I got a similar one from aliexpress, 8 18650 cells, two inputs and two outputs, and it has springs inside it for the cells so you don't even have to solder them in. I as well used Laptop Batteries and got over 12.000mAh... just had luck I guess :)
It is a fun project but, most of today's gadgets run beyond one amp of charge and this cheap diy cases hardly go beyond one amp!
It would have been better to leave the metal that was spot welded to the battery and cut between them and solder to that. Thanks for sharing
