Seriously, if you don't need the money right away then there is no reason to sell items directly in the shops, especialy if you have other things to do, rather than wandering the town.
Also, if you sell crops directy in shops then they won't count towards your amount shipped number. Meaning it's impossible to get some of the achievements if you only sell them in the shop. I like to keep track of how many of each crop I've sold, so I prefer the bin (and it's also way more convenient)
The Spa would be more useful if it wasn't in the most annoying-to-get-to area of the game. Seriously, only the train is up in that screen and I am oftentimes in a hurry as it is. That, and how you slow down to a crawl when you're walking through the spa just seems like that was only done just to waste your time even further. I could see maybe using it early-game when you are out of stamina and it's like noon and you could still chop down some trees or something, sure. But later in game? Especially once you get your kitchen? Just eat some food instead.
Well one thing you could do is (if you are on PC) Get the basement mod. There is a version that comes with an upper bathroom so you can recharge your energy there. it also has a mirror that acts as the shrine of illusions.
Yeah but that requires API hooks. I don't really like using those if I can avoid it. I don't mind an .xnb swap, but I don't like messing around with third party .exes.
Dhalin this one is just a file edit. You can swap the original out for the modded and it will work with it or without SMAPI because it's basically re writing what the map looks like. Although I would save the original file. And if your still confused look up the basement mod on Nexus mods and there's a description of how to install it.
The train is pretty terrible. You waste so much time standing their when you could just run into the mine for the same amount of time and get a fair amount more of resources.
Yeah, but nobody "forget"s to look through the trash. That is a very common thing people do all the time, so it doesn't really fit with the theme of the video. But I do agree that the train is pretty useless
"take a few minutes to walk over to the spa" yeah witch equates to like 2 hours in game. i'm tired at 3? by the time i get there wait for my energy and come back to the farm its like 6pm already
@@Vesper- true, but my point was that even tho it takes awhile you still have a lot of time to work with But yes eating some food will also accomplish that
I prefer to drop all my sellables in the box for overnight, that way I can see exactly how much money I made in a particular day. I'm never so desperate I can't wait a day to have that cash. 😂
No mention of the travelling cart? It can save you a lot of time and money finishing out some of those harder community center bundles. I've almost completely finished bundles with nothing but travelling cart goods. This can be good when you're too poor to afford buildings and animals
The first one makes me laugh so hard because I had no idea what the shipping box was at first so I straight up went to shops and sold my stuff for my first 3 YEARS!
He forgot about putting flowers by those hives. In fall "Fairy Honey" is worth like 680 each. Way better than mead. in fact, I think mead is only effective with plain honey, as mead ignores the value of the honey.
@@sharifaa.8887 yeah! And the guy from the caves, I forgot his name... But is the one who's also in the store close to the mines. That dude is another MVP
I always thought the spa (and walk to it) wasn't worth it timewise compared to eating some spare crops. Only exception when going to fish in the mountain lake or mining since it is on the way.
Salmonberries, OH MY GOD Salmonberries are the best thing ever in year 1 for energy. I spend all 4 days collecting them in spring and make sure I have level 4 foraging before the 15th (double the berries!). Pretty much guaranteed to last you till blackberry season in the fall. There are also a few villagers who like salmonberries (Hi Linus, Robin, Demetrius, and Leah) and most of the ones who don't like the Salmonberry Jelly anyway. So yeah, I basically use spring onions till it's salmonberry season, then berries the rest of the way.
i literally have all my crops with sprinklers so i don;t need to worry about that, the only thing that takes time is animals. so yeah the spa is kind of pointless, other then t being window dressing. cheese and fish converted to food is much more useful.
i only give gifts on birthdays, and i normally don't start till winter first year. i am not in any hurry to get married as marriage in st is worthless.
You have to be on that same screen when the train is going through in order for it to drop goods. If you aren't in that area then nothing will fall. Once I got a nice pair of shoes.
Also- when you mine stone from the Quary you get more stone. If you mine from the mines you might get zero, one, or two pieces of stone from each rock you break; but at the Quary you always get 2 pieces for each rock!
Rather than running all the way up to the spa to get energy, go to your bed and when you get the message about going to sleep click on no and while you are still in the bed (not sleeping) your energy will recover.
@@joeyyhi anything i fish out of the ocean, get's turned into fried fish or other food, the only thing i sell to willy is crab pot stuff, as for seeds the odd time i will take a few crops in to pierres to get seeds, but normally i just have 10 seed makers going at once, and i never buy seeds again.
