Thanks for bringing this feature up. Some people like the new equalizer, other people feel this update messed with the audio output. I was on the latter group, My S23+ has always had amazing quality audio/bass/reverb with Dolby Auto turned on with Normal setting. Balanced now just makes my S23 sound tinny and cheap sounding, however the new Dynamic setting sorta fixes the problem, it mimics the pre-6.1.1 Normal setting I loved. Not perfectly but we'll enough. The rest just don't sound good to my ears though I've read other people enjoying the other settings.
If they don't, i most certainly will sell this device and move on. I didn't pay over 1000 for a phone, only for the audio quality to be worse than my old note 10.
@@knowledgeablelandon9960 I feel ya, I sent back the S24+ I had for a week when if first launched because it sounded like what Balanced does now. Audio quality was just too important to me compared to all the upgrades and pre order goodies.
You are no longer able to alter lower frequencies for the phone speaker preset. It used to be possible before. I did notice a difference after the update. Any sound lacked bass completely, which the speakers on my S23 Ultra can reproduce to a decent enough level. I would know because i didnrunna custom tune for my speakers and tell you what, there can be bass if you tune it right. Though not much if an issue since im using an app called Wavelet.
Thanks for the heads up. My S23 Ultra got the update over a week ago. The first thing I notice is that the first two frequencies of the equaliser(UK) are disabled, unless connected to Bluetooth Buds. I tested my Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and Buds Live, and the all frequency adjustments are available. If using the phone speakers, the two lowest frequencies are disabled since Samsung decided that there would be no affect. Apart from Custom and Balanced/ Normal, the old and new presets are different! I did a comparison with my Samsung S20FE which has the previous equaliser of S23 Ultra before the update.
I'm so dissapointed at this update I use to put on the jazz profile and dolby atmos to enhance the volume and bass in speakers, now sounds really low and flat :/
@@garyhutsell1355 from what I’ve gathered they might be unnoticeable enough that the phone speakers aren’t affected. You can however tune them when your earbuds/headphones are on, I noticed this when I was using my earbuds at the gym.
Samsung must have decided the low frequencies they control are below the range of the phone speakers and won't have any affect. Once paired to Bluetooth buds, the 63Hz and 125Hz equaliser bands are available. I tested my Galaxy Buds Pro 2 and Live, and all the equaliser controls work. Once disconnected, the two bass frequencies are disabled.
They DID have an affect. Before the update, moving those sliders DID make a good difference. Now, the audio quality is absolutely ruined bc of this. NOT PLACEBO AFFECT.
How can I make it work without connecting to buds as my speakers handled the frequency very well then it just started to sound like I'm listening to a recording with not bass nothing how can I get that low frequency bassy sound back without modifying my phone so I Can change settings
I ordered an A15 5G from HSN for $100. It runs on the TracFone/Verizon network and comes with the phone, a year unlimited airtime card, a case, and a promo code for three months of Pandora Premium. It'll be here sometime next week so I'm going back through the Jeff Springer/SammyGuru archive checking out various videos of his that I didn't watch because they didn't apply to me at the time. Now they do and I'm trying to learn all I can learn about One UI 6 before my phone gets here. I'll be honest; I missed watching Jeff's tutorials and following along at home. This phone is supposed to get OS updates through Android 18, so, I'll have an excuse to watch Jeff's enthusiast coverage for years to come.
Is there a way in the settings or third party app that can make my S24U's volume louder? It's probably my age, but I when I use my buds or watch a video it doesn't seem loud enough for me.
Yes, this has nothing to do with this video, but I still cannot get ambient wallpaper to work at all, not even the preview that should show rain and snow.
My S24 ultra still running 6.1 its my only samsung lastest model that hasn't had it! My tab 9 ultra got it last month and my older fold 5 and S23 ultra but s24 ultra lagging behind!,
and it doesn't bother you that they took away the ability to adjust the low frequencies in the equalizer? it doesn't bother you? this is the most crap update I've ever seen
It does me, god dammit. Well, half true... i didn't know it was a thing till you said it so it's half fake anger. I actually need to cut at ~60hz but NOT at ~30hz... tyvm "equalizer" developers. Twats the lot of you.
I like the old bass boost like s5, s7, s8 and s9 cuz u feel the bass and tube amplifier...and now new update samsung just screwed it up so shitty..i just don't feel bass anymore
I'm just trying to find out how to turn off audio ducking Back in the day of rooted Android phones and ice cream sandwich OS You could turn off audio ducking so when you got notifications while you were listening to music over Bluetooth it would not duck the audio and play the notification You could choose to have it just play the notification with the audio or don't play any notifications while audio is playing It's the most obnoxious part about an Android phone You can't listen to a single song unless you put your whole phone in silent mode without the best part being interrupted by a email or text or Facebook notification
It will break JBL Partyboxes. Do not use custom EQs or bass boosted songs, if you own JBL Partybox Encore, JBL Partybox 110, JBL Partybox 120, JBL Partybox 310, JBL Partybox 320, JBL Partybox 710 or JBL Partybox Ultimate. Use their own EQ and normal music is enough. These party speakers have good bass already, but they use woofers, not subwoofers. DO NOT break your speaker. I did. I will never use custom EQs or bass boosted music again. I like JBL Partyboxes, because their lights and massive deep bass!!!!! I like deep bass and lights at the same time.

Thanks.Very useful and informative. I hadn't realised these changes with 6.1.1 had occurred.
Glad it was useful!
Why are the first 2 lines in the equaliser greyed out when using the phone but they come to life when using the earbuds ?
Might be something to do with the speakers cannot reproduce those frequencies, and adjustment may not make any difference.
I think it's due to the frequencies. As said above. Which Buds are you using?
@jspring86 I'm using the galaxy earbud 3 Pro
@konradc12 yes they can.
Because TYRANTS
Where is dolby atmos for gaming ??
The problem is when you change the settings from flat the volume gets lower.
Today came september patch and battery is better now here.. thanx Jeff 👌 i try those sound settings last weekend 😊
Great content. Question. What happened to the 360 surround sound.🤔
Another great video of informational content. Keep up the great work Jeff 👍🏻
