  • A look at the Cleric's healing potential with two action heal spells. Is this enough? Can they avoid all the three action heal feats and put those feats into something else?

    I noticed an error in the feat listing at 3:50. Healing Hands is in the 2nd level slot when it should be in 1st, with Domain Initiate in 2nd, Communal Healing in 4th, etc. You actually have the 8th-16th level feat slots for you to do whatever you want with, rather than 10th-16th. As for build suggestions, if you're going human, maybe pick up Natural Ambition for Domain Initiate at 1st so you can grab Communal Healing and Improved Communal Healing earlier and free up the 6th level feat slot to do whatever you wish with. Overall, I enjoyed this video of yours Crunch, good work.

      Great catch!! I like that, too, with the natural ambition human. If you have feats from level 6 to 16 to do whatever you want, you can do some interesting things. Glad you are here!

      Well, you can still get the domain initiate at first level without the natural ambition feat, since the cloistered cleric gets that for free

    Hello Mr. Crunch McDabble, love your Content. I Defently want to try this Build, I love Cleric or Champion for some Reason.
    I have a suggestion, using the Aasimar Heritage, lvl 5 , "Healer's Halo"
    An Reaction if "You or Allies gain HP from Healing , They get an addictonal 1d6 HP. "
    So this Would make the Build even more efficent.
    I will try a Human-, Aasimar + natural Ambition for lvl.1 Healing Hands, Cloister Cleric for Domain, lvl. 3 Ancetreal Paragon for 1. Lvl Halo Ancestry Feat (with you need, for lvl.5 Healer's Halo).
    I'm very excited to try This Build , as soon as possible.

    Built my human medic warpriest a few months ago before seeing this video. You may like the specific adaptation. Natural ambition and versatile heritage to get risky surgery and healing domain initiate. At second level picked up rapid reaponse, medicine assurance, and free archetype of bastion. Level 3: continual recovery. 4: healing hands, disarming block, and ward medic. Level 6 is gonna be nimble shield hand, magic hands, and magical crafting. My Idea is to get the shield warden by level 8, extra shield block reaction at 10, then take scroll trickster dedication. Capping at Master Lvl 20 to get an extra scroll (essentially free spell slot) up to level 7 spells. Plus all the extra utility of that dedication. Even thinking about dual wielding shields. One would be exploding...

      I shed a triumphant tear at the sheer beauty of that build. well done!!! That character would rush into the thick of danger when an ally falls in battle and then provide medical treatment while protecting them with their shield. Now THAT is a good party member!! If I was a fighter I'd want that guy on my team.
      If you didn't mind the bulk, you could throw up a tower shield in one hand and a sturdy shield in the other. One for AC and one for shield blocking.

    Field of Life doesn't seem that great as it says ALL living creatures which means unless your fighting undead it is gonna be healing the enemies as well. Also with Vital Beacon can't other's use the heal as well? So it could help save your action economy a bit.

    What are your thoughts on the Life Mystery Oracle?

    • @LegendaryCMD
      @LegendaryCMD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can relate...life is a mystery. I want to compare them to the maxed out healing cleric, i think the cleric is better but not sure. Haven't looked too closely yet.

    • @kylone1
      @kylone1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LegendaryCMD Heh, it's a mystery. The tl;dr is that Life Mystery Oracles get the benefits and drawbacks that are different from the cleric: when they progress their curse to moderate they get the benefits: d12 healing dice, spell level to an ally (but not self) in extra healing (like communal healing). They also get some drawbacks: any healing to themselves is reduced by 1/2 their level (round up) and the can't be healed by anyone else's healing magic. (They also get 10 HP per level, and can all Oracles can wear light armor.
      It's both a curse and a blessing, which is kind of fitting, actually.

    • @LegendaryCMD
      @LegendaryCMD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kylone1 interesting. so communal healing with no feat spent, d12 healing, but harder to heal yourself. I think it's worth putting them head to head...but maybe not how I was thinking. I wanted to compare healing power...but maybe a class comparison would be more useful...like advantages and disadvantages of each. Thanks! glad you are here!!

    Currently running a Goblin Cleric in a friend's campaign. I dumped Wisdom. Here's what has changed since previous editions that seem to pop up as ghosts.
    Healing from the heal spell does not stack with Wisdom. My goblin had 18 CHA at lot and got 4 extra heal spells. My spell list is on utility, guidance, forbidding ward, summon monster (mine is construct because I let my GM choose my religion). The rest of my spells are magic weapon and bless.
    Using buffs does not require checks. So dump Wisdom and buff up your other attributes. Those CHA based heals are always heightened.
    So far I haven't needed to attack but I did anyways. Goblins should be using slings. Slings do great damage and keep you behind your allies but close enough to heal them.

    I know you're called "Crunchy" because characters only reach level 20 in theory. I'm going to make a Lizardfolk healer using this as the guide. This one deserves re-watching (which I'm doing now). I wish you could thumbs-up stuff more than once.

    What level do you take these feats

    • @LegendaryCMD
      @LegendaryCMD  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are human you can take healing hands at level 1. Then take communal healing with your level 2 feat. Take Improved Communal healing at level 4. You get domain initiate automatically if you are a cloistered cleric at level 1 so you can grab healer's blessing if you have a deity with the healing domain. That should cover you early on. If you aren't human you could take healing hands with your level 6 feat. Hope that helps!! glad you are here!

    Healer's Blessing at third level gives three extra hp, not four. This fault carries through the rest of your examples.

    • @FuckinPaco1
      @FuckinPaco1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The spell was changed not too long ago. Healer’s Blessing gives 2 hp to your target. So a PC at level 3 can use it to give 4 extra points of healing.

      Interesting note on this: I re-downloaded the Core Rule Book PDF (the file now says 2nd printing) and it includes this change to healer's blessing. So the errata must be updated in the PDF...which is great...just needed to download it.

      Did you skip the intro of the vid? It's how to build a "good enough" healer with minimal feat investment into healing. Leaving more feats for you to do other things with in combat.