TIP FOR WILD SEEDS! you can actually get more with less Using a seed maker instead of crafting them! A horseradish will give you spring seeds, a Spice Berry will give you Summer seeds, A common mushroom will give you fall seeds and Winter roots will give you Winter seeds, its really useful if you can't find that one item you need to make the pack.
#6. The secret woods is a good place to practice fishing. I suck at it, but the pond has easy to land fish and helps build your skill with less frustration. #5 I change clothing each season. Keeps it fresh. #2. Don't bother with field snacks, get salads at the saloon...better stats and those seeds can be planted in the desert and the trees tapped for more money.
If you sell a lot of 1 item to Pierre or Willy, the townspeople can comment on it. Like "I bought one of your etc." Doing a lot of quests can give you extra rewards from Lewis in the mail. A bit of extra cash early on.
Doing quests and talking to people at festivals has helped me raise friendships without really trying, I talk to them if I happen to pass them but don't go out of my to find everyone
This channel is really inconsistent. I stopped watching when your “things I find really annoying” and “things I love” had the same stuff. A lot of your content is filler
I've only watched a couple of his videos, but I've noticed that he fills them with a lot of unnecessary fluff to pad the video time. On top of that, he speaks super slowly and I can guarantee that the long transitions when it says the number, is intentional so that it pads the runtime even more.
10. Useful to do if you need the cash here and now (especially early on when you can harvest a crop, sell it, then instantly buy the next batch of seeds) though I wouldn't bother if you don't need the money right away. 9. definitely useful if you want easy friendship hearts or some convenient gold early on. Yet other than that I'd say unless you're aiming for the achievements it's not worth going out of your way to complete them. 8. I mostly use it for the immersion yet there are some useful things in the books. 7. The quarry really isn't that useful. Maybe go visit it once a month to see if it has any rare nodes yet the rocks replenish really slowly and most of the rocks will be useless. One thing you can do however is build over it. So if you fancy turning the quarry into a diamond farm via crystalariums, it can be worth visiting. 6. The secret woods is a bit 'eh' to me. You won't need a huge amount of hardwood so I'd say only chop those if you have the energy and time to spare, the fish are useful if you're aiming to catch every fish, the exclusive items can be collected and then ignored once you have enough and as for the stardrop you don't need to worry about him until you have the gem berry. 5. It's always nice to change your look. Even if all it will do is motivate you to play a little longer. 4. No. The train is never worth your time. Ever. Even when the train does drop items it will be a miniscule amount that you would have gotten more from had you done said tasks on your own. 3. Personally I'd say a bigger tip for the saloon is to remind people about how many villagers visit that place in one go. It's an amazing place to rack up hearts as pretty much everyone likes Gus' goods so you can buy some spaghetti, some beer and a salad for Leah and get tons of friendship points. 2. People forget about crafting? ..You sure? 1. The spa is an amazing place... Until you get a few stardrops and sprinklers and then you never run out of energy. Though still for year 1 the spa is a godsend when you have to manually water all your crops.
Instead of taking a crapload of food into the skull mines and using up inventory space, just take an absolute buttload of cheese (gold star or higher is full health in one fell swoop) and maybe a few food items with buffs. The cheese will reload energy to full without negating buffs.
There's nothing amazing about any of this. 'Sell things to the shops so you don't have to wait!' Sure, if you have time for it. Early on people try to level up their skills quickly, which is honestly better to have a chest with them instead of just going back to the shop again and again. Hell, a lot of what you say about things in the video is just 'things people might forget or not want to do'. 'Wow change your look for 500 gold!' ...not amazing.
You mention selling fish to Willy for absolutely no profit but no mention of the travelling cart where you can buy the rare seeds for bonkers profit...?
Right beside the quarry there is like a doorway and you will walk in there and fight monsters. But keep going no matter what you will find a statue and click on it and you will get a golden scythe it gives you more hay and it is faster to cut grass with
sashimi is, imo, the best recipe in the game. once you get access to crab traps, you can use what you catch to make sashimi. they're way better than field snacks, and if you make the bait generator machine thingy, it's also practically free.
On #10, if you want the polyculture achievement, you need to sell 15 of each crop in the bins. If you sell all of them to Pierre, like I did, they actually don't count to polyculture.
@@eamartig ur wrong cheat is making your game soooo bad because you can't cheat make it yourself stop being lazy and a cheater like your doing in class!...
I guess I never noticed that selling my items to the NPCs was worth the same amount as waiting until the night. Thanks for the info! I love your videos.
forthelolz2356 How little are you doing to save that much energy? XD Half of mine is gone by the time I'm done watering/collecting my crops and I have a tiny amount of things specifically because it takes so much energy. It's why I never use the massive amount of farmlands in HM, just 3 9x9 squares wears me down. Or maybe it's just a 20 year old game with a much more limited system and I'm not playing it right.
