Cate Blanchett was Australian (not anymore) and so is Margot Robby. Monster trucks are a USA thing and there is no monster truck culture in Australia. So it was a stupid ass question, of course Margot Robbie isn't into monster trucks. She's an EX-girlfriend for multiple reasons, and this narrowmindedness most certainly is one of them.
It's fun to see that opera singers and vocal coaches (Maggie Renée, The Charismatic Voice etc.) analyze metal songs and really get emotional when listening to this genre of music!
The lyrics often are incredibly deep and touching, and the musical composition often is just absolutely perfect to move the correct emotions in the strongest way possible at exactly the right moments.
And of course it's just lovely mindless loud agression, which also can be awesome from time to time!
But the most mindless metal usually still is much deeper than the vast majority of pop songs these days.

I remember a few years back on a Dutch talk show there was an item about how a Dutch celebrity liked metal. At first I thought is was gonna be cringe because the usual "HoW cAn YoU lIkE metal comments" and the first few clips were Rammstein and Metallica, which all pretty surface level stuff. But then they went on to show bands like Gojira and Meshuggah and the host of the show even made a comment about how virtuosic some of these musicians are followed by a clip of John Petrucci playing the solo of Stream of Conciousness.
Still cannot believe we had fucking Dream Theater and Meshuggah on Dutch television with a host that actually asked interesting questions about what is so appealing about it.

My favorite band is a melodic death metal band (called Avatar) and when I showed one of their songs to an old relative she was SHOCKED.
She's a professional violinist and she actually loved how complex and melodic that was. She turned up the volume and _immediately_ gave my headphones to her son so he could listen to it too : 'here, just LISTEN to this! Apparently this is metal! Can you believe it? What did you say their name was, dear? I have to look more into this.' 😂
Proof that more people could love this genre if they actually gave it a try instead of deciding they don't like it based on stereotypes!
Btw, what's your favorite band? I'd love to discover some new ones to listen to!

The only reason I can think of why Kate Blanchet made a connection between metal and monstertrucks is because they're both aggressive. Still I find it baffling that the first thing that comes to her mind when she hears metal is big cars driving on smaller cars. That's aggressive - sure. It's also destructive and that's not necessarily what metal is about. It's not like everyone who likes metal would want a slayer patch stitched onto their leg.

Heavy metal is a style that demands a lot from a musician, as it is necessary to unite technique with strength, with interpretation and brutal knowledge of harmony. And all this, with control. I usually say that, a good heavy metal musician, performs any music of any style. Of course, there will always be a prejudice against us metal musicians, unfortunately.
