Most Indians use Basmati rice for special occasions in Indian festival times or celebrations at home. Otherwise daily consumption rice is a cheaper brand rice. I grew up eating the cheaper rice in India that my family will buy, but when I lived in US I used to buy the basmati rice as I find it easier to cook & better quality.
Basmati isn't exactly as common in Indian households as some westerners might believe. Its a premium variety of rice that is pricey because of its impeccable fragrance and is only used to cook biriyani, pulao and other flavored rice dishes on special occasions. For daily use we use other good quality but cheaper variety of rice.
things are cheap, yes. but quality standards are very low. try international brands : mountain dew in india tastes like candy soda. potato fries in lays are thinner. cadbury chocolates have more flour and sugar than chocolate to cut the costs. Indian food standard guidelines are at base level. In europe you need to have 'this much' percentage of chocolate in it to be sold as chocolate. In India it is floor level. This goes on with each and every product except plain water. Indian public and tourists can rejoice things are cheaper. But what you are eating are less nutritious sugar and fat rich junk. fruits are cheap because we make here with cheap labour. colder countries of europe and US has to export fruits from elsewhere.

I grew up eating the cheaper rice in India that my family will buy, but when I lived in US I used to buy the basmati rice as I find it easier to cook & better quality. Food is cheaper in India for 3 reasons, mass amounts of people consuming them keep costs low for some products, some foods have to be cheap for the poorer population with less income ( because we still have people who don't even earn 150 ₹ a day in some parts of India); and also with many brands there is less focus on quality due to poor regulations or poor execution of regulations here as well. Brand variability is true in any country, of the foreign known brands as well as local ones based on local tastes too.

Yea exactly
Most Indians use Basmati rice for special occasions in Indian festival times or celebrations at home. Otherwise daily consumption rice is a cheaper brand rice.
I grew up eating the cheaper rice in India that my family will buy, but when I lived in US I used to buy the basmati rice as I find it easier to cook & better quality.
His reaction is like he is visiting Afghanistan 😂😂
😂
Love you content bro 😊, thank you for visiting our country❤️
Thank you!

India has got world's most Affordable food and health care ❤

The things and products there in the supermarket are never seen by that person, still he thinks India is underdeveloped and cheap. 😢😢😢

I guess Perks of being a developing country is the prices are rather cheap. but there will always be another country in the world where you can get it cheaper. Remember there is a difference in the prices also depending which city you buy your products in.
At this ppp and service rates still india is tge largest producer exporter of IT fmcg and pharma. Still india gives schemes subsidies to 70% ppl

U come from a developed country with high gdp per capita and purchasing power ofc its going to be cheap for u. For ur avg Indian, its still fairly expensive ( no that much but still)as our per capita income is still fairly low and median wages haven't really grown much under the new regime.
Makes sense!
Oh new regime , so you think lot of development happened during congress😂
@@ravikanthbot9266 let's not undermine the failures of the present regime while also appreciating the goods they have done.
@@bubblegum7489first of all India's GDP and avg income doubled under Bjp but under congress there weren't even basic needs like electricity , roads , water but under bjp every village got electricity , water almost 600 million people came out of below poverty line under bjp , congress didn't do shit they gave thorium worth of 60 lakh crore to china for a free price not even 10 billion and 1 ton of thorium is almost comparable to 35 lakh ton of coal for producing electricity.
