I had the chance to try on the backcountry at the stitchdown bootcamp in nyc last month. I was blown away by the comfort and fit. Ordered a pair and am now waiting for them to come in. Such a great boot.
Welcome to the club, you'll love them. It's hard to believe they will keep getting more comfortable with wear as they are so nice out of the box, but they will !
Thanks for the review, I'm always interested in seeing and hearing anything Russell. These do look like they fill a definite niche. Regarding fit, it's my impression that RMs are designed to be worn with a sock of decent thickness, and the most important thing to get right for most people will be the length. Too long and they are floppy, too short and your toes will hit the end when going downhill or leaning back.
Well said, not cheap but look at what you get materials, comfort, workmanship and longevity. This being said times being what they are with inflation in everything I purchase I couldn't justify a purchase but if you have the means it is worth the price.
Guys. I got a pair and i ordered a hakf a size down from my redwing irish setters and from my marine corps issued boots. So i was a 9.5d and i personally ordered a 9d. They fit great! But if you want engineers get them instead. These are exactly what they seem. I even sprinted in the rain with mine and i felt like an apex predator.

@@ConkreteMan thanks!
I have the pre '24 Zephyrs. They are great but the '24 model is better. The structured heel makes all the difference. Again I'm jealous!

They look good with jeans. Nice pick.

Handsome boot but I can't wear pull-on boots. I need the support of a lace-up.
