  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 15 พ.ย. 2024
  • Concert Date: May 29, 2006
Venue: Royal Albert Hall, London, England
Tuneage: Comfortably Numb - first appears on Pink Floyd's 1979 double album, The Wall.
David Gilmour has performed the song during each of his solo tours.
In his 1984 tour to promote his album About Face, the set list referred to the song as "Come On Big Bum". The vocals during the verses were performed by band members Gregg Dechart and Mickey Feat.
In 2001 and 2002, the verse vocals were performed on different dates by guest singers: Robert Wyatt, Kate Bush, Durga McBroom, and most notably Bob Geldof, who had played Pink in the movie version of The Wall.
On 29 May at the Royal Albert Hall, David Bowie, in a guest appearance, sang Waters' part of the song. The next day, on 30 May, Richard Wright sang Waters' part, by himself, on the same venue. Both performances were immortalized on Gilmour's Remember That Night concert video.
In 2006, David Gilmour performed the song in a concert, with the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra providing the orchestral parts that had usually been done with backing tapes or multiple synthesizers. This version would be released on Live in Gdańsk.
    The awesome band:
David Gilmour - lead and backing vocals, electric, acoustic, guitars.
Richard Wright (28 July 1943 -- 15 Sept, 2008 - RIP) - lead and backing vocals, hammond organ, piano, synthesizer.
Dick Parry - tenor and baritone saxophones, electronic organ.
Phil Manzanera - twelve string acoustic guitar, electric guitar & backing vocals.
Guy Pratt - bass guitar, double bass, backing vocals.
Jon Carin - synthesizer, backing vocals, lap steel guitar, programming.
Steve DiStanislao - drums, percussion & backing vocals.

What a gentleman. Bowie was always the polite one and knew how to grow old gracefully. Something some of the artists of today seem to have forgotten how to.....not mentioning any names.....But his passing is putting back some decent rock in to the ears of the younger generation and hopefully that will be an inspiration to many more like him. Miss you so much Mr Starman, you never let me down. RIP

That's how it should be for every human on the planet. Witness sheeple throwing the sign of the horns at metal gigs without getting into any of the music - fucking too-cool-for-school hipsters in every genre. No mosh pit here, but Gilmour would be absolutely awesome onstage with a guitarist like John Petrucci - probably putting the cart before the horse considering DT's obvious prog rock heritage :D

If was there to witness Bowie and Gilmore together on stage with Gilmore shredding his solo like this you bet I'd be rocking just like that guy.
