Wear whatever you like. Confidence is everything. Who cares about what anyone else says! Edit: I look like a homeless person on my days off most of the time. Sometimes I just need to get out of the house early and get things done. I don't have hours to get ready. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the ritual of putting on makeup and putting an outfit together, but sometimes I just have other priorities. It's ok. We're all human.
Rules are for boring people. Wear what you want. If it makes you feel good, then why not? I stopped giving a shit years ago and I’ve never been happier with myself. You are awesome and lovely!! Keep it up

After age 50'ish, unless someone is truly obese/unhealthy, weight loss is not our friend. I have seen proof of this in my real life with over-50 friends who lost 20-25 lbs and their skin was practically sliding off of their face: they looked so much older. :\
I recall years ago, the model Inman (David Bowie's beautiful widow), said that when she turned 50, she intentionally gained 5lbs and did the same when she turned 60, to help keep her face plumped and her body less crepey. I took her advice when I turned 50 and 60. (I'm 65, and God willing, I'll do it again when I'm 70.) :)
Besides, life is short-- stop and smell the bread/pasta, then eat some.☺
I am 88 but would like to looose 5 lbs. or so…..believe me, It is not easy at this age…..I am pretty active …..

I've never seen you on your videos frumpy. You always look eloquent and classy! When I think of frumpy I think of adult women dressing like they just came out of their living room wearing their worst clothes. BTW, I was at a big box store the other day and a woman who had to be 70 looked smashing! Her hair all up, make up perfectly done, a cute to the knee plaid red skirt, a blouse and a black leather jacket, and shoes that matched her outfit! She was physically not too thin or not overweight. I would LOVE to dress like that! Patti, you always know what to pull together to wear and you do your makeup just right! That's why I watch your channel. You help me! I’m frumpy and proud. I’m 46, have had three children, and have sensory issues with clothing. I wear the same brand of black leggings every day with a tee shirt or a hoodie. I don’t work outside of the home and just want to be comfortable during perimenopause. 😂

I honestly think the fashion today is a mish mash of styles. i've seen people young and older wearing outfits that look 70's, 80's 90's, etc. styles and sometimes mixed with other styles and colors that I have thought would go together but look good. Don't listen to the people who tell you that you can't wear this with that. Wear what you want. To each their own. AND you are NOT frumpy. You look so beautiful today. You are NOT frumpy! You are classy a good role model for all of us in this age group. Sometimes when home I dress what I call “comfortable”. Too many people want to dictate what we wear. I believe we should dress in what makes us look good and not what others say.

I’m 65. I had a very serious life threatening illness last year that left me basically incapacitated from March through September. I’ve always been someone who got up, showered, put on makeup and dressed (what I always thought as cute and classic and preppy). I became someone who lived in my pjs most days and didn’t even have the energy to shower or eat. I lost a much needed 60 pounds. When I started to feel like myself in October, my clothes were falling off me. Just let me say, I don’t worry about what anyone thinks except me. I liked to look put together but on the days I just wear leggings and a tee shirt or a tunic I’m ok with that. Don’t want to do my hair? I wear a hat or visor or a HEADBAND. Don’t want to wear make up? I put on sunglasses. I ran across your videos and you remind me of my friend Dixie who came to stay with me a few times while my husband had to travel for business. I watch your videos with a cup of coffee in the morning and love your makeup ideas and validating to me all my years of great finds at Walmart! I think it’s funny when people say “What great leggings or capris or top-where did you get them?” And I reply “Walmart” and the look and disbelief or side eyes I get is comical. I’m going on a trip in a few days and I bought a few of the tops you recommended (with the eyelet), white capris (with elastic waist, one of the dresses and I’m packing and taking those along with me. A girlfriend had recommended ELF products but when I saw your video I went and purchased a few items. Love the camo powder and liquid foundation and their blushes are great and so are the glossy lipsticks. I smiled about your moving dilemmas as I’ve done that a few times in the past 4 years-house to condo and apartment in another city (we are dividing our time between Colorado and Florida as my husband is still working) and then building a home and selling the condo. Had to pack and unbox myself but I’ve gotten rid of so much clutter and stuff we don’t use anymore (and my sons didn’t want anything 🙄). So thanks Patti. You lift my spirits.
My take on leaving the house is to look as good as possible. I only go shopping 🛍️ n a few days of the week so I can look decent for these few days. I do a full makeup, hair, cute outfit, stylish shoes, etc. I am finally convinced I am worth the time and trouble to look good. When working at home or in the garden, I look decent and cute.
But looking “good” is subjective. I never wear makeup and wear leggings and hoodies every day…and I can still love myself, feel I am worthy, and look good doing so. To each his/her/their own!

