but after the glowing review I tested it against the ProQ3 I had on my master. I think I like it better but do I like it enough to spend £62 🤔 I run my mix through a hardware Elysia museq so this is for mid side tweaks. How do you think it compares against other EQs like the Amek ones?
@@rossjohnmartin It excels at subtle tweaks and has a very pleasing box tone... The AMEK eqs are very good...I think this is slightly different and possibly better. Get a demo and hear if it works for you.👍
@@StudioLife101 I have, really love the tone. I would say the other thing I dislike about some of these plugins is the layout. I know they want it to look like the hardware but I think it would be better if the sections ran in parallel from left to right, would improve the workflow.
@@rossjohnmartin This doesn't look like the hardware...and the layout is odd.. But I think it stops people casually adding the same old smiley face eq etc without actually thinking about it. I really like that. 👍
No comparison to Acustica Zaffre? It came out at the same time. Missed a trick there. Even better would have been to compare to the one accessible on Access Analog. Go to 5:30 for the actual gear part of the video to start
Van 'the absolute legend' Morrison 'Live in San Francisco' album....Awesome!! .....convinced me to cover 'Have I Told you Lately'. In other news why Does Kiive risk blatantly copyng other companies UI design only to have Empirical Labs and Rupert Neve Designs tell 'em to "leave it out' and force them to redesign the UI after release, I guess Kiive are slowly getting the message with their latest offering. however....I'm swimming in the Pulsar 8200 [and Sean just metioned it as I write lol] will give the M5133 a proper 'sherlock' Cheers suckers!
For mastering, this one excels at cuts. But don't forget, it's based off the Focusrite Studio Console equalizer, which Rupert Neve poured his heart and soul into. So, try cuts AND boosts on your individual tracks!
Only at 4:53. Either I'm too high to craft some meaningful sense of the video thus far, or you may have a NO2 tank in the studio with a leaky shut-off valve.

You guys make me miss my family in Essex! Love it!
Have you guys reviewed "the master plan" mastering plugin? I can't remember
@@johndoe-cb5ck Can't remember either...I'll check..👍 😂

Should HMF be on top of LMF in the interface…🤔

Wondering what the Skiive plugin is gonna do, probably not much 😂

Hopefully they don't stay true to form and get asked to change their GUI by Focusrite because it's too close to the hardware.

Ok - Sean defined isomorphic and, regretfully, convinced me to demo this plug.

Did the original Focusrite have upside-down panel logic ... ?
