    Dear Mr. Vernon,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us - in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.
    Does that answer your question?
    Sincerely yours,
    The Breakfast Club

Not quite - I read about it yesterday ... it was written for Simple Minds, but they were reluctant, preferring to concentrate on their own music. Note that it was never included on one of their albums.
The writers then offered it to Bryan Ferry and Billy Idol, who declined. Then Chrissie Hynde (Jim Kerr's wife at the time) and their manager piled on the pressure, and they recorded it.

i remember my father showing me this movie
and i remember sitting next to him
and watching him re-experiencing his childhood
    slowly crying on the inside
i think he shed a tear or two, which he extremely rarely does at films
i remember him looking over at his kid
    seeing himself in me
seeing one of his favorite movies captivating me
at the end i shed a tear too
this is a breathtaking film that was made excellently
one of the very few movies i don't consider movies
    but
    cinematic experiences

Takes me right back to my high school. I remember sitting in class with everyone talking about the Breakfast Club.

This took place in 82 I believe. I was in college, and it reminded me of something I thought was esoteric.

This was a hit during my generation. A teacher introduced us to this gem in highschool...I graduated in 2003 and played this along with ferris bueller on dvd

this movie is a true masterpiece, addresses all the problems of every teenager but in a beautiful but real way...every person who sees it feels identified with it...i love it! can watch it over and over again and never get tired of it! i'm 35 but i would've loved to be a teenager in the 80s
