Riiiight, I never understood why they kept leaving them alone. Like …Lizzie was NOT capable!!! Especially didn’t need to be watching Judith. Seeing how she would “play” with the walkers. Hell nah. I’m glad what happens next happened. Had to be done.
I don't think the girl was actually a psychopath. I just think she was so lost in her delusions that she thought they were real. It's a ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE, THE LITERAL END OF THE WORLD, that's WAY to much on a child's brain. Someone else in the comment said that she was just so focused on everything just being "okay" again, and I think they are right. You'll do ANYTHING for things to go back to normal if that was happening in the world. I guess she thought if she could prove that zombies still had the "human" in them then the apocalypse could be put to a end and everything would go back to being "right". Psychopaths are more likely to hurt people without a motive for doing so, not saying they can't have one but psychopaths usually just do as they feel.
Mika's death was so sad. I've always thought they should have had Lizzie get away somehow and reappear years later. She would have been a great villain. She was crazier at 12 than Alpha was at 45.
Carol handled this so damn well. As a mother who’s already lost a child, stumbling upon the corpse of a girl she’d grown to love absolutely crushed her. But she still kept her composure, dealing with Lilly calmly and carefully in order to protect Tyrese and Judith.
@@Bl913Tbf nobody expects something like that to happen. Hurting animals is one of the first signs people look for when identifying a psychopath, usually someone who then goes on to be a serial killer. Lizzie is one of the creepiest characters on TWD, way creepier than the walkers themselves. The sad thing is, Mika knew exactly what she was. Both actresses were great. Props to them.
That whole hurting animals thing is one of those lines that cop shows have repeated for decades, but it's kind of ridiculous if you think about it. That information is almost always cataloged after someone commits a murder/violent crime. There's also no group to compare it against. Unless you ask everyone who claims not to be a murderer. The other problem is, that saying is basically a pop culture meme. Everyone has heard about it, which means, people are much less likely to answer truthfully if they were asked. If you asked 20 cops in a police station if they hurt animals, I bet none of them would say they did, because they know they could be unfairly judged for it. I'm sure there is some truth to it, but there is no way I would label a child as a psychopath/future murderer if I saw them hurt an animal. Now, if they were killing mammals and enjoying the process of torturing them, I'd say that's a red flag. But I don't think killing mice and rats would be on the same level as hanging a dog or microwaving a cat. Just my 2 cents anyway.

