youness, india is not a hindu country haha...it is secular (ps. buddhism also originated in india) there are ofcourse more hindu as hinduism( sanatan dharma) was founded in indian subcontinent... hindu just means people who live in (arb;) Hindusthan . that is the land after indus river(also called hindus, in arab countries & indus, in english countries) (when coming from iran/persia) we are all hindus practically, when the mughal (arbo-persian) empire came to india, the earlier rulers forced many sanatanis to convert to islam to benefit, survival or just to be, mostly in the north, as the invaders came from the afgan-pakistan border area... in south and north-east there are more christians, because of christianity spreading missionaries who came to N-E and because of small invasions and trade businesses in the south with portugal, france and the western world. islam also came to south via trades. hope you learned something new! but no matter the religion, we are mostly all the same, as our culture and traditions are still very indian, yes some religions influenced some customs and behaviours but the backbone is one that is INDIAN! and we love it!