Didn't know about the train, so that's cool... but I do avoid the spa. "A few minutes" is a couple hours in-game, it's usually not worth it unless you tanked out your energy real early. Food is easy to obtain and much more time-efficient. Make some forage snacks. Catch a bunch of ghost fish (those things are great for easy energy, and you get a ton while looking for high-price cave fish). Forget the damn spa.
After playing this for a full in game year, I've discovered something very troubling. Marnie is an alcoholic. I can set my watch to that woman hitting the bar every night.
It's not because she likes to drink, is because Lewis is in there. When Lewis isn't in the Saloon, Marnie isn't there either. Also that's why she ignores you when she's there, because she's talking to Lewis.
I'm watching your Joja Run series now (Feb. 2022), and started one of my own - Going to the spa/bathhouse between morning farming and an afternoon in the mines has been great for gaining more profits from food sales, since I don't need to eat as much to regain energy.
Honestly I prefer using the shipping bin because of the money display. It shows outright all of what the produce and fish make and lets me know what to grow next because of value. But I do sometimes sell like small forageables to Pierre if I need like four gold for something.
I prefer the shipping bin, mostly cause I never go below critically low gold which I would consider anything under 50k, so I might as well save the time of going to shops, also I want to get every trophy so shipping everything multiple times is necessary
Tip #10 is okay in a pinch if money is low - but if the prices are all the same and I don’t need money right this instant, then there’s really no disadvantage to throwing them in the box.
the quarry is really only decent once - when you first unlock it. once it's cleared, it takes forever for things to spawn and by the time it fills up a bit it's with junk you already have hundreds of anyway
You forgot another useful one, the Traveling Cart. Specifically for bundle items (especially the ones that turn up much later in the game) and the thing you should grab as often as possible: the RARE SEED (sweet gems berries sell for alot even at basic). Takes all of the fall season to grow, but more than worth it.
I never bother with the train. By the time I get there the train is gone. Also for late game it’s better to just buy quality fertilizer than waste fish, I don’t do a lot of fishing, but make 20k a day on truffle oil (the oil makers can be expensive to make so I stock up truffles and just make the oil in winter for extras.
Train is basically just a distraction from your work, in other word, useless. The only thing that it's worth getting from the train is the geodes but it's INSANELY rare to get geodes from the train cart. And for number one, just eat foregable for replanishing energy or just wait for the berry "season" each month.
I actually love using the shipping bins. It's a lot easier to just toss a bunch of items in instead of running to vendors when you can use that time to do other things. The list and the value of each item was very helpful starting out. Not to mention it's always satisfying seeing the total amount at the end.
What a useless list. The time should be "things people dont bother to do in stardew valley". But half of the list are stuffs who are necessary to progress or speed up quite a bit, dont know how dont go to secret wood or didnt visit the spa at the first year. What now, you will do a part two video saying people dont plant seeds or create animals?
The train is absolutely pointless, like cool i just wasted most of my day for 2 copper and 4 coal. Same with the spa, you waste all your time when you could just eat some food and get back to work. Its even more pointless in co-op since you can lay in bed and regen your energy and the bed is infinitly better because your bed not in the middle of nowere its right next to the bulk of the work and doesnt take half the day to even get started regening. The rest of the points are very minor and borderline meaningless, like cool i can sell fish to willy, outstanding thanks for this holly knowledge, i will guard it with my life
I did all of these on my first blind play through especially the library It's really enjoyable Plus you can collect artifacts which is also fun I even got a key to the sewers Another stardrop That would've been a better point then the train one because the train takes a long time and usually doesn't drop good stuff
The spa is useless. U waste too much time travelling to and from the spa plus it takes too long for it to recharge energy. U waste 1/4 of the day at best. Just dont sell the consumables and u have energy all the time. My storage is stocked full of food that Ive saved.
mike king I disagree. If you need energy, salmonberries are a great source of it, especially as they don't sell for much. You can get a good 200+ salmonberries in the season. That's more than enough to last for a while.
There's a plethora of ways to get energy. If you're lazy you can even just get by on the free mushrooms and foraged items. Even early on the spa is wasting so much time.
brad kirchhoff going to the spa takes like 2 hours. what if you have a surplus of crops, water them all, and then u need to go mining to get sprinklers. u can go to the spa on ur way to the mines and lose only 1 or 2 hours
The spring berries and onions are worth very little but very easy to get in large amounts, those are best used as an energy source, albeit eating the onions feels so slow