Not gonna lie, my mouth dropped open when I saw this. It was heartbreaking, for both Carol and the kid. She really thought she did something good by killing the little girl.
Thats whats disturbing aside from the fact that she killed her sister... Is that she thought the walkers were just simply misunderstood as though they were simply different and not people infected with a virus that either kills and uses the human body as a host or lets them live and control there body...
Props to Carol for remaining so calm. She was able to get Lizzie to lower the gun and not kill Judith without spooking her, though I’m sure she felt like screaming and crying :(
It made even more twisted and dramatic that it is with Carole and Tyreese. Carole that has lost her own daughter and was looking after these two, and Tyreese who still didn't want to accept the world become this bad and that everyone had to have blood in their hands. This is what changed Carol forever. This is why she found it harder & harder to kill anyone. This is why she keeps leaving to be on her own. Daryl doesn't get it cause he doesn't know what Carol had to do to keep everyone safe from Lizzie. This truly has haunted Carol up until Henry. So many Carol haters blaming her for Connie & losing Hilltop. No one would have been able to do what needed to be done like Carol did. Not Rick, Daryl, Connie ect....no one!!
Then straw that broke her back was when she and Maggie were the first of Rick's group to meet the cunning wrath of the Saviors first hand when they were kidnapped by two of Negan's cohorts ... After personally connecting (and killing) those two women without any help other than Maggie, she just had had enough... The Carol that was with Shane's group would had been terrifyied to no end of Ezekiel and his tigress, but the new Carol didn't had none of it and exposed Ezekiel in an instant
Hilltop was burned down by Alpha & her whisperers, with the help of Negan. He was released from prison by Carol cause she knew she needed a psyhco to kill a psycho. Negan was basically working undercover to get close enough to that crazy b**ch Alpha and kill her. Which he did do but because he was with the whisperers when they attacked Hilltop the surviving Hilltop residents are pissed at Carol for releasing him. Even though he actually helped. Connie is a newcomer who is deaf and has become someone Daryl cares about. Some fans have been shipping a Connie & Daryl thing...not me. ( Carol & Daryl all the way!!) Connie is believed dead after getting trapped in a huge cave with the biggest herd of walkers ever. Carol was going after Alpha, who killed her adopted son Henry, and got herself Daryl, Connie & a few others stuck in Alpha's cave trap. They found a way out but Carol, using some old dynamite found in cave, tried to blow up the cave destroying or at least trapping the herd. Unfortunatly Connie & a friend got trapped in as well. Daryl has been mad at Carol ever since because she couldn't give up on her need for vengence even though he had been trying to help her do so.
What makes this scene so sad, well at least for me, is all Carol wanted was to be a mother. And Carol was a good mother. Definitely a better mom than Lori. And every time it seems that Carol may have another chance after the death of Sophia it ends up in the similar heartbreaking tragedy. In my opinion, I think that's one of the main factors why Carol and Daryl were close and found comfort in one another.
Dying by a knife is not a often a quick death. It can be a slow brutal death by bleeding out. Hence why victims are often stabbed multiple times. She definitely knew what hit her...
The Walking Dead has been screwed over in that area since the beginning. The fact that Andrew Lincoln and Melissa Mcbride haven't been recognized kills the credibility of the Emmys.
The girl who plays Lizzie is amazing. She's so bright and eager about her obsession with the dead and about the terrible thing she's done. Terrific performance. TWD has often been an absolute mess of a show, but this episode was quite something.
The show may be a mess but a mess is what will happen during a zombie, walker, apocalypse. No order just bands of people roaming around trying to survive.
Everyone is saying she’s a psychopath. She’s not a psychopath. She has childhood schizophrenia. She thought the walkers were talking to her when they weren’t.
Perfect character building for Carol, when she uses her inner psychopath to not only lie to Lizzie, but also to empathize with her and instantly understand her twisted mind. When Lizzie talks about turning Judith, Carol instinctively replies "but she can't even walk" (so how can she turn into a walker?). Lizzie sees the logic and decides to wait a few months till the baby can walk... Who else would have replied that in a split second ? Anyone else would have said "but she's just an innocent baby".
Psychopaths are unable to empathise, so a psychopath would struggle to understand Lizzie’s logic unless they shared the same opinion. Perhaps a dark empath?
@@fabplays6559 Yea, but it was more trying to imply that Carol has a psychopathic side inside her, probably grown during her many years of ordeal at the hands of an abusive husband, as a form of defense. In the comics the storyline of Lizzie and Mika belonged to two 5 year old twin boys. Ben and Billy. They had been with the group since the camp outside of Atlanta over the course both their parents died and they were taken in by Dale and Andrea who were a couple. Overtime Ben started developing traits of a psychopath which started as small as teasing and roughhousing with kids in a negative way, then Billy one-time caught him poking the carcass of a dead rabbit and it's implied that he tortured the rabbit to death. Then when both of the twins went out in the woods to pee Andrea found that Ben had brutally slaughtered Billy thinking that no matter what happens people always come back. The whole group locks him in one of the storage trailers for a truck and contemplate killing him to protect themselves but don't take any immediate action. Carl, who is 7, breaks into the trailer and kills Ben when everyone is sleeping and makes it back to his tent.
Seriously? Thinking about it makes the showrunner's decision to remove Carl from the cast of The Walking Dead seem even more idiotic.@@0_____CJ-CJ______0

I think the darkest part was how she was just a little girl who was taking care of her sister, but she seen way more than she could handle and just snapped. But at the same time you could see her slow decent into madness when you actually look back knowing the outcome
What gets me are the rather happy, peaceful scenes before this. Tyrese and Carol are just relaxing and enjoying being a sort of normal family with the girls, things seem fine. And then it all goes to hell.
Pretty sure they would've needed to arrive way earlier cause I can't imagine her managing to kill Mika within 5 minutes especially as a child doesn't have this much strength, considering that Mika most likely fought back so there might have been a struggle until lil Mika succumbed to her injury and passed slowly :'/ probably a stomach wound and that alone takes about 20 minutes depending on how bad the wound is.

