I like to use the long method for plants that are generally a bit more difficult and I have found that the ficus family are not for me. I think the roots adapt very easily, the trick is to keep the humidity up. I used the long method for the big fiddle purely because it was so big and I did not want to lose any leaves which I thought would happen before the roots had time to kick in if you know what I mean.
Hi Nora, I got some questions for you, if you can help me out, please? When should you know to use an air bubbler and heat mat? Or could you always use both for all cuttings and plants you're transitioning from soil to leca?
Oh Nora I didn’t know I can’t put baby plants in lecca I moved a baby fictus to lecca 2 weeks ago but she’s doin well . My spider plant didn’t survive but it wasn’t 💯 healthy so was expecting to loose it
I used to transfer my ficuses to leca, but it didn't always work so well for allof them. I decided to try transferring one from soil to pumice only, and it thrived, now all my10 ficuses are in semihydro with only pumice, and they thrive. Because they also like soil mix with lots of pumice in it I was like hey; why not. They maybe shed one leave, a few didn't shed any leaves, they immediately grew their roots in the pumice. I got mine in a south facing window, so I guess that helps a lot too.
@@wanderotter4667 I have recently moved some plants into only pumice but I also have some in leca....im experimenting with 50/50 pumice and perlite and 50/50 perlite and leca on a few and so far they are loving it
@@TheLecaQueen It's scary trying all of the different semihydro options! I for sure like leca with a wick the most.Your triangularis albo looks great, recently got one too. They're so pretty with the hoya-like leaves.
I find myself going down a Rabbit hole with your videos 💯 Amazing videos thank you
Awesome! Thank you!
Excellent video, as usual. I always learn so much! Thank you, Nora! Love the use of the LePot with the air stone as a transitional step! ❤️❤️
Thank you kindly
Congratulation Nora ! They're so beautiful 😍My triangularis albo var almost died not long ago😅 Such a stressing plant but totaly worth it
Thank you 😊
What a great recovery Nora, because ficus plants are unforgiving….
That was a great teaching video….🌵🌵🌵
Thank you. I was shocked I did not lose more leaves!!
Great job Nora! Just curious about why you didn’t use the “long method” this time? Thanks for sharing & looking fwd to updates!

@@TheLecaQueen I got it; thanks Nora!
Beautiful plants and amazing double pot. Good luck with your new babies.
Thanks so much! 😊
Just the video I need 😊
So glad to hear it. What are you doing?

Well done for saving your plant❤
Thank you. It was a bit touch and go there.
Nice job! I love Ficus Triangularis but haven't owned one yet. I'll probably pick one up someday if I stumble across a nice one at Lowe's or wherever.
It is such a beautiful plant right?
How do you decide when to use the long method vs. transferring from soil straight to leca?

Yes you can put baby plants in leca, you just gotta be really careful
How often do you top up your reservoirs? I have recently moved many of my plants over to leca and some to pumice and these plants seem extra thirsty
I try to always have nutrients in the reservoir
@TheLecaQueen what do you use for nutrients?

It is scary, but you know what one of my favourite sayings is? Fortune favours the brave!!!!
I'm on a plant ban, I should not have watched
