    Your description says that there is a different procedure for cars with the auto idle stop feature, what is the added step? There is no information online about doing this on the 2023 models (which likely all have the auto idle stop), but they have the same Powertrain and i believe will be roughly the same as they also have the check bolt. You certainly have the best video on doing this, so thank you!

    Be aware that if you don’t have a lift, the car needs to be level when you check the fluid level. Either all 4 wheels on the ground, or some combination of ramps and jack stands to get it level.

    Thank you for this tutorial. You may want to update this to reflect that this is only applicable to 1.5L engines, not the 2.4L LX models. On those, the plug and fill port are directly under the water outlet that goes to the lower radiator hose.

    • @Cargorage
      @Cargorage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well do sir. In Canada, there is only the 1.5L that I have encountered so far. The 2.4L engine was the previous fourth gen.

    Thank you for showing, it took a good while to find out where the check bolt was. There must be a dipstick shortage or too many dipsticks working on cars so manufacturers have to complicate things to protect their products.

    Did i do it right ??

      You didn't do it wrong. The parts that you have to check the fluid checker plug is important to follow so you're putting the right amount. Pls follow the procedure in the video. The fluid capacity is mentioned in the video.

    • @zepp3lin
      @zepp3lin ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You don't need to change the transmission filter inside the CVT trans. It's a very low pressure only for suction. Unless your transmission gave problems like burning and chunks of a metal break then you change it during the repair. It's not meant to be changed that's why it's inside the drain pan. You just need to change the oil regularly to have a tip-top transmission.

  • @vermontvermont9292
    @vermontvermont9292 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Whats the divet in the oil pan for? Ive noticed on some cars theres a black cylinder inside that area too. Im talking about the engine oil pan.

    • @Cargorage
      @Cargorage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think its for oil pan heater of some sort.

    How critical is transmission oil volume spec??? I drained my 2016 AWD EX-L transmission oil this morning (cold) into a calibrated container. I measured exactly 5-qts (160 oz). This is the first trans oil change ever (67k miles) . I bought the car new. The old and new HCF-2 oil was at the same 54 DegF. So, I put 5 quarts back in (w. new washer). Am I over thinking this???

    • @Cargorage
      @Cargorage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thats actually how much i would put in since the spec says 4.2L, so to answer your question (yes its critical) but as long as you follow the procedure and filling it and running it through all the gears then most importantly check the level checker and let it drain out extra fluid until you can see small drips then install the bolt. Thats should fix the overfilling. Ok

      That assumes you weren’t low to begin with. (You probably weren’t low if you weren’t seeing leaks, but I would check the check bolt anyway.)

    • @vermontvermont9292
      @vermontvermont9292 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StrongDreamsWaitHere always check the level check. Idk about the crv. I'm assuming its the same idea civic, accord, crv. The service manual actually says after the drain and fill and shift procedure to warm the vehicle up. Wait until the cooling fans have come on twice. After the fan cycle ends for the second time shut vehicle off, and check level. If nothing comes out, add more, repeat shift procedure, wait for 2 fan cycles and check again. Apparently you want it until it's a steady drip drip drip drip rather than a stream. Then again....what do I know? I do mine every 3rd oil change. I'm also going to do the CVT filter once I hit 50k so in about 13,000 miles. I'm also considering installing an aftermarket CVT cooler. I've heard really good things about doing this.

      depending on your driving habits. The maintenance minder will come on the dash, ranges from 48k-110k. For my car, ill do it at 50k-60k. Thats just my choice.
