Unless it’s Japan, I’ve just never seen an Asian game that isn’t hollow and shallow. Their foundation is monetization, a game just happens to be constructed around it.
Thank you. BDO gets a lot of praise but unless you're a masochist, I don't see why people enjoy endless boring rng grinds that promotes using money. Not to mention the lack of content and depth most of their games have.
Torn between nostalgia and my burning hatred of Kakao games. Played ArcheAge for years. I liked the open world housing. It added an interesting dynamic to the game. Instanced housing is too generic. I'm assuming they think people are going to whine about how hard land was to get. It really wasn't that hard to get. I loved my housing. I liked having island homes where Pvp was a constant threat, but had added benefits for pirating and such. It was also a status symbol to have several side-by-side plots. The land added a great dynamic to the economy of the game, which was the best of any game I have ever played. You could grow a wide range of crops, trees, raise animals, honey, coral, etc. The combat was great. I'm skeptical that it won't be p2w. I've heard that before. I'd need to know more about how the game is designed to confirm. All in all it was a great game that was poorly managed. Kakao fucked me royally, stealing legitimately gained credits from my account with no explanation or compensation, only a big fuck you that I would never get them back. I'm not really sure nostalgia is going to be enough to get me to pay a company that fucked me so royally. They didn't steal a small amount. They stole hundreds of dollars worth of stuff that other players were allowed to keep simply because they cashed it in earlier than I did, which created a huge imbalance in the game. Maybe if they give me a free copy as a sorry, which still wouldn't amount to what they took, I might consider it. I don't forget things like that. Just know they will royally fuck you if they think it's in their best interest. Worthless company, but honestly it wasn't a terrible game at the core. Remove the horrible management and p2w it could have been great. Trion ficked up a lot too, but at least they compensated you for their mistakes. Kakao fucks up, they screw you over with no intent to make it right. Be careful with Kakao. If you aren't diehard about the label, try a more reputable gaming company.
I want to like this BUT I know when they said Community based econ I know its gonna be a bunch of mega guild alliances controlling all nodes and its gonna be Pay to Win
One thing that does make the title a bit more promising is how the major figure behind this project is Jake Song.. LOL. More promising in what way? He did also produce Archeage.. no? Instanced housing, action combat.. sounds like Black desert online to me.
I got distracted by new world around the time they launched and that took a lot of my time, then other games came out and I have been working on them. I plan to return to throne and liberty but not sure if just on website rather than TH-cam, q1 is so packed with games
Please become informed: we were allowed to make and publish guides. In fact, everyone that has review access was also allowed to make guides and will be publishing tomorrow. GGG has no problem with us, apologized to us, and we’re still playing and they just confirmed with us there’s no problem with wiki for tomorrow, the only issue was their accidental mistake of giving us Nov 26th embargo. TLDR: you look bad when you talk about things you don’t know about
@@Fextralife the embargo was not to make guides (at all) yet and the publishing of videos, but the second point was excused, at least according to news surround you. You have been misled, the embargo allowed guides. For us, and for everyone! They didn’t allow guides for act 3, which we never published. But it specifically and clearly says act 1 and act 2 are ok (we had a quest list for those two acts as part of an incomplete walkthrough, which is again allowed under the terms we received) There are no “news” about this because the actual news outlets have the same embargo (but theirs said Dec 6th not Nov 26th). So they know that we are right, and they will also publish guides tomorrow at the same time we republish the ones we privated for a few days. The information you are getting is from drama channels who are both jealous they didn’t get access, and need to make drama content to stay alive, it’s how they make money, so they attacked this knowing we wouldn’t fuck over GGG by releasing their emails. Those channels are who really hurt games and developers, as everything they do is to create outrage. Don’t let people like that manipulate you, they are very good at sending others to distribute their lies, which get proven wrong as is the fact that if I had broken embargo I would have lost access to the game, the dev would not have said it wasn’t my fault, nobody would be publishing guides on 6th at launch and I wouldn’t be allowed to publish guides on 6th at launch either. The other stuff about bad faith to competitors and the myriad of rumors are also lies and deception from the same kind of people with an agenda. You are free to unsubscribe and never visit Fextra, but if you want to be informed you should not believe things like this without due research and that includes understanding Reddit is extremely misinformed and manipulated, as are TH-cam drama channeks
Instanced housing is an error, player made towns in archeage and guild grouped houses were amazing, I never even lived on the best zones of the map but still even second grade places were good, nothing better than having you own house in world a place where you spend most of your time and you see your friends or guildmates around the town doing shit. I left behind MMOs after a few years of GW2 but this seems too intriguing to not at least put on the track list. I'm specifically interested in the more action style combat as MMO "stand and spank" combat is very dull to me and I absolutely hate clockwork bosses - that is instead of being forced to react into varied enemy attacks and strategies you are stuck to repeating the same pattern over and over and over like a clockwork. I hate it! I'm hoping the game offers enemies with a decent AI that force you to shift tactics each time you encounter them... or at least offer some variety in how the battle goes while still offering MMO features like cooperative PvE play (I don't much care for PvP) and shared community stuff (housing, guild, crafting etc)... I wonder if they keep the skillset based "classes" from AA or if they are planning to go with actual classes. I hope the former...
