OMG Scott, thank you so much for this tutorial video. I have learnt many useful tasks from this video to manage my daily computer. Just to be able to ascertain the age of a computer by searching the CPU specs is a total game changer me. Interesting enough, I was thinking of buying an older computer to use as IT learning machine however, after watching your video my present computer is far older than I suspected so will be the practice machine and a newer machine will be my daily driver. Cheers

I totally didn't expect to hear that your customer was turned down by BB like that. Side note: you probably didn't anticipate this when editing your vid, but your ending cards pretty much cover up and obscure the email info graphic at the close of the video.

Nice note: you can modify the ending cards (timing, placement, etc) without having to trash and re-upload your video.

I didn’t even know it was possible to run windows for 2 years without an update forcing a restart.

On desktops I often see 30-60 days of uptime but on laptops when users just shutting the lid down every time they finished, I have seen some crazy numbers.

    $99 for a clone???, insaneee.
And how does BB not have DDR4??? All the shops in my country supply both as DDR4 is still a current generation

Maybe it was just a grumpy technician, unfortunately the $99 data transfer is not expensive here in the US. Plummer, electrician, HVAC will be more expensive than $100/ hours around my state.

I have watched two of your videos and you make things sound harder then it is. no you don't have to randomly ordered different bits of ram hoping that you find the right one you can Google whatever computer you have and it will give you the proper information and guidelines to properly upgrade the PC. I have an optiplex 7050 that came out in 2015 i have a 4.0 m.2 4000read and write SSD a 2.5 sata SSD i have 16gbs of ram and an rx 550 pro with 2gbs of ddr5 vram and an i5 6500k. and i upgraded everything on it I have two diff types of ram at diff mhz and they are all set to 2666 when the higher performing ram is at 3000 the PC will automatically set the megahertz level when you put in the ram. Yes you can change it depending on what kind of motherboard you have but this guy makes everything sound way too hard and I will no longer be watching your videos

Sounds like we are on the same page:
1:26 “I mean, it`s not super difficult to find the right ram, if you are just tossing ram, randomly into the computer, you might going to get some ram which will going to be compatible or functional …. It`s not super difficult to get the right stuff! You might have to go to Kingston or Crucial and use their product identifier to find the right ram”
I am still not sure how technical these videos should be, is it too much or not detailed enough? Was thinking about an average user, who might just need a little help and explanation of how to replace the SSD and how to upgrade ram, so they don’t need to pay $250 to get the job done at BB or at my shop.
If you are a seasoned pro who is easily capable of performing this kind of stuff already, then yes! This sounds way too long and way to complicated than what it is.
If you look at the shelf behind me, you can see the box of an RX 550 4GB Graphics Card which I just used to fix up an OptiPlex recently 😊
Feel free to stick around and call me out if you think I am just BS_ing or let me know if you have a better way to solve a problem. One thing I learnt in these past two decades in IT: there iare always more options to fix the same problem and seeing things for a different angle might yield a better result than my original idea. Thank you!
