👍👍🌟🌟🌟🌟A classic Big80’s film about 1980’s adolescent life-with a great soundtrack and great star-making performances from Sean Penn,Jennifer Jason Leigh,Phoebe Cates and Judge Reinhold-plus a wonderful script by Cameron Crowe and superb direction by Amy Heckerling!!!
I turned 17 in 1982 and remember seeing this movie on the marquee for the first time. I remember watching it and even then knew it captured 80's teen angst perfectly. This movie is timeless and the happiness and struggles of youth never changes. Long live the 80's. I miss those days so much.
Phoebe Cates looked stunning in her red bikini, the scene which spawned several parodies, most notably the video for "Stacy's Mom." She seems to be thriving out of the spotlight, owning a boutique and married to Kevin Kline.
I was in HS when FS was released. Wow, was Phoebe the crush of every boy who couldn't get a girl like me. I was determined to marry her ...those plans kinda fell through.
Dittos....damn I miss the smell.....I lost my sense of smell a decade ago so I couldn't even if they were still around, but I will never forget. A few years back I found a ditto that had slipped behind a baseboard radiator....I am sure the smell was long gone but damn did it bring back memories. Today's youth have no idea what they missed.
Yup. Class of '77 kid, and I wouldn't change a thing. I had the best of both decades. What a magical time. Btw, I have that horse colt 45 T-shirt Spicolli wore. 😂🪄❤️
While there are many high lights in this movie, but the one that will always stand out to me is the one at 1:20. If you know, then you know! But for those that dont... They, and 10's of thousands of us out here, are smelling their sheets of paper because of the aroma of the now dead & buried (probably gave users cancer/brain damage ect) DITTO machine fluid. That blue ink substance had an aroma that is not only unmistakable and unforgettable, it was intoxicating! Every time we had a test or a "fill in the blanks" worksheet, it was almost an unconscious action to inhale that aroma! I wish I could describe it to you, but really its almost like trying to describe how bacon smells when its cooking, of the smell of fresh baked bead... you just cant pit it into proper words!
You know its true when today's generation agrees too. Normally its "every generation says that" - well along with soooooo many other things, that's not true anymore, the 80's were truly an awesome time. Even the 90's were pretty great, all seems to have gone to literal hell in the mid 2000's and we've been living in an upside down reality for the last 2 decades.
@@Lorenzconnok it's just boring, everything became boring after the 80s, no great music, movies. 2000 was more of the same. the innocent years, but the best years the US had was from the 40s to 90s or so, people made good money, where able to retire, less poverty, new homes.. cheap homes. lots of work. Corporate raiders came in the 80s and they still are destroying all the good things workers had. Since they don't know what work will be made, they decided to turn the world upside down. no social security, violence and police can't do their job and some on the top don't feel like doing it either. They pretend they are but someone else is telling them not to do it. I would be fired if I didn't do my job, but they are not.
Yea I was 13/14 when this movie was released, ahhhh to be young again. Almost 56 WHERE DOES THE TIME GO. Time is sneaky scary fast. Us that were young in this era were truly lucky. The polar opposite of today's world. Peace............

*Got this Montage Years ago!!!...Love it♥...it was a Magical Time in a real world of Love and Innocence...and we were*
Phoebe Cates was absolutely hot but Jennifer Jason Leigh had my heart strings. Simply beautiful and her personality was off the charts.🙂🙂
Nope. Gotta go with PC back then. I will say that JJL was hot for a longer period of time though. I'll give you that.
One of my fav movies

This a documentation of the birth of the 80s.
This movie was wild 😂❤
We didn't know how good we had it. Would not trade for a second.
I was 18 in 1982 ! I miss those times now but didn't realize how great we had it then!
Ahhhh take me back to the 80’s. Who’s with me?
Sessão da tarde, quem lembra minha adolescência anos 80 ,que saudades de você 😂😂😂

Today's schools need more teachers like Mr. Hand and more principals like Joe Clark!

Yeah, she broke millions of fragile male hearts when she married Kevin.
She looked even better without the top 😂
@@VillaRustica-uv4fd Hey Brad...
Stacy's mom is a felon is the best parody.
What a great song and movie. Those were the greatest of days.
Amazes me that Sean Penn and Forest Whitaker would go onto have stellar careers
Mr. Hand was the best. Great performance by Ray Walston.
I miss Ray Walston
My high school life in the 80s at 16vyears old!🎉shopping malls & video games was really fun

Phoebe Cates is still looking good in 2024.❤
Great song, great movie!
The 70s were still alive and well in late 81.

Yep. I’m HS class of 1981. Your comment was on point!
"Valerie Ryerson" liked Jackson Browne [ Hold Out ] . So I decided to listen to that song, and discovered many more of Jacksons' hits...
This movie actually made me proud that I worked in a mall! Okay, not proud, but more tolerant. My cool friends were lifeguards at the city pool.
Great time to be a kid Miss it!😊
Love this movie and video ! Thanks !
Has any other other teen sex comedy had actors in it that went onto win 4 Best Actor Oscars? Plus numerous other Emmys, Golden Globes etc?
ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC MOVIES OF THE 80’S WITH BREAKFAST CLUB , TOP GUN, ROAD HOUSE ,
Day's of thunder

Different dimension ..... the arcade at the Mall !
The pizza guy.. I forget his name... Died really young he also played a pizza guy twice.
Is That The Girl In Gremlins?
Yup; same girl. Phoebe Cates, the ruiner of so many rented VHS tapes.
41 Years later I now realise Jennifer Jason Leigh was the hottest chick in FTARH, not Phoebe Cates
Америка здорового человека!
This will always be Stacy's song to me.
How slices does he left, why I keep on asking yourself that? 1:27
It is her
Uhh you left out the best scene.
I did
This song only played in scenes when someone was about to go down on Stacy