That's why you repeat it quietly - ^ - Character birthday? - repeat until gift is given to Character Traveling merchant? - just repeat the word until you checked what she(?) Sells It works for me •>• Ps: i don't go to the train its kinda useless if you don't need coal or wood since ore is kinda rare
I'm a hoarder lol. Currently in year 7 fall bout to be winter. I've collected everything to sell on last day to evaluate the costs and profits of my farm. 4 bug barns 24 pigs and 24 cows. 3 big coop's 24 chickens 12 lizards. I've 187 bee hives which I use flowers during each season. I've some where around 50 crystaliariams generating diamonds. I've somewhere around 400+ kegs I've 101 aging barrels that make iridium cheese every 7 days. I've 6 of each fruit tree and a green house stuffed with ancient fruit. I've two jumo huts pulling up my crops which is around 350ish. (Farming is not my bag) and I've 18 fishing ponds. My day on the farm runs me from 6am to bout noon. I'm super excited to see how well my farm does by years end!
I've only been playing this game for a week and I already knew all of these "tips". Not helpful, certainly not "AMAZING". Most of these things are covered in the game's tutorial after playing your first day...
Thanks for the help! Just started my farm and I’ve saved every penny worth of spring items and I will do the same with all the seasons so I can keep them in storage when needed and stock up more! :)
For me it sounds like 10 things people don't do because you can achieve the effects more profitable and without the feeling of wasting time. 10. There are not much occasions where i need the money NOW. And on any other occasion i can save time and just drop it in the box when i go to bet anyway. No reason to stop with whatever i do much earlier to be able to sell it. 9. No objection. 8. Some information can be found there but most of it is not worth your time. 7. The amount of valuable stuff you get there is pretty meager. And if you want mining for xp go to the mine. More rocks, more valuable stuff to find etc. I have to admit in the very beginning you can have luck and get some mystic stones that are worth to dig. But lets admit: they are pretty rare. The last two and a half year game i played i found two. 6.I agree on this one. 5. Forget to do or just don't care? 4. Run out to the back of beyond to get a hand full of stuff you could have digged yourself in half the time and double the amount? 3. They are not cheaper then self produced. But i have to admit that you get more money by selling the ingrediences and buy the food with the money. 2. Hard to believe that people forget to craft but yeah if they do they should start to. 1. The spa suckz. At the point you can use it you are nearly not more in need of it. And before that you have no access. Should you be more on the slow side of leveling the spa might be okayish. But bursting all your energy out and going to the spa afterwards won't leave you with much time anyway.
You should only sell your products to NPCs AFTER you've already gained full skill levels. Selling in the box raises your skill, and selling to NPCs doesn't.
Actually doing the skill raises the level. But you only get the benefits of the raise level (unlocking more things to craft) when you sleep at night. That's why you associate it with the bin. But if you raise a level, say farming, and sell the crops to Pierre, you still only get next level in farming when you go to sleep and have the summary screen of the day.
With the first tip, if I want to fish I usually just fish until 12:00 am and get home by 1 am, so that walking over to the shops doesn’t waste time I could be using to fish
I like to see my income by the quarter and I save everything until the 28th of that season. It's interesting to see which seasons you do better in and implementing new things you may have tried in a previous season to increase your income. I like the challenge so I play like that :)
Possible late to the party spoiler that could be easily included.. lvl 4 wizard has another perk; a return teleport to the witch's hut, that in turn has a teleport requiring no unlocks after being able to get to it, back to wizards tower. Basically free transport between them.
Cadeboy 13 That seems very low... I’m in my first year, and even during the winter, my lowest earning days are never below 1200.... I make cheese and mayonnaise, plus mine and/or fish in my free time. I’ve had a couple days where I make close to 2.5K depending on some of the pickled/preserved items I sell too. I definitely imagine you should be making more than 1K
The only problem with the spa is it's not close enough to anything else in the game to be worthwhile. Usually, if you're out of energy, it's close to the end of the day, and by the time you walk up to the area, go into the spa, go to the locker rooms, and get into the spa, it's been like two in-game hours(or more depending on where you're coming from) and then by the time you get out of the spa and wherever else you're going, it's been another two hours or so. Four out of twenty game-hours just on travel, not including the time it takes to regen isn't really feasible with how many ways there are to recover energy.
3 things you may not have known about stardew Krobus sells an iridium sprinkler every friday Most everyone is alright with crops, so a good gift is plants that produce a lot, i.e blueberries and strawberries (and strawberries are maru and Demetrius' loved gift) The train can drop things during winter as well, i have gotten shoes
