Hmm, Did he feather out his stop-start on his root? Was he pushing the rod? If he's showing you just simple welding then I guess it's not to bad , assuming no testing was required. He's also using a rod CELLULOSE where you can't really fail the root unless you're blind
G stands for groove, which is the type of joint/weld (in this case it's a "V groove" open root weld). All the number tells you is the position; 1 would be flat 2 is horizontal 3 is vertical and 4 is overhead.
I love this guy cause when most people stick rods on TH-cam they don’t say anything. But this guy expresses the frustration 😂
Oh my God ! 😆
I want to see the back side of the plate.( ie root pass)

His tie end technique is weird
I think he went a bit too fast but other than that, the steps given to follow are good.
Not striking in the direction to weld over arc strikes?
No hot pass after?
Umm sir was that 6 beads ?
What was the rod angle at on the root
I wood recommend pointing that fucking nasty ass rod a slight 5-10 degrees to the left if you're going from left to right.
I have to test 2G next week, but with 7018. Is there anything i should look out for? I find my welds drooping a bit.
Crank it up
I'd assume either increase travel speed or lower heat
i know you are a pro but
why you don't put a piece of flat bar at the ends
Because this test is meant to be a practice for pipe
Pretty sure you teach in class at TWS, shouldnt be seeing flames spitting back at you right?
My brotha what the fuck was that tie end
Can I run a 6011 root pass rather than a 6010?
Yes you can
Aloha mask 🤙
How can you tell the difference from a 2g and a three 3g. What is a g?