From my perspective Lizzie was a messed up girl before the Walkers came around, remember, both her dad and Mika had a system to help calm Lizzie down from having an episode. Lizzie, not the actress, was totally batshit crazy and was a real threat to the survivors she was with.
I love how Carol never explained this to Rick because even though she was alot more in the right to kill this girl, Carol definitely felt like she needed to be punished so she said nothing to justify her actions. I love Carol deeply
Well, after this she confessed to Tyrese that she killed and burned Karen so she was ready to face his wrath. Fortunately for her he's a forgiving teddy bear who saves babies so she got to live.
One thing I like about this is that in a zombie world, kids would act weird, because kids can be really creepy sometimes. During war there are reports they say disturbing things beyond belief, imagine what would it sound like in a zombie apocalypse.
It’s hard enough for kids to process death let alone what she’s seen. Her brain just saw things differently. She was permanently snapped and had no real clue what death was
I haven’t clicked or searched for a TWD for months and this scene got recommended to me again outta nowhere, kinda like how seemingly outta nowhere Lizzie was secretly a demented killer.
Back when the series was still have a great story , complexity in characters , so many great characters still alive , this scene is unpredictable and heartbreaking
What I love about this is it tells how a child would be going through this traumatic stuff. They always paint it as the children being cool and fine but this said “Hey, a child going through this is likely to have a snap at some point.”
Tyrese is still the only character death I cried over in this series! This season was so good, back when the walkers were the problem and not politics or other survivors.
But it's honestly the most realistic. As corny as it is, the real monsters are humans. I'd rather deal with walkers than be forced to be someone's sex slave
Actually now that i read 2 replies its possible due to the whole outbreak she was in denial that the walkers were dead people walking From what i remember she simply just thought of walkers as misunderstood humans and not hosts for a virus So basically she went into deep denial due to the amount of PTSD and anxienty of everything going on overwhelming her
To me this was the best show of the series. The writing, directing, the surprise of Carol’s return, how happy they seemed you just knew something had to give. When this show ended I felt as if I had been hit in the gut. It’s truly the best acting in WD by Melissa who should’ve received an Emmy for this, and by Brighton and the rest. Mika had so much potential too :( I could see her surviving she actually understood apart from Lizzie and really tried to want to survive. She didn’t run from the walkers and tyreese left she tried to protect Lizzie and the baby.
All 5 of these actors deserve immense credit and accolades for pulling off such a ridiculously brutal and heartbreaking scene so successfully. God I hope I never have to deal with such brutality in my life

This was her 2nd chance at being a mom after Sophia and its all being destroyed in that scene but she can't show it. Even the shoe laces line trying to make it sweet because she knows the girl doesn't comprehend wat she's done.
Still remember when Lizzie told to them that she can hear the Walkers whisper ? She is damn right ! And that's really the first Introduction for the Whisperers, they are already around since the earlier seasons.

I used to hurt animal when I was a kid but I was a kid back then 😢
That whole hurting animals thing is one of those lines that cop shows have repeated for decades, but it's kind of ridiculous if you think about it.

Lmao no. Lizzie is just absolutely insane and thinks the walkers talk to her. If it was the whisperers they would have killed everyone there except lizzie and probably would have killed terminus too.
Deffo not. She was most likely experiencing psychosis (NOT to be confused with psychopathy which apparently majority of the comments doesn't understand the concept of), like she clearly was detached from reality and would imagine things.
One of the best episodes of the whole series. I stopped watching ages ago but I can’t ever forget this one....
The acting is so good here. Lizzie has the look of a kid who got caught eating cookie dough or something. Not MURDERING A KID. Its so fucking disturbing, but performed so well.
That part at 1:14 that shows her bloody hand w the knife and baby gives me the damn heebie-jeebies 😱

If this were a Telltale Games scene:
Choose Dialogue:
1. [Threaten Lizzie]
2. We can Wait.
3. You are insane.
4. Give me the gun.
5. [Stay Silent]
I think we all know which one we'd choose...
@@liamphibia The 3rd one?
@@kgpadji2890 maybe i choices to we can wait?

Pause right after she says "don't worry" I wanna see what other people would've done in this scenario because I genuinely curious.
This was suppose to be Carl shooting billy
Negans Mayo Sandwiches no it wasn’t “supposed” to be that at all lol. The show’s version was better.
This is so much better on so many levels.
@@Warchiefaa Actually There both pretty good
@@theggamer2824 I agree, both plots were good
Wait, who's billy. I totally don't remember him
This episode was heartbreaking... This was incredible storytelling.
"but Judith can change too
I was just about to..."
Am I the only one who thinks that if alpha and lizzie met, they would be like twins. Like wat would've the turnout been like?
I bet lizzie is like the daughter alpha always wanted I could also see lizzie and Lydia not getting along