The truth is (this is only true on the Nintendo Switch) if you sell your products to the shops you actually get more profit than putting it in the shipping box.
I would never run up to the train because I always felt like I was too far away to get there before it left- but it actually keeps what it drops! So you don’t miss out on the first half the train- the items will be on the ground when you get there. Not sure how long they last because I’ve always got there before the last car disappeared- but it does give me enough time to get there
Wow. Normally on your lists I've always learned a new thing. This is the first time where I do every single thing. All the time.😄 Cool! Also I hate the spa (in real life). If I wanna be pampered I'll eat as much pizza and chocolate I can get my hands on, drink my favorite root beer and play my favorite video games and listen to some music.😄🍕🍫📺🎮🎶 Awesome video by the way and I hope you feel better.💖
10. Agreed. Especially in the early game this can make a big difference. 9. Agreed, but only the item delivery quests earn friendship points. Monster slaying, ore prospecting, and fishing quests do not earn any friendship. 8. The wiki is the ultimate guidebook. 7. I found a prismatic shard in a mystic rock at the quarry once. But in all seriousness if you can manage to get the quarry early, it is pretty good. The only problem is that typically you don't get it very early in the game. 6. I farmed hardwood in the secret woods for weeks trying to get enough hardwood for the upgraded farmhouse, since the stumps re-spawn daily. You actually also need the secret woods for a couple of things. There's a 10 heart event with emily, a Stardrop than can be obtained there, as well as a unique fish. 5. 4. The train isn't always delivering presents in winter, so you may still be able to collect items. I haven't found much of value from the train though. If you're lucky you'll get a geode or two, or maybe a few extra gold or coal. 3. The cooked dishes may be cheaper than normal. However, most members of the town have loved items that both aren't cooked dishes and aren't too hard to find. Maybe I would buy a dish of the sea if I had some extra money and I didn't have the resources or recipe knowledge to cook them, but I can't think of any other cooked dishes I would actually buy from gus. They still cost way more than the sell price for the dishes. 2. Fertilizers - I tend to think that fertilizers and speed grows just aren't worth it in general. Sure you get a little more gold per day per fertilizer/speed grow. However, you are paying a significant amount per fertilizer/speed grow as well. You can craft them, but then you are paying a significant amount of resources to craft them. You can buy them, but then you earn less gold per day than you would just planting them normally. The only exception I can think of is if a villager gives you fertilizer or you get speed grow from completing the community center bundle for it. Some would say you should use resources like fish that you don't have a use for on fertilizer, but then you could just sell the fish and earn more gold per day than you would by using fertilizer. Wild Seeds - These are okay. One gripe I have with them is that they produce foraging experience as opposed to farming experience. Also, the forageable crops aren't worth much and can be found all around the map. I like to use my sprinklers for seeds which will generate more value for me, such as giving me unique produce which I can't already find or, making money. Field Snacks - These are overpowered in the early game, especially when you're just getting started and you're clearing your farm or trying to get a decent stack of wood going. Trees grow everywhere around the valley and re-plant themselves, so you don't really need the seeds for anything. May as well use them for field snacks until you have an abundance of energy and food. 1. Yes. The spa is really good in the early game after it opens. It's even better than field snacks if you happen to be reasonably close to it when your energy is low.
Yes getting places is annoying, BUT the warp totems and mine cart helps with that. Good tips and video, use the quarry to declutter your farm! Ie christalariums, chests, and furnaces! In conclusion: do the things, or you know..don't.
Btw, that graphic glitch in the Wizard's Tower where the portal and book are is caused by you using a texture xnb mod that is out of date. The best way to fix this is to do it yourself by unpacking xnb files to get the png file, merging the modded png with the vanilla png in any image manipulation software with transparency, and then repacking the xnb file and replacing it in your Content folder. You can find an xnb unpacking/repacking command prompt on many modding forums. Cheers.
When I first started playing which was a few days ago, I didn't even know what that crate next to my house was. I'd end up mining, farming, and/or and when I wanted to sell something, I couldn't because the places closed so I'd wait till the next day. When I found out what it was for, I put 1 grape in that crate thing to see how much I'd get, and then I went to Pierre to see how much he'd buy it from me. I went to sleep and saw that it was the same price so know I throw everything I want to sell in that. I don't care if I have to wait a day. It's better than waiting for Pierre to open up if I just harvested tons of plants.
I actually prefer to put all my items in the box to sell them... I like that little summary of all the money I made
And if you ship instead of sell you get achievements for the items ie. monoculture, poly culture, etc
And the timed saved not going to the stores
Also you can find an Easter egg doing that

