I feel like a good chunk of these movies are better for not showing us these scenes and leaving it to out imaginations rather than just showing them to us, like Shiver, Saw, and Stories of a Serial Killer. I think WC Horror should reexamine some of their writers on some of these episodes. Their starting to become more misses than hits.
I think the imagination trope is way overrated. It worked for Jaws by happy accident but movies intentionally using said tactic don’t have the ability to direct of film like Steven Spielberg thus over reaching
Ok list. But Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, shouldn't be on this list. The ending was the point, that Henry is a loner psychopath serial killer, that can't help but kill others. He has no conscious, and feels no remorse. Also, the way they implied that he had knocked her off, rather than showing it and not showing her body. Was way more chilling. In this case, what we think he did is way more frightening, than just showing it.
You can hardly say Halloween missed the money shot of Dr. Loomis' final battle with Michael Myers when you then go on to say that we did see it in the Rob Zombie remake. If you are meaning the original Dr. Loomis, he had seemingly final battles with Michael (retconned each time there was a new sequel) in Halloween 2, Halloween 4, Halloween 5 and Halloween 6. Since Donald Pleasance died in 1995, 23 years before the new sequels, it not as it was a deliberate choice to not include him in those films.
The death of Loomis happened in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers off screen at the end. It was clearly understood in that movie & the only reason they didn't show it is because Donald Pleasance had passed. In the original script, the writers had no intention of him getting killed, but needed to sum up character since he died in real life.
Well actually the reason why you hear him screaming off screen at the end of the theatrical cut of H6 is because as it turns out the producer cut of the movie has a ending scene where after they leave the asylum Loomis goes back to check on Michael to see if he's still there he is kinda until Loomis pulls off the mask and it's revealed that it's Dr. Wynn under the mask and Michael walls off again dressed up in the man in black costume and the thorn curse passes onto Loomis as the thorn symbol appears on his wrist and Loomis screams while Michael could be seen in silhouette walking away going into the night in a different outfit as Michael turns to look as he hears Loomis screaming echoing down the halls of the sanitarium.
@@thehorroranalog2943 Yes, I was aware of those details as well, but wasn't going to type them out. But I was basically saying that scene was cut because he passed so they just made it an ambiguous ending with his screams indicating death.
"Sometimes, less is more" If you, or any of the WhatCulture team, have read any of H.P. Lovecraft's short stories, you'd realise that virtually nothing get's fully explained. All the really disturbing material is interwoven in the Human Psyche . . . . Which also explains why Lovecraft's adaptations to screen don't always translate from the original stories as well as they could. But that's not your problem . . . . . After all, you're only Human . . . . . . . . *Gurgles maniacally in Shoggoth^
Nobody needed to see the Fonz die Because of 3 things 1 it gets the kids outt of the party 2 himbry is done just as bad a Casey and we saw it 20 minutes earlier and 3 Why must we hurt the fonz
To be fair, I remember hear that Cronenberg had a few more scenes to add, but unfortunately wasn't able to due to budget. Which makes sense considering that Cronenberg has never not gone there with works in the 80s.
I don’t think showing Henry kill her in the hotel room and whatever else he did with and to her through the night would have added anything at all to the movie. You can decide yourself what happened
Donald Pleasence died right after filming Halloween 5. He was a very weak, old man in his last appearance, so doing a death scene would have been physically too taxing.
Fan theory: Jason Vorhees is a time lord who can still regenerate hence being able to take mkre damage then most and becomia zombie like The Master (in The Deadly Assasin) and change physically but the drowning made hun brain dead and primal mentally.
You got me for a second with that thumbnail and title. Well done. If that flamethrower chrome mask thing happened or ever happens. I will literally ask for a refund. And yes... I did skipped after 10.
The Hitcher - I've long thought that Nash could have been rescued. The idea is that the police couldn't do anything because the killer would see them approaching. However, they could have sent someone around to the back of the trailer and had them crawl under it to the front, under Nash and then cut her ankles free from the back of the tractor. This person would have been hidden by the trailer, and would have been right in the killer's blind spot while lying on the ground and cutting Nash free.
Who wants to trust a killer to keep his word, which he didn’t as he tore her apart anyways. Cops stand out side School when kids need them, what makes you think a situation like this would be different?
@@Spooky_515 I never said to trust the killer. As for the cops acting different in this situation, two things: 1. The cops themselves were in no danger from the killer, only Nash was. OK, maybe you can argue that he could try to run them over with the truck, but a cop who crawls up under the trailer would be in little danger. 2. This is a movie. Cops are generally braver in movies.
I think nash's death scene not being shown was a good thing...I domt think i could take thst....i love the movie but even that tearing sound make me rit my teeth....gross. I love horror movies but I hat torture porn stuff

It's more of visceral kill, because you as an audience member must use closure to mentally check the 'dead' box

According to WhatCulture everything should be show don't tell because the audience can't picture what happened and have no imagination.
@@JaneDoe1812and some marketing firms. Look at every exposition dump they have across the spectrum. They sell for the lowest common denominator
Thing is, cutting away to show Principal Himbry's corpse would jack up the flow of the story.
I still want Jason vs Freddy vs Ash damnit 😆

I hardly think the death of an actor counts as “missing out”. That’s kind of in poor taste.
It's WhatCulture. Taste has nothing to do with this channel.

As for The Hitcher, in the later remake, the splitting of Nash was shown in full graphic detail. Not necessary in my opinion. 😊
Y'all must be running out of ideas. And yes I still watched.
The ear piercing, high pitched narrators' voice is enough to keep me awake forever.

Two entries for Scream, come on now, you really have the hots for that franchise.

Here's an idea! Why doesn't WhatCultureHorror invest in a thesaurus and find an alternative word for 'iconic'?

Missed out the money shot? That's almost a sentence. Missed out on the? Forgot the? Chose not to include the? Left out the?
Multiverses are played out, that's never a theory I was onboard with.
Kane Hodder not being in F vs J was a huge mistake!
Whoever titled this video and chose the thumbnail knows what they are doing
its pronounced KWE-BEC not QUBEC 🤣🤣I'm from montreal (quebec)
I stopped watching as soon as I realised it wasn't the money shot I was expecting.
I disagree with The Hitcher. We knew her death would be a gut punch, we didn’t really need to see her torn apart.
I'm sorry. But can someone please explain the difference with Jason??? YOU DON'T EVEN SEE HIS FACE!!!
