Now that's one movie they could never remake
Just putting it out there... Victorious did a Breakfast Club episode and it was pretty hilarious
Edit: wrong show
Remaking this movie today would be a groupful of non gender snowflake freaks self loathing frankfurt school abortion bucket excerment that passes for teenage angst today.

I am 54 now and this film always brings lots of memories of my childhood growing up in 1985
I feel you Walter, born March 1970, enjoyed the 80s like there’s no tomorrow… still live there in a way. Will always love Molly Ringwald.
Un abrazo!
Same. WE ARE 80's BRATS, ❤
I am not going to tell you my age but it is a good song
Dear Mr. Vernon,
We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us - in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.
Does that answer your question?
Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club
i liked for the pure effort u put into this
Hell yes!
Who else could hear Michael Anthony Hall reading this, and then the rest of them personally saying what they are at the end?
P.S. Screw You !
Love this movie ❤️
5 guys sitting and talking, sharing feelings, their mistakes, without any cell phone ... that's science fiction in 2020. My favorite movie of all times.

I really like the movie but I have to protest with Back to the future

Goonies. this is close though

This movie is pure genius. They simply do not make movies like this anymore. Timeless classic that captures the hope, the dreams, the horrors and the broken promises of growing up. Ultimately these kids realize it's THEY who will define themselves, not their parents or the schools or society. Utterly fantastic movie!!! And excellent music!!!
But we are all a product of our society, culture and genetic heritage. And parents do have a huge influence on how you ultimately turn out in life. It’s just another typical movie promoting ‘muh individualism’ to the white guy 🙄
They no longer make movies about regular life stuff or meaningful adventurea
Judd was 🔥
This movie is a straight masterpiece and they better never try and remake it. There will never be another Breakfast Club movie with an epic song to go with it. Shout out to Simple Minds!
Only thing that came close to it was the parody in Not Another Teen Movie and that was more of a nod to the genius of the movie. And it had the principle in it!

The song was meant for Billy Idol who recorded it, but they decided to go for Simple Minds version. As they say the rest is history!
It wouldn't make sense to any other generation, and they'd never make a movie just for us aging Gen X'ers. They could maybe make a movie about Gen Z for Gen Z'ers, but that would be a whole different movie, and I wouldn't have a problem with that.
The 80’s best generation ever .....
I should know I lived it my childhood 80s.
Love this song!
It will be.
If we get up off our awesome asses and fix this shit.

Two masterpieces: the film and the song.

The movie "The Breakfast Club" is a movie that every teenager (and others) should see.

The creator of this movie is a genius thank you John Hughes
I graduated HS in '86. This movie means so much to my generation. Times were simpler, yet just as complicated. I was a mash up of the characters. I was a jock, I bit my nails in class, and had an abusive father. This movie was and is my teen years. Cheers from America!
A great song without an expiration date. Still feels as powerful and moving as it did in 1985. Don't You Forget About Me.

I'm obsessed with this movie and this song! I've probably seen this movie nearly 💯 times! I watch it every time it airs anywhere.... and I have the CD. I grew up in the 80s and it's so relatable.
The genius of this film is that everyone in the audience can identify with one of the characters. I was born in 76 and always identified with John Bender. I was that kid. This film and song will always hold a very special place in my heart. I know some of you reading this know exactly what I mean. 😉👍 I love all of you. X
So true! Although I was 25 in 1985 & well past high school days, I still related to this film. And this classic tune was a dance floor dream in the clubs back in the day. Absolutely love it!!

Today I'm in my 40's and I identify with Carl the janitor.
Born 1972 - knowing exactly what you mean ♥️

John Hughes forever 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love how even their seating arrangement indicates their position.
Claire and Andrew sit next to each other at the front, clean-cut and on display.
Bender sits behind them, taking the backseat and watching them with the snarky observations, also partially hidden in their shadow as it were.
Brian and Allison are off to the side, both much more isolated than the others, but Brian is in the front (good student with a good image) and Allison is in the back (forgotten wallflower)

disagree strongly lol. best movies, no. Most of yall are blinded by nostalgia. Movie tech definitely wasnt advanced as it is now, and the acting was mediocre at best. I am from the Breakfast Club generation. This was the coming-of-age movie for me in high school. I would say it's my favorite movie ever, and certainly the best theme song ever. Cant believe billy idol turned down the chance to record this and luckily simple minds accepted it and made a legendary song that made a film timeless
nina woodriff wow and for a while when I was younger I thought it was Billy who sang this song LOL
It was David Bowie who turned it down.
Not quite - I read about it yesterday ... it was written for Simple Minds, but they were reluctant, preferring to concentrate on their own music. Note that it was never included on one of their albums.
The writers then offered it to Bryan Ferry and Billy Idol, who declined. Then Chrissie Hynde (Jim Kerr's wife at the time) and their manager piled on the pressure, and they recorded it.
This was THE defining movie of my high school experience. Hated high school but loved this movie.
Watching this is like witnessing my own largely misspent youth flash before my eyes. It makes me sad that these days are gone and we've all grown older. Take me back to the 80s when things were carefree and so much less complicated.