Seriously, if you don't need the money right away then there is no reason to sell items directly in the shops, especialy if you have other things to do, rather than wandering the town.
Also, if you sell crops directy in shops then they won't count towards your amount shipped number. Meaning it's impossible to get some of the achievements if you only sell them in the shop. I like to keep track of how many of each crop I've sold, so I prefer the bin (and it's also way more convenient)

all you have to do is switch a file out. It's even playable without smapi
You can change maps without SMAPI now? I thought modifying maps/adding areas/etc required SMAPI? I'll have to look into it then.
You waste so much time standing their when you could just run into the mine for the same amount of time and get a fair amount more of resources.

parasolhyena you can do it while playing other games, just move your keys back and forth.
Jake M. I always did real time based playthroughs.
You can open your inventory which stops the time and the train will still go on and you can collect the stuff :) without losing ingame time

I would have replaced the Train with Trash Cans. You'll get a lot more good stuff, considering there are a dozen of them to check every day.
and it provides much more useful stuff. Ores are easy to get, but food requires recipes and the correct ingredients
100% agree, trash cans are worth a lot more than the few scraps you get from a passing train that is likely out your way.
Yeah, but nobody "forget"s to look through the trash. That is a very common thing people do all the time, so it doesn't really fit with the theme of the video. But I do agree that the train is pretty useless

