Its been a few years but I used my Line 6 UX2 with a metal pack addon I bought for it. I tweaked one of those tones to match that Death Metal sound. I was playing a lot of Cannibal Corpse at the time, the strings were floppy as fuck, but the UX2 helped clear a lot of that up. This was recorded on PC too.

From introduction to friendship in a blink of an eye. Some 3 weeks later: "have you ever heard this?", he asked. It was Carcass' Heartwork. I was more of a grunge boy, and this opening riff went like a bolt through my brains. "Why did I not hear this stuff before???". 21 years later... here am I!

The original is 2 and a half but I'm tuned down 3 steps, I do this to jam along to Cannibal Corpse, I'm using Amazing Slow Downer to detune Carcass that extra half step.

Also too after I did this cover I seen in a back issue of Guitar World mag there is a tab for this song. I'd assume its pretty good though. March 2009 issue.

Thats cool. I use 12-60 strings and push the mids all the way and keep the bass at 2 o clock and the treble at 3 on an orange crush 120
From the internet, Bill Steers use 12-56 with a 22 "g" string so it is maybe the ernie balls not even slinky with custom "g" string: 12 16 22 32 44 56