Having played the earlier Arche Ages... I'd stay away from this for at least half a year before deciding to play this. Let the whales get their hands on it first so they can test it and make reviews and videos.
MMO fans are the most gullible fans ever. Every year a trailer for something gets released promising everything, only for the game to come out and not deliver on anything. Especially when it comes to Archeage. This game turned me off of the entire genre. I played the Alpha and thought it was the best game on the planet, but then the bs pay to win and the no life required to stay viable got so stupid. People actually expect this game to not do the same thing???!!!
Firstly, Archeage 1 was great, even after release. it wasn't for some time after release that p2w was introduced. This was when a *lot* of mmos were going p2w, and it caused the game to fail and resulted in end of service. Archeage 1 had far more focus on PvP, so p2w was going to be far more egregious and disappointing. Archeage Chronicles clearly seems focused more on PvE, thus, the likelihood of p2w (especially for a game in 2026) seems extremely unlikely.
If this game’s combat is anything like BDO, yeah…BDO will def be struggling than it already is (kinda). I played Archeage back in the day and damn if was hella fun, but hard p2w.

"the company behind it which hasnt exactly had the best history with mmos". boo you to start the video like that. jakesong games pioneered large scale pvp mechanics that became the hallmark of mmorpgs
It's pathetic how bad the gaming industry has been that people have to release hype videos for games not even going to be released until two years from now and that's if those companies don't push them back. Gaming has been a joke and the golden era was really during first gen releases. Today there's no originality and everything is created half made lol.
Ah, sweet nostalgia when you were young and still liked video games, people are really delusional when it comes to their own past, sure you enjoyed video games more 20 years ago but that has nothing to do with the quality of game it's just that the nature of humanity make it so doing to much of anything will make it feel more and more boring. About originality obviously first gen releases were more original since nothing was made yet so everything was new there is only so many ideas you can get and the way AAA games work now is that they are to expensive to make so they can not afford to take to much risk, however the inde industry make a ton of games and a lot of them are extremely original. Interestingly the same people that complain about originality in video games seem to play nothing but AAA ...
@ no they're actually not. People like yourself are delusional considering you like half made products especially ones that have become micro transactions and add ptw systems. It goes for more than just gaming so don't you worry but you'll understand as you get older the worse things become including newly built homes and cars that have more problems than ever and made out of plastic lol.
Be sure to leave a like if you liked the video and Subscribe if you enjoyed our videos!
Looks good. The p2w will destroy it again lol
I wonder if they're bringing back the player court system they had for criminal players in the first, those were fun as hell!
Remember that hahahaha
2026 😅 Not even 2025 yet, I'll get hype this time next year 👍🏻

well the 1st was good till it was pay to win, so as long as they copy the 1st one without pay to win aspect then this could be good.
It *looks* like it could be similar to BDO combat wise, but better. I have high hopes for this one, so hopefully, it won't flop
the game lost me when they said instanced housing, that was one of the core things that made the first game feel alive and vibrant.
Yep it just means aa2 will be exactly like BDO and there will be more single play than multiplay. Dead of mmorpg.
That type of housing will always fail without some type of rails in place.. I'd never want to go plot hunting ever again lmao