I prefer to drop all my sellables in the box for overnight, that way I can see exactly how much money I made in a particular day. I'm never so desperate I can't wait a day to have that cash. 😂
In the early game having more cash earlier is a big deal.
It’s normally not by enough to even matter for early game
I just feel like the box is less time consuming, it’s easier than running back and forth throughout town
It’s good if you want to buy and plant new seeds straight away, but won’t have any money until you sell your last harvest.
the only thing seling to willie is good for, is crab pots, place them at the ocean and then sell crawfish and snails. tho i keep snails for escargot.
No mention of the travelling cart? It can save you a lot of time and money finishing out some of those harder community center bundles. I've almost completely finished bundles with nothing but travelling cart goods. This can be good when you're too poor to afford buildings and animals

So yeah, I basically use spring onions till it's salmonberry season, then berries the rest of the way.
just- sorry spa I gotta eat my stash of 120 salmon berries from springs and my remaining 64 blackberries from fall 🤧🤧
i literally have all my crops with sprinklers so i don;t need to worry about that, the only thing that takes time is animals. so yeah the spa is kind of pointless, other then t being window dressing. cheese and fish converted to food is much more useful.

RainingMetal I mean I get diamonds and shit but tbh I dont care unless it drops at least 20 ancient fruit wine of the highest quality idc
It always drops something I think. But it's mostly just one stone, one coal etc.
That only works in multiplayer mode
Spa is irrelevant when you start making serious $$ anyways.
For 10, you'll waste hours running from shop to shop. You don't have that kind of time with mega crops or challenges.
But it's useful when fishing in the ocean (willy's shop) and when buying seeds. You can also buy some of the items you sell back later.

Field Snacks are still really good specially early game
If you sell a lot of 1 item to Pierre or Willy, the townspeople can comment on it. Like "I bought one of your etc."
Doing a lot of quests can give you extra rewards from Lewis in the mail. A bit of extra cash early on.
Doing quests and talking to people at festivals has helped me raise friendships without really trying, I talk to them if I happen to pass them but don't go out of my to find everyone

borger time yeah it's a 10 minute video too lol.
I've only watched a couple of his videos, but I've noticed that he fills them with a lot of unnecessary fluff to pad the video time. On top of that, he speaks super slowly and I can guarantee that the long transitions when it says the number, is intentional so that it pads the runtime even more.
Linus isn’t looking through the window, he’s huddling against the building to warm up.
It does help me when my inventory fulls during the day, but yeah I prefer waiting for my money after sleep.

forthelolz2356 How little are you doing to save that much energy? XD Half of mine is gone by the time I'm done watering/collecting my crops and I have a tiny amount of things specifically because it takes so much energy.

@@Roadent1241 Sprinklers probably
Wait till you meet Pam. Her tab causes the bar financial issues.

