    Its easy if you place your empty pot into the bigger one and back fill, then remove smaller pot and it will leave a perfect hole for your plant to go into. Try it next time it makes repotting easy. Blessings.

    I just got a "rescue" Pothos from my office lobby. It was going to be thrown away so I took it home. Once I examined it, I discovered that it's pretty leggy, but it has huge leave. I got all of the materials I need to make a support pole and I'm going to repot and stake it and see if I can make it pretty and give it new life.

    I know a lady in California that has a pothos that goes all around her kitchen I think it's a least 30 ft long, and she has it growing in a water filled vase. It's strange how it grows in water. I really don't know what she fertilizes it with. But it's really impressive.

      A lot of plant can grow in just water. I myself grow an Alocasia Zebrina with great success in just water 👍

      @sehreenJafry 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have pathos sitting in water for more than a year or so, and they just don't grow. I change water every other week and use tap water! And I started placing them in a brighter space of my house which gets alot of indirect sunlight, but they just don't thrive like I have seen them on others.

    • @MimiNwabuokuMD
      @MimiNwabuokuMD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@sehreenJafry The water change is too frequent. You rather want to allow the rooting hormones to accumulate in the vase. Something that will help is for you to clip a tiny little bit off the stem end, dip into *raw, unfiltered honey*, then put back into the water. I was delighted to find my pothos sprouting these fresh, little white root buds within 24 hours of the honey dipping. Good luck!

    I just stumbled across your channel for the first time today. I have to say I’ve seen such a magnificent pothos such as this! I just got several varieties of pothos this week. They are in 6” pots at the moment. But I definitely will be trying to stake at least one of them. I wanted to mention how right you are about good vibes for the plants. I had a very nice small collection of plants many years ago when my boyfriend at the time moved in. My pothos I trained it from the floor and it went back and forth on the ceiling beams. Well he was there less than a year and literally every plant I had died off! Even my beautiful pothos that is normally hard to kill. I did nothing different to my plants. But I swear his bad energy killed them all.

    I got some ceramic pots that are 3 to 6 inches deeper but not much wider than the nursery pots. One of the pots is wider because it's round. However, the mouth is not wider than the mouth of the nursery pot. I got the pots at home goods because I love the look of ceramic pots. The tip about putting the soil in so the plant reaches the top make a so much sense. I was feeling like the new pots were useless. However , the roots will get more space.

    Great video, it was very informational and I actually learned something from it for my Pothos unlike some other videos. When you were talking about growing a bigger Pothos, you said that you should use some sort of pole or stake. Which kind of pole would be best for a Pothos? I just recently bought a moss pole for my monstera deliciosa, and I now have an extra and thought about putting it in my golden Pothos? And thanks again, this video was really good and your Pothos looks amazing!

    • @plantluxxe

      Thank you ❤️🌿💚 yes, miss piles are great! I have both wood one and moss one. I like them equally. The moss acts as an extension of the bed. The leaves will grow larger on a moss pole. Water the pole regularly and give it good sunlight and your plant will be a giant in no time🌿💚❤️
      Let me know how it’s going and how you like the moss pole! 🪴

    I have put all my pothos up poles and the vining philodendrons. Going for larger leaves. The Brazil had large leaves at the bottom of her vines and I bought her as a rescue with walked on vine ends then some one just wrapped them around and around the top of the pot to keep them off the floor. So she needed rehab. Starting to reach the top of her pole and trying to decide if I should chop or add a longer pole.. Was just looking this morning and the top leaves are getting larger. Hoping for the best. The pothos up poles are growing well but too soon to get much larger leaves. Looking forward to progress. Thanks for sharing this. Going to get some Jacks.

    Hi there. I've been really enjoying your videos. I like how you are able to maximize the potential and impact of the relatively common plants....and make them even more stunning. They are beautiful.
    I have some questions regarding the effect of staking. Do the pothos and similar climbing plants need to attach their aerial roots to the stake as they climb to encourage the huge leaves? Or is it just a matter of going vertical? Or some combination? Also, do you mist the moss poles? Thanks..

    I am so glad I came across your tutorial. I have this plant and I transplanted it and it didn't seem to be doing so well. It was in a small pot and the roots were coming out. The pot it's in now is large and roomy but I notice you didn't disturb the roots. My mistake. The leaves are large thought. And the stems are long.. I try not to water it too much. I just want it to be full but I'm afraid to cut it. Lol

    Your plant is gorgeous and I enjoyed your video, but....there is always a but, right? My high school Ag./Horticulture teacher taught us to cut that bottom layer of roots that were spiraling around and around. He used a machete, but I use a kitchen knife. He would then score the sides with his knife. I typically give those a more gentle roughing up with my fingers. You just want to loosen them up a bit to encourage them to grow out into the new soil. Cutting those bottom roots off prevents them from continuing to spiral around themselves and grow out into the fresh soil. You don't need to be so very gentle with Pothos...the stress pushes them to put out new roots. You are a beautiful and engaging young woman. Count me in as a new subscriber and happy growing!

    • @plantluxxe
      @plantluxxe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, that's a different way of doing things, thank you for sharing!!!! There are divided opinions among expert botinists on this, though. Check it out online?
      My reaction is....
      Eeek...I got chills! Don't hack the roots of tropical plants! The roots will find their way on their own.... Don't use a machete! Omg! Please don't do that! Don't disturb the roots... it's a no-no for many tropical plants, ask any botanist.... Thank you for sharing this with me and for subbing.... please stick around and let me know how your planty adventures are going. Thank you so much!🌱😍🌿💚🌱

    • @ameliagraham92
      @ameliagraham92 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@plantluxxe Yes there are tropical plants that are more delicate & temperamental that you would not want to do this with. However, with many species and particularly "Devils Ivy" that are so vigorous, causing a little stress in the right way helps encourage good root growth. Its a good thing! Happy Summer Equinox and have a great day!

    • @ciaragabs9056
      @ciaragabs9056 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do that however it will slow the growth of the foliage

    • @plantluxxe
      @plantluxxe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Amanda from Planterina talks about this topic as well. Check out her latest repotting video where she talks about not disrupting the roots. I agree with her about leaving the roots alone and letting them do their thing. All in all, it's actually better for the plant! Root harm is always a set back for plants because they put their energy into root repair.... again, you can do whatever method you prefer! Thanks again for watching!