You definitely are not frumpy Patti !! I think of you as Florida glamour. It really think it's up to each and everyone of us to wear whatever we like. 💖. I know those shoes, I looked at buying them but haven't, yet. I bought two of the headbands because of you, I like them but find they slip on my head. I follow MiddleAgedMinx, she's 65 lives in London, works at ABC radio, is an actress, she wears high end fashion, I love her style, but different given she lives in a city. Those shoes are recommended for people with bunions, which is why I've looked at them

Just starting. Last year for the New Year I told myself enough with the sweats and the work out clothes. It became to easy to just throw them on. All year I got dressed in a beautiful outfit, jeans ( skinny yes!) or dresses or pants, and I can not believe how much better I feel. As we age we have to take the time to be our best. We need to care for ourselves more and we need to be our very best as we age. At almost 57 I feel so great!

you may have worn one casual Friday outfit but you are NOT frumpy! Your make-up, hair and 99% of your clothes are very classy. You are beautiful, have a great smile and a lovely personality. I choose blonde hair color because my grey ages me ten years. I only wear comfortable shoes. I love the square head bands....they are so comfortable. Congratulations on your weight loss...the bright pink looks fabulous on you. PS. I splurged and got the Chanel foundation (Les Beiges $60)....I love it. You always look good. Most of the podcasts you'll see are made for younger women. I'm 80 and our way of dressing is not always the same. Our bodies are shaped different. What we look good in is not the same as a 30, 40, or 50 year old. We need to have more podcasts, showing what is appropriate for our time of life. Keep up the good work!

That's all I ever wear. lol. I'll still wear them because I think they're cute and they keep my arms warm.
I always lay my clothes out the night before after watching a weather report . That way I can choose shoes and accessories. Once I’m dressed I check myself in a full length mirror to see that it all works. You are too beautiful to be a real frump.

I don't believe ANYONE should worry about their style of dressing. I believe a woman should dress however she likes, whatever style she likes, whatever she's comfortable in. Life is too short to worry about what others think. The only thing I believe is necessary is to be a clean person wearing clean clothes. I don't believe you looked frumpy at all, you looked like you were in comfortable clothes. Personally, if someone doesn't like the way I look, they can just go away or look the other way. I simply don't care what others think. It's my life and I'll dress how I like.

Patti I think you are getting over sensitive and overthinking about small petty things in life. Be grateful and thank God first thing in the morning that you can wake up, put your legs on the floor and stand up by Yourself without assistance and for giving you another day. This is my daily morning ritual ever since I became a senior. I just watched alot of videos on Facebook watch (reels and stories) where the family members are uploading videos of their mum or dad who is suffering from dementia and Alzheimers and it brings tears to my eyes thinking will I go through this and I over worry. Patti you are beautiful and most importantly you are healthy be thankful.

But I am, too. I’ve watched those videos. I do take tips from them. I’ve updated some things. Because I’ve lost some weight this year, so I’m trying to “look better”. On thing is I have begun to buy medium sizes instead of large or x-large (so I can have enough room to alter them to fit better). So I’m anxious after a few washes to see if they aren’t too tight. So I’m with you.
But I’ve decided I will wear what I’m confident in, what I’m pleased to wear, what I have and not go buy a whole new wardrobe……it’s about YOUR OWN PERSONAL STYLE, not someone else’s say so. You know how people will say she talking about someone, they say “well, that’s Susie.” That’s what we remember about that person. (Did I say that right?). 💕
Patti, first of all there are NO rules about what to wear. You should wear whatever makes you feel good about yourself. All of us have bad days, we can’t be perfect everyday.. you are absolutely not frumpy …!,❤️. When I go by those mirrors in stores I never look in them, they are not our friends..