The one thing that really blew my mind when I learned about it was that those little wavy pieces of grass could hide artifacts and stuff
I prefer the shipping bin, mostly cause I never go below critically low gold which I would consider anything under 50k, so I might as well save the time of going to shops, also I want to get every trophy so shipping everything multiple times is necessary
I never knew about changing my look at the wizard, thought it was set in stone. Interesting tbh
Tip #10 is okay in a pinch if money is low - but if the prices are all the same and I don’t need money right this instant, then there’s really no disadvantage to throwing them in the box.
I'm definitely going to befriend the wizard, I have so many regrets about how I styled my farmer
It’s funny; the first time I actually stood on the train tracks, a train was passing through and it hit me. It took away half of my health.
the quarry is really only decent once - when you first unlock it.
once it's cleared, it takes forever for things to spawn and by the time it fills up a bit it's with junk you already have hundreds of anyway
Just check it once a month. Decent gem drop rate.
I'm playing this with only wiki and some videos being my guide...
I am struggling 😂
Same tbh I got the game 2 days ago but it seems like I'm walking in a dark cave with no end
8:26 in the later game who actually runs out of energy
Train is basically just a distraction from your work, in other word, useless. The only thing that it's worth getting from the train is the geodes but it's INSANELY rare to get geodes from the train cart. And for number one, just eat foregable for replanishing energy or just wait for the berry "season" each month.
Always pat your chickens, ducks, goats, cows, pigs, sheep and pet! The value of the eggs and milk will rise
The rest of the points are very minor and borderline meaningless, like cool i can sell fish to willy, outstanding thanks for this holly knowledge, i will guard it with my life
I did all of these on my first blind play through especially the library
It's really enjoyable
Plus you can collect artifacts which is also fun
I even got a key to the sewers
Another stardrop
That would've been a better point then the train one because the train takes a long time and usually doesn't drop good stuff
And vanishes before you get there.
The spa is useless. U waste too much time travelling to and from the spa plus it takes too long for it to recharge energy. U waste 1/4 of the day at best. Just dont sell the consumables and u have energy all the time. My storage is stocked full of food that Ive saved.
It's good year 1.
mike king I disagree.

Thanks for the help! Just started my farm and I’ve saved every penny worth of spring items and I will do the same with all the seasons so I can keep them in storage when needed and stock up more! :)
How have I been playing this game for two IRL years and I never knew what the spa was for?
Don't listen to sienna Douglas, he's talking bullshit
Check the trash cans, especially the one by the saloon. I managed to get a maki roll on the 5th of spring, one of the harder community center items.

That was the funniest “wizard” pronunciation of all time lol.
There was literally nothing odd with the pronunciation
3 things you may not have known about stardew
Krobus sells an iridium sprinkler every friday
Most everyone is alright with crops, so a good gift is plants that produce a lot, i.e blueberries and strawberries (and strawberries are maru and Demetrius' loved gift)
The train can drop things during winter as well, i have gotten shoes
The truth is (this is only true on the Nintendo Switch) if you sell your products to the shops you actually get more profit than putting it in the shipping box.
Don’t forget that if you fish in that little pond in front of the spa house, it’ll give you a present every now and then.
I don't know if those were 'important' tips, Jon Snow, but good job!
All the time.😄
Cool!
Also I hate the spa (in real life).

GameSharkHD Ya welcome, hun.😄💖
And aww yeah! That's the best way to get pampered.
The thumbnail tells you to NEVER PUT YOUR HAND ON YOUR FACE!!!

Yes getting places is annoying, BUT the warp totems and mine cart helps with that. Good tips and video, use the quarry to declutter your farm! Ie christalariums, chests, and furnaces! In conclusion: do the things, or you know..don't.
When I'm out of energy I just eat food
Btw, that graphic glitch in the Wizard's Tower where the portal and book are is caused by you using a texture xnb mod that is out of date. The best way to fix this is to do it yourself by unpacking xnb files to get the png file, merging the modded png with the vanilla png in any image manipulation software with transparency, and then repacking the xnb file and replacing it in your Content folder. You can find an xnb unpacking/repacking command prompt on many modding forums. Cheers.
Hey you should try the game My time at Portia . It's supposed to be similar to stardew valley
Well, I feel called out..... I think I am guilty of avoiding every single thing on that list and it's so dumb because they're such helpful things!
Secrets everybody knows
When I first started playing which was a few days ago, I didn't even know what that crate next to my house was. I'd end up mining, farming, and/or and when I wanted to sell something, I couldn't because the places closed so I'd wait till the next day. When I found out what it was for, I put 1 grape in that crate thing to see how much I'd get, and then I went to Pierre to see how much he'd buy it from me. I went to sleep and saw that it was the same price so know I throw everything I want to sell in that. I don't care if I have to wait a day. It's better than waiting for Pierre to open up if I just harvested tons of plants.
